  3. I want to thank all on this list - to do what you do, as often as you do it, all whilst, like the rest of us, balancing a day job and family! THANKYOU! I appreciate the overhead this must bring with extra maintenance and running costs on your own cars plus the investment in kit you make to help the rest of us! This is what makes the @Carnity community and leads so strong and I aim to support in this way soon (giving back)! thanks all.

  7. Thanks to the hidden soldiers of Carnity keeping the club working as a clock in the background. Would like to note that none of this would have been possible without the passion and amazing participation and feedback from our great club members joining these convoys and pushing all of us to go the extra mile in a quest to fulfill this passion and aspirations ..

Hopefully, we are also one of the first convoys back into this area so it's not going to be all churned up. As ususal, if there's a change of plan, let us know. 27. Whatever you do, stay away from replica wheels, as they will pop out and difficult to fix those pop outs that will frustrate you more to use spare tire on most pop outs. Stay with OEM (new or used) or branded good quality wheels for better peace of mind.

  28. Good to hear that, it was a small hose and nothing major. Hope your transmission is saved. Also ask mechanic to do more thorough checks to avoid such breakdowns, as you were extremely lucky that we were close to exit. If there was a one big dune in between to cross, we wouldn't be able to execute that recovery with stock cars. Professional desert recoveries like AAA and others cost from 1000 to 3000 dhs depending on the work involved, so making sure your desert toy is always happy and healthy is even more important than our weekday cars.

  29. This is what I have in my mind boys and girls, to keep the mindset ready and what to expect on that day. Action Shots: Camera 1 - Will focus on entry shots, usually with bumps or two tires in air. Camera 2 and 3 - Will focus on sand splashing shots while doing sideys - front and back of each car. Camera 4 - Will focus on exit shots with sand rolling from back or simply scenic shot with tall dune in the background. Non-action shots: Car close up shots Driver on wheel Group shots Scenic composition Creative experiments @Thomas Varghese will try and experiment with whatever we have and I'm sure in end everyone will have fun.

  30. Thanks Thomas for your tips. I'm still beginner from many years and still passionate to learn more to explore. My last best friend is Auto mode. I know many hate it or laugh but that saved me many times when I'm not getting the results that I'm after. My passion for photography revolves around doing something different, capturing unique moments (fast, macro, etc.), magnifying the beauty of any sport, object, plant or animals.

  31. Hey @Gaurav Ill be shooting on my Fujifilm XT-4 with a 24-80mm and I'll bring my little point and shoot Fujifilm XF10 which is a fixed 28mm to capture those from the hip moments on our adventure 🀘🏼 Look forward to Friday!

  32. I would advise the following, but i am merely a beginner, so please correct me if i made a slip up: - Use Shutter Priority Mode (TV on Canon Cameras) - Lock your shutter speed to 1/500 or 1/1000. -Leave ISO on AUTO. - If the object is moving, you activate Burst mode. In combination with Continuous Focus Mode will make it easier to get sharp shots. - Set your aperture to F20 or something to start with, at least everything in the distance will be sharp as well.

  34. I recently found a study that was done in 2015 that showed pros and cons of Aftermarket Performance Air Filters. The specifically look at the power gains and fuel economy. The results and outcome might be surprising for many. You will find the detailed report in the attached PDF. 1-s2.0-S2212017316301475-main.pdf

  35. SOUND is indeed one of the main reasons why many are biased to believe their car has suddenly more power because they hear more ROAR. The manufacturer indeed engineers these things with minimum noise in mind, which is NOT what we want of course Perhaps a snorkel would generate a more resonating sound, and with the air being sucked in from a higher point it might suck up a little less dirt, compared with the intake being at the front grill, or in the Pajero's case in the wheel well.

  42. I found it by coincidence after one of my many sleep deprived Google Sessions The biggest risk in my opinion is the chance that an aftermarket airfilter or Cold-Air-Intake system can get loose, or the filter medium can get damaged, leading to possible intake of sand with a devastating result. For Offroad purposes, and after trying a K&N filter that needed extra oiling and maintenance, i decided to stick to my OEM air filter and clean it regularly.

  43. Very interesting read and the results. Due to the higher pore size in K&N filters you do get better throttle response and probably better gas mileage at lower rpms than a OEM paper filter, but the filtering efficiency takes a big hit. Now imagine the damage, a reduced filtering efficiency (meaning more sand passing through the filter into the engine) while driving in the desert. It certainly points to an early demise of your engine. Definitely, not worth it.

  48. I had 275/60R20 and switched to 285/70R18, which have almost the same external diameter. I chose Kumho Road Venture AT51 A/T tyres and progressively got used to deflating down to 11-12 psi. Very happy about their performance: very few further pop-outs and much better traction.
