Dear Desertnauts, tomorrow's drive will be the first time I take a convoy into an area I have not visited before. Usually, I ask the Advisors' group members to come along, so that we may safely scout an area, and decide if it's worthwhile adding to our list of itinerary's, and at what level. I have just done something like that (a scouting drive with some fellow Seniors) in a neighboring area, close to Nazwa, coming off another track starting at Al Aweer. This time, we'll aim to reach Mahafiz, to the east of our entry point, then drive back toward Nazwa, crossing the latest scouted route a couple of times, but driving through new territory most of the time. Even the entry point into the dunes may be uncertain, due to the presence of a deep sandy ditch next to the tarmac road, which will force us to look for a suitable entrance. Our meeting point (soon to be posted), therefore, may not be exactly where we'll start the drive off-road. With all of the above in mind, make sure you bring with you a bit of patience, and a lot of spirit of adventure, as we may have to redirect quite a few times, in search of a suitable route. The level I have in mind for a future drive to be posted in this area is Fewbie, but in an exploration drive, this may escalate a bit, exactly in order to find the best route, and avoid any complications we may find on the track. @Danish Mohammad you are added as someone left. please confirm. I request members to please tag me (or any respective drive lead ) when removing RSVP/leaving the drive , so that the next member on waitlist can be informed in advance and added which makes the whole process easier. It has happened in past that waitlisted members were not informed in time when someone left as I was not aware and spaces were available. I am not logged in all the time on the website to keep a track who leaves. I propose a Suggestion @Frederic for 6th and 7th one as nowadays it can happen that the 4 or even 5 frequencies are on in the same vicinity as our club is expanding exponentially recently with the emerging of new leaders and more comers to Carnity off road club .

Thanks a lot @Ale Vallecchi for saturating this drive with Thrill, Adventure and New learning experiences. It was good to see that everyone handled the challenges thrown at them very well. Thanks for giving me an opportunity to be the Center Forward, its always fun helping others out and rerouting the convoy, furthermore it really enhanced the overall drive experience. @varunmehndiratta, Your skills have progressed a lot since we last met, seeing you were able to tail me throughout the drive 😂, Well done. @Niki Patel, It was nice seeing you again, been a long time since the RAK drive. I will be visiting Fewbie drives more often to meet up 😂 @Mehmet Volga, It was nice meeting you in person, amazing personality, and skills offroad. I was truly amazed by your skills with handling all those recoveries.

Dear @Kenneth Bollhardt you have RSVP on two drives 1. NB at Faqa with me 2. NB at Pink Rock with @Vanessa8580 Kindly choose one and waitlist on the other you wish to join as second drive, once double/multiple drive RSVP opens from Wednesday morning, you will be added as per the availability. (As far as this week hopefully you should get both drives as spaces are open as of now.) This is done to allow max number of members to get at least one confirmed drive on a weekend.

@Rizwanm2 just to clarify: we noticed that you attended only one IM drive in January and only one in February. To cope with extreme level, you need to practice more regularly fast-paced IM drives, in order to be safe.

It was not a hollow offer. As you said its your 1st fewbie drive I know you are excited to participate. I have done 15 or more fewbie drives and it is a wonderful experience especially under @Ale Vallecchi's lead. I always love to drive when he leads. Very technical, matured and smooth. Instructions are very clear and you only have to follow them. Something goes wrong he has the patience to explain where and how you went wrong. I love to be on the drive but not at the cost of somebody's enjoyment. I think you don't have to quit as he has already added you as confirmed to the drive. Probably he will decide to accommodate all of us seeing the enthusiasm.

Actually by using the magic of multiple polys we no longer need the winch any more 🤣😅 ( me and @Ahab Shamaa we can pull ) 🤪

Thank you @Srikumar for the update. however i was allowed for an extreme drive about a month back but could not attend due to tyre puncture. Hence just wondering what went wrong during my last 2 drives as sweep and 2nd lead. 🙄 however will join other drives and try to improve my self. 👍

My experience with 1 time DIY was horrible and since then I'm happy to repaint per panel for 300-400 dhs. I recently got the passenger side 3 panels repainted due some more than usual scars. If its very minor one, simply touch up for 5-6 times (layers) and then seal off with clear coat touch up paint. Ace sells all color pens.

Vehicle - Able to do continuous long hill climb without any gearing or power-to-weight issues. Safety - Able to drive without fishtailing, ride the ridge and crisscrossing safely.

@GauravSoni and @Rizwanm2 the broad criterias which the Marshal and Crew use for the selection of drivers are as follows : Broad selection criteria: Performance - Able to manage Intermediate drives regularly and without any repetitive stuck or refusals. Experience - Able to keep constant focus at high pace driving with caution and yet courageous. Vehicle - Able to do continuous long hill climb without any gearing or power-to-weight issues. Safety - Able to drive without fishtailing, ride the ridge and crisscrossing safely. Skills - Able to manage high speed maneuvers without slowing down the convoy.
