Hi, yes, I have a kill switch installed and, from experience, it is the best option to disconnect traction control and ABS while going offroad. Most garages know how to install one, just ask them for a clean install, without wires attahed to fuse legs or similar. My car is going through some check ups, as soon as I get it back I will share a picture. In the meantime, you can experiment in your next drive by disabling traction the way you do, VDC by pressing the switch next to gear shift and ABS by removing its fuse (car off and preferably no key).

Hi @Sayed Bilal… I drove for a about 4 drives with a safari during which I used to remove two fuses from the engine compartment fuse box… that completely disabled the traction and abs.. not sure about the air bags… you can check the website for identifying the right ones https://fuseandrelay.com/nissan/patrol.html ofcourse having a kill switch is an advantage as in some stuck instances you may need to engage traction to get out..

Dear friends hello and welcome to "Sweihan Drives" This will be my first drive leading in Sweihan desert which will continue in the coming weeks inshallah hence i named it "Sweihan Drives" exploring most of it before we head further south reaching Al Ain , waqan , and another areas and who knows we might end up reaching the yellow truck , Liwa and empty Quarter! Regarding this one i preferred to start with an area i have visited last year. we will start from E16 Al Taf Road heading West with the sun rising behind us, gently riding the first dunes to get acquainted with the landscape. After the initial warm up we will start tackling the big dunes that make Sweihan such a fantastic off-roading place, enjoying all the climbs, the crests, the ridges and - above all - the large bowls it offers, moving a series of high and complex dunes in an exciting sequence of climbs and rides around some of the biggest and deepest bowls to be seen around before completing our loop back to E16. Please make sure your vehicles are in perfect shape ( fluids, lubes, breaks, tires and the spare including the tool to replace it , recovery tow points ... etc ) as its a demanding terrain and the toll on your cars are going to be tremendous while tackling especially the huge bowls. Drive Info This time we will be starting off in Nahel, which is north of Sweihan. The aim is to traverse Sweihan in a North to South direction and to exit nearby Al Ain. Expect a fast-paced run, lots of ridge riding and criss-crossings, and the occasional technical track to keep us on our toes ! @varunmehndirattai vote for the ko2, 33”. I believe better to stick to this size than going to 34”. on 34” you are 1” closer to need regearing which will affect your performance. i have seen some cooper tires getting cracks in side walls. Your jeep have enough power to handle the KO2, so if i was you i would choose them over geolanders.

Dear @Imteeaz @Sayed Bilal @Jonny90. For higher level drives it is equally important to disengage ABS and traction control. Best thing is to get kill switch installed by a professional for ABS and traction. I believe it wont cost you more than 200 - 300 dhs.

Dear Friends, It was my pleasure meeting you all on a beautiful saturday morning, we start sailing about 6.30 after clearing the fog. As per my initial plan i wanted cover lot of long range high dunes, but due to previous day rain sand was damped and very slippery. after about 30 mins of driving i believe due to wet sand condition @Jessica Lambert had a pop out at the exit of slide slope. it was quick fix with help of all the members and we started to sail again searching for clean sand. finally we managed find some dry clean sand to enjoy some high ride and ridge riding, but the strong wind to slip face made it verse to ride the ridges, so we played it safe on some medium range dunes, Through out the drive we had fare share of all the experience. high ride on long range dunes, ridge riding, slide sloping, high speed baja run in the sabka and lot of technical dunes as well. im very happy with everybody performance until we reach our exit point at solar park. very good discipline through out the drive and helping each other on recoveries and stucks. 🙏 my special thanks to @GauravSoni appearing as special guest and helping all of us through out the drive. @Haitham Khattab you did great as second lead, reliable second lead behind lead is always peace of mind for the lead. 👍 @Gregory thank you very much for all the support through out the drive for all the recoveries. 👏 @Senthil Kumar thank you for all the update from behind the convoy 👍 Thank all other members as well @Jessica Lambert @Peter Hager @Ignacio Quindós @Tareq Al Turq @Sam K @Gerrit Bus @Imran Kashif @Tareck for great team work and enthusiasm through out the drive. hope you guys enjoyed the drive. see you soon next time. cheers, have a nice week ahead.

