Shaun J
Thanks for another great drive @Davie Chase. Hope I'm still smiling come 5pm tomorrow with this shirt! @Gary F @Mark B @Benjamin and @Imran Asghar did a great job dealing with all the stucks/refusals. Thanks to everyone else in the convoy, was a good morning out in the desert, varied drive which proved tricky at spots. 1
Popular Post Davie Chase
Dear Desert Wanders @Ben Lee, @Misha Puskar, @DTG, @Shaun J, @Mark B, @Wilfredo Perez, @Rohit Deginal, @EbrahimZAF, @Prithvi Raj, @Benjamin, @Ali-M, @Gary F I hope you all enjoyed todays adventures as much as i did. It was a beautiful Morning lovely weather and great company. thank you all for being on time. The drive started at Tawi Nizwa and we ran up through the mid range dunes towards Pink rock and beyond, before turning back on ourselves, climbing pink rock and then heading off to Big Red. you guys all drove amazingly well. we only had two stucks and a handful of refusals. it was great to see the team work of 10 bodies around the vehicle all digging furiously. I would have loved to have helped, but someone has to supervise, and there really was not enough room for me :), but seriously it really was great to witness, and you all regardless of shovel shape and size made light work of the sand. Great S/L from @Gary F kept my lines smooth and your quick reactions were honed enough to move teh line left or right of steps and bushes, well down and appreciated. @Mark B Great job in the middle, a little busier than the last couple of drives, but that is how we learn, the busier the better. You handled all of the refusals brilliantly, with calmness and expertise. thank you and well done. @Benjamin as always great to have you along Ben, as always handling anything we could through at you with your usual unflappable approach. great job and thanks for being there in support. @Imran Asghar thanks for joining last minute and sweeping the convoy, always a pleasure to have you along mate, a little bit quieter for you at the back given the excellence we had in the two CF's but hope you were not too chilled or bored:) you kept the convoy together well and kept me informed all the way round. thanks and hope you get the AC issues resolved. We covered 42.4 km at a max speed of 51 KMPH and a Avg Moving speed of 15.3 KMPH. Imran Asghar
Hi Davie Great drive mate and yes chilled today to be honest which in good with as the guys in the middle were fantastic at supporting all the issues! No complaints from me! Think I figured it out The throttle body is filthy because the air filter was faulty so process of elimination. When I put the AC on the load is straining the car as throttle body full of crap So elimination process 1. New s and b air filter done 2. Throttle body cleaned again for the 3rd time in an month (because of the air intake) 3. Keep an eye on it and if it happens again then need to figure out why the throttle body keeps getting dirty Last and not least get the snorkle resealed I noticed this when I stripped it down after the drive : (going to ravon thenguys that installed it to get resealed Tomo morning ) 1
