@Anish S @Sunil Mathew @Senthil Kumar @Tom B @Waqas Parvez I certainly endorse this.... it was pleasant drive despite the heat avarage from 43 to 45 C. This area has the big rock where we got a great deal of play time also on the opposite of Badayer there is the tall dune and this was soft sand so we could not reach the top. We were surprised to see how tourist were frolicking in the sand bravely ignoring the heat, some of their buggies were criss crossing us and one nearly came in the path of our short convoy. Anish dear did a good job after coming back from a break... fishes dont need to learn how to swim... and he proved it. The drive was certainly not to the level of IM the terrain was fast but not too challenging, I mean technical. We did have some very light sucks not many even to recall that too at the head of the convoy.. I thank Anish dear to exit on time at Badayar shops where I could have my favorite super chilled coconut water while watching someone inflate my tires.6 points

Dear Dune Surfers, You slip - you Skip! This drive is the Third edition of the Skill Drive Series which had been posted in previous weeks for Ridge riding, criss cross and Technical terrain navigation, and Side Sloping As the names suggest, we would be focusing on the skills of Slip face climbing - attacking the dune from slip face during this drive. Every dune has a windward side and a slipface. A dunes windward side is the side where the wind is blowing and pushing material up. A dunes slip face is simply the side without wind. A slipface is usually smoother than a dunes windward side. The slip face are the softest part of the dune as the sand in not compressed ( pushed into) as there is no wind pressure. These slip faces usually have a high angle of attack ( between 30 to 35 Degrees) which makes it challenging and Fun to drive on. I always go back to watch this video as it is one of the most important and well explained ones available on Your tube: Make sure you come with a full tank, Car in good conditions, recovery gear for this level (Radio, Flag, Deflator, Compressor, Kinetic rope and Soft shackles). Recovery points should be checked and in good conditions. It is preferable for the cars to have a front bash plate (6mm or more) to keep the radiator protected Let us know If your vehicle is lifted more than 4 inch of OEM stock height as your 4x4 center of gravity will be high, and you need to factor this accordingly while doing the slip face attack. Hello @Sunil Mathew @Senthil Kumar @Tom B @Ashok chaturvedi @Waqas Parvez It was a great pleasure to drive with you all; i was blessed to have highly skilled and experienced drivers like you. It was supposed to be fewbie drive but looking at the response of the whole convoy, i had to raise the level. The first half of the drive around Tawi Nazwa and Pink Rock went very smoothly. However the second half from Pink Rock to Big Red was full of surprises because of the strong wind and the direction. There was lots of soft sand and newly formed pockets that took me aback, i got stock two stuck which we preferred to use the rope to recover because of the blowing sand and heat. The positive part of the wind was that there was almost no cross tracks and felt like we were the only one around until towards the end, we had to be very vigilant to buggies and other dessert safari convoys who were careless. I would like to thank @Waqas Parvez for his outstanding support and recoveries and @Sunil Mathew my second lead who had to do some slight diversions so that the rest of the convoy gets a better track. Thank you @Ashok chaturvedi, @Sunil Mathew, @Waqas Parvez and @Tom B for the kind words, comments and descriptive reports. Have a good week end ahead, take care and hope to see you soon in another drive.2 points

Hello Guys, I have noticed a whistling sound from my car when i drive on low speeds , the sound seems to be coming from the front side of the bonnet ( I notice the whistling sound in the videos I capture ) i have my camera installed on a tripod on my car hood so it get the chance to capture the sound , below is a clip where you can here it . https://youtube.com/clip/Ugkx9DF_UlGcZxYXmNLyvuAXd6Z7AkX3Yh54 it might be normal but i thought its always better to ask around the experienced guys we have in here thanks guys in advance for your advice1 point
-
Hi @GauravSoni thank you for the advice and you are right it is related to the air intake system . after trying to investigate the issue for a long time i figured out that the sound is coming from the front part of the air intake because i fixed an insulation foam ( which was a bit bigger than the original one and causing an air flow restriction then the hood was closed ). i have checked the following reading which seems normal: 1. vacuum ( around -20 at idle it goes up to - 0.5 when i rev up ) 2. AFR its always within the 14.7 value nd can go down to 11.5 when i rev it up 3. Intake pressure between 4 and 11 Psi1 point

Hi @Simon Dawood is that whisking sound coming during idle? Did u open the hood and try to identify the tentative location? the sound typically comes due to a leak in the intake … vaccum sound… I used to have a whistling sound which was identified as a leak in the intake … that can severely damage the engine as some sand can get into the engine… get is checked thoroughly …1 point

@Kailas what a drive. Loved every single bit of it. Every drive of yours I see the convoy bonds well specially during the break. We did not remove the rope or shovel. The convoy was strong from the start. @Rajiv Samwelcome back after your vacation.Good job as a 2nd lead with sufficient space from Kailas to reroute. @Felix Obst you drove so well. I know jeeps are the best. @Sunil Mathew I know you agree with me on that. it was a pleasure following you. Jeep or fortuner you drove great buddy. @Ashok chaturvedi you presence in the convoy is such a pleasure. Specially the knowledge you share. @Waqas Parvez and @Karthik Raptor with 2 monsters at the back drove exceptionally on the churned sand. See you soon guys.1 point

Totally agree we can expect a intermediate drive🙂1 point