I have KO2s on my car. Done 60k on them since I bought them in July 2021; a combination of above average amount of off-road driving and on-road and are my daily drivers. Yesterday after the newbie drive while Chatting with @GauravSoni and @Rizwanm2 the matter of upgrading my tires came up and looking at them it seemed they still have 20-30k kms in them. They have thick side walls and moderately aggressive thred pattern. I choose to have the white labels out and if you need a less conspicuous look then you can go for all black look on them and would match your all black rims as well. Perhaps they are a tad bit heavy but thay make up with their superior grip in sand. It is my daily driver. After adding a couple of lights noise is not a problem because after 80kmph all that hear is wind noise. Plus anyways you tend to get used to it. my takeaways are 1. Long lasting. 2. Good grip in sand. 3. Good sidewalk protection 4. Aren’t very noisy in my experience.

Dear Desertnauts while usually the desert inspires meditation, silence, or at most listening to the notes of soft lounge music, this time the sands will vibrate with the sounds of one of my youth's favorite hard rock songs: Speed King by Deep Purple. Imagine taking off to the notes of this........ Probably not everyone's favorite desert melody, but certainly perfect to describe the mood of this drive 😁

As imteeaz pointed out.. MRA are the top option with fully adjustable and rebuildable shocks.. Base option is like your stock suspensions but with slightly bigger shock diameter for better performance than stocks.. IMS - is stage 2 which is mono shock… MRR - is stage 3 which has an external reservoir but not adjustable MRA - is stage 4 which gives a complete control to change the behavior as per your driving style.. If u want a lift , and happy with stocks till now, then go for Base version.. (yellow colored) … else i would suggest to go for MRA…

The MRA is one with the reservoir- top of the range. The middle range is the IMS version. Twin tube is the entry level. I have not changed the settings up to now - dont need to as i am enjoying the on-road and off-road drives with the same settings. I personally feel the MRA is an overkill (but still cheaper than the like of Kings or Fox ...); however i did not want to go for the mid-range and later on have second thoughts. Hi mate, Two inch lift kit (springs and shocks) EFS brand. No spacers. Huge improvement on the sand with better damping on jumps (oops, I meant 'bumps' and no bottoming out. Better turning and braking stability on the sand. On the road? I hit speed bumps without slowing down now, the shocks are fantastic. The handling and general road manners however, have dipped a noticeable amount due to the higher center of gravity but this was expected. All in for less than 5 grand if I remember right. Wazza

Hey @Mehmet Volga… after riding the dunes for about 100+ drives, I went for Dobinsons MRA suspensions with 30 mm spacers to avoid hitting the reservoir installed in the wheel arch… the car now sits at 2 inch lift with the heavy springs which kinda gives a good look overall.. The MRA’s is what Dobinson a refer as stage 4, with knobs provided to adjust the settings to make it hard/ soft. I personally have found a sweet spot setting for on and off road. Riding the ridges is more comfortable with good clearance and it can take those steep small steps we end up finding while leading.. one major change I felt is the reduced dashboard rattle on speeds >60 on the serrated sabka tracks😂.. i did crack one of my suspension bush which was replaced by the shop. These will get your pockets lighter by almost 8.5k along with spacers (H&R). One another note , There is a slight vibration that I get when driving on road at 90-110 which my mechanic says is due to change in transmission shaft angle cos of the lift. M not sure if @Alexanderrr @Simon Dawood @Mus_hus78 have experienced it yet. overall I am happy with the experience so far!

Just wanted to share with all the xterra owners here .Easy way to secure cargo with bungee cords and spring nuts. These can be found at Golden Screws Ras Al Khor. Pictures are self explanatory whole spring nut and ring bolt set with washer (3AED per set) Steps Final after tightening These can be used in any car which has these kind of rails in the cargo trunk. You can use as many as you want to make it more secure and modular.
