As it's your first drive, and you are coming from AD (no newbies this week) I will open up a slot for you and add you to the drive.5 points

First time with @Srikumar and first time in Area 53. I was under the impression that Area 53, Super bowl, Iftar bowl etc were strictly FB+ and IM territory. Was surprised to see Area 53 in an FB ride..so didnt want to miss the chance, and ended up as the first sign up 😀👍 Looking forward to it and 🤞🤞🤞5 points

@Sunil Mathew @darren thompson @Charbel @Hardik Mody @Tareck @Aisha S @Abdul Rafay-S @Adhir Saxena @Zixuan Huang - Charlie @Anoop Nair Thanks for signing up for the drive. As explained in the drive post, Area 53 can be the one of the most wonderful as well as most difficult areas for Fewbie level drives. This area has got it all - a whole lot of tall dunes, sharp drops, pyramids dunes, rolling dunes soft sand, etc. Our plan is to visit as much of the pyramid and rolling dunes that time would permit and try to reach Iftar bowl before it gets too hot. For those of you who are wondering why a sand dune bowl in the middle of the desert is given a strange name as Iftar Bowl; that is because in pre-COVID era (seems like ages ago) on the 3rd Friday of Ramadan month all the offroad clubs in UAE would gather at the base of Iftar Bowl in the evening and the fasting members would break their fast. It has been an offroading tradition for more than 15 - 20 years and it was always wonderful to see as many 200 - 300 cars at the same time. Hopefully we would have the opportunity to relive this tradition during the next Ramadan. In the meanwhile, we will make do with what we can and keep practice playing on these amazing rolling dunes. If any one feels that they have hardly used their shovels so far and that its getting rusted, Area 53 is the perfect place to put them to very good use. Me and @Hisham Masaad look forward to driving with you all this Friday, and hopefully we overcome the challenge of Area 53 as a team.3 points

Welcome to Carnity Offroad Club @Brian De Villa ! Great to see a Suzuki Vitara in the club ! About Friday: The Absolute Newbie drive is tailored to members who join us for the first time, and where we can guide you through every step along the way into becoming a confident Offroader. You will be amazed at your own progress and soon you will be doing things with your 4x4 you have never even imagined ! We have an Absolute Newbie briefing video which you should definitely watch a few times, and which will give you the essential basics and make you feel more comfortable behind the wheel coming weekend. Please take your time to go through this video prior to joining us. MUST WATCH: NEWBIE VIDEO BRIEFING On this drive topic, please introduce yourself a little bit, and include the following info: 1) Which 4x4 are you bringing ? 2) Do you have any prior off-roading experience ? If so, where and how ? 3) Does your 4x4 have front and rear towpoints ? This is a very important point and i want you to inspect your towpoints to make sure they are not completely corroded or loose. We want to be able to recover your car from any angle safely in case you get stuck. For your first Offroad drive we request you to bring the following items: - Pressure gauge with deflator, as we need to deflate your tyres to 15psi. - 12V Air Compressor to inflate your tyres. We will be ending our drive nearby a petrol station but unfortunately their compressor is out of service. Hardware shops like ACE, Speedex, and Dragon Mart have plenty of options from 200AED up to 1500AED. After this drive, you will become a Newbie level driver, and then you will be needing additionally: - An Offroad flag. - A UHF Radio (walkie-talkie), programmed to our frequencies. - A proper shovel. If you have any of these items already, all the better, please bring them along. Do not hesitate to ask your questions if any !2 points

Dear Desertnauts. Considering the drop-outs, based on the priority assigned to members looking for their first drive, at the moment I would like to sign up @Ashok chaturvedi and @Shehab Alawadhi, if they both confirm (please acknowledge). There still are @Kalahari and @Ranjan Das in the WL. I'll get back to you by this evening. Thanks to all.2 points

Please put me on WL ...2nd drive1 point

I have the same issue. Service guys told me it's a warranty case, kind of jam inside. Waiting for the panel already 2 months. In the meantime, they just disabled the whole panel, you can use your screen for everything apart from switching off the traction control (which can be done by removing the fuse)1 point
-
Thanks @Gaurav bhai for adding these extra correct points. Man how could I forget Rubicon, I almost bought that car and I did look at videos of how cool sway bar disconnect is, most will show putting the tyres on a fork-lift but as Gaurav said; when you are crested press that Electronic Sway Bar Disconnect and the front tyres will drop to touch the sand like a Long-Travel Dune Buggy would, in the hope of gaining traction to self-recover 😁1 point

Brand new panel will cost you a lot. Try blowing air if not working then you might get this used from Sajaa.1 point
-
Yes it is sand, happened right after the drive. I was thinking I'd take it to the car wash where they have high pressure air, which might have cleaned the sand. But foolishly took it to service centre. I have to kick myself for that may be...1 point
-
are you sure its the sand ? connect the compressor and blow some compressed air thru those gaps probably ? If we remove those allen bolts, will you get better access to blow out the sand?1 point
