Dear Desertnauts, just a short introduction to next Saturday's drive. To paraphrase the great Winston Churchill "We know it will be hard; we expect it to be long; we cannot predict or measure its episodes or its tribulations. But one thing is certain: we shall continue steadfast in faith and duty till our task is done." Let's this set the tone for the drive: long, hard, and steadfast. As you can see from the attached screenshot of the planned track, we'll circumnavigate, better yet, we'll orbit Solar Park, past and new developments, in a clockwise direction, East to Lisaili, South to Murqab, West to Faqa and back North through Qudra's southern reaches. The drive should last at least 4 hours. It will require concentration, precision, skills, patience, and commitment. The less mistakes we'll make the more we'll drive, and the sooner we'll finish. Yet, there will be no hurry: we'll proceed deliberately, and undeterred! No need to drag the pre-drive briefing on. Convoy order will be announced on Friday afternoon. Hi @Gaurav just to introduce myself, Davie Chase to you ate the other drivers and participants of the newbie drive this Friday. I drive a 2021 Jeep Rubicon (red). I did the beginner master class with Freddie last Friday and had a blast. I am from the UK and been living in this region for 12 years (Oman, Saudi and UAE) I have a wide and fairly extensive amount of driving experience of a multitude of vehicles, including quad bikes, motor bikes, articulated lorries, cars of course, jet skis, boats, basically you name it i have probably driven or rode it. Looking forward to my first (well second if you count the master class) trip with you guys at Carnity. Really impressed with the professionalism of the club and information supplied so far Kudos to you all. I would recommend the 275/70/R17 because at the same deflated pressure, more sidewall would give a better footprint than more width . And yes, try to put in the Yokohama as a first choice. Though it will not win in a beauty contest in comparison to a BFG, but you would appreciate the lighter tyre much more as you go up the ranks. P.S. Am glad to add to the confusion 😜
