Many many congratulations to Team Arabian Red Fox I @Wrangeld @M.Seidam , @Bernard Kalaani , @Ruan van den Heever and @Mario Cornejo What an outstanding achievement! I'm only sorry that my car let me down and I wasn't able to participate, here's hoping no such ill fate awaits me for the next Carnity Desert Championship, at least then @Wrangeldwill know he had been in a competition. 💅😜🤣

@Chaitanya D Was a great team, all concentrating all working hard and all enjoying ourselves. Chaitanya I have to commend your skills in leading and navigation putting us in a very admirable 2nd place whilst not losing sight of team safety. @Hisham Masaadthe role as 2nd navigator was invaluable keeping the Boss on target when his focus was diverted to finding a route. Great teamwork and understanding from you both there, well done. The rest of us @Warren Flay @Anoop Nair and myself just did all we could to keep moving avoid errors and enable the job to be done. Thanks to all and I guess my sporting side should congratulate @Wrangeld and the foxes for winning despite trying to intimidate us at a waypoint clash 🤣! Well done Carnity for organising was great to see so many club drivers at one time which Covid has prevented until now. Stay safe and keep your motor roof side up.

We started from Murquab which was pretty churned up especially the big dunes and play area. Most of this drive, we drove in technical terrain to make our way to Al Hathmah Area. The last hour of the drive we enjoyed the nice dunes that Al Hathmah had to offer and which never disappoints. We encountered only few minor refusals and stuck which were recovered swiftly. Thank you all for your patience and help during recoveries with shoveling. It was so amazing to see the proactiveness and the team spirit from you all which is vital in this sport. Well done everybody👏. Thank you @Russ for your assistance and support with the recoveries throughout the drive, we were lucky to have you in the drive. I am also very grateful to have @Gregory and as always you were an excellent second lead making necessary changes when required and also showed interest in learning and practicing rope recovery which you executed perfectly. Thank you @Sunil Mathew for you support and for being an awesome sweep.

Thanks to @Gaurav had a great drive, and enjoyed thoroughly in the back and had a nice experience with few recoveries as well. @JeromeFJ behind you @Sudhanva Sonawane, @Simon Claes, @Michel Van Woudenberg and @Manoj Soman were driving without any trouble at all, and definitely enjoying the drive while the cars were moving. Recoveries are part and parcel of the desert driving and everyone has to go though them. Be patience when others are stuck, as everyone gets stuck - its just matter of time. Everyone will also get involved in recovering while others being recovered. This is my recording of the drive if anyone is interested. After a clam and quite first part we went through what was a nice technical area. @Manoj Soman, you still have my radio, sorry I forgot as I was in a hurry to meet someone. Dear Desertnauts. A quick note on tomorrow's drive. It'll be nice to get back around Sweihan area after a while. Let's just hope there aren't many (if at all) of those tracks and wires left by O&G research machines in the dunes between Sweihan and Al Ain. This drive will be mostly Shaaz's to run with. Together we'll explore around this old track of mine, with the goal of moving west to east, in the direction of Faya. If we make good time, perhaps we'll venture in Faya proper as well. The convoy order will be the following: @Shaaz Sha will start at Second Lead, until we'll switch leads, and I'll fall into SL @Santoso Marjuki will be in place #3 @Adhir Saxena at #4 @Sunil Mathew will drive in #5 @Looper at #6 @Zed will be #7, and @Thomas Varghese will Sweep. Considering that the meeting point is quite far away from Dubai, from where most drivers are coming, let's stay in touch through this thread to announce any possible delay. We'll still try to leave as close to 2PM as possible. Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow. Enjoy the evening.

This event considered being the first took ( at least for me ) the best evaluation personally in terms of : 1. the organisation of the event was super 2. the area being selected for the competition to take place ( way points ) I would say was not easy and not extremely difficult. It contained all the terrains that we encounter in our weekly drives in a perfect circle ⭕️ like fashion ( that’s how I see it on my previously marked areas of tech, super tech , flat areas and long range dunes in the Lisaili ; how mystical 😎) 3. The selection of teams was totally fair via random unbiased withdow 4. the interactions between teams and within each team pre and post event was so immensely fantastic and bond firming . 5. It was an opportunity to learn and grow further as knowledge has no limits . Thank you @Carnity for this one and in advance for the 2022 one Hat off to all and cheers ✌️🏆

@Br. San sorry you got confused in the procedure for adding yourself in the drives. @Lorenzo Candelpergher & @Gaurav has explained the procedure in simple language. I can see that you have had only 1 drive with @Carnity and is not very familiar with the procedures in adding yourself for the drive. Every Sunday morning @Gaurav will post a list of drives in the whatsapp group which are planned for that week. This is to give you time to decide on which drive or drives you will choose before the RSVP opens. The RSVP opens exactly at 7pm on Sunday. Just before the RSVP opens @Gaurav will post the drives again in the whatsapp group with the link to the drive description and the RSVP calendar for that particular drive. You can add yourself to the drive by clicking on the going tab. There are 2 tabs. 1 is the Going tab which is for the drivers like us who wish to join the drive. 2nd is the Manage tab which is reserved for the lead and the support team. Under no circumstances we are not to click the Manage tab as its reserved. By mistake you may have hit the manage tab and that is what Lorenzo has referred to. As the RSVP got full Mr. Lorenzo has no option but to waitlist you and add you if anybody drops out which happens most of the time due to various reasons. It can be a family emergency, a work related emergency or a mechanical failure of the car or simply the driver could have some friends dropping in unexpectedly. Can be any X, Y, Z reason and drop outs happen. For @Lorenzo Candelpergher to add you to the drive he should be aware that you have an interest in participating for the drive. You express your interest by expressing your intention by dropping in a message on the drive thread. eg. @Br. San Please WL for this drive - 1st drive or 2nd drive. Now what is 1st drive and what is 2nd drive? As per club rules a driver can RSVP for 1 drive when the calendar opens on Sunday 7 pm. Same time if he finds another drive which is interesting at another time can waitlist on that drive thread by expressing his wish through a message on that thread. The 2nd drive becomes the 2nd drive of the weekend. It has to be clearly mentioned. In case the RSVP gets full before you clicked for your 1st drive you can immediately message on the drive thread to WL you for that drive. Mention that its your 1st drive in your message in the drive thread. This way the Marshal knows you have no other drives for that weekend and will give you preference to be added over the driver who has WL for his 2nd drive. In case you have any inconvenience in joining a drive due to any reason and have already RSVP'd then drop a message in the drive thread and immediately click the leave button so that other drivers who have WL gets a chance. I hope now the procedure is clear for you. Please note that @Carnity is a very professionally run club and doesn't favor any driver over another in these matters. @Carnity teaches you well to drive your 4X4 in the desert in the most safest way without causing any mechanical damage to the car. If at all any mechanical issue occurs its purely because you entered the drive without checking your car properly prior to the drive. In case any such issue occurs you can count on the trip lead and the support team to assist you to recover the car to the tarmac. They are not to leave you stranded in the most harshest environments to fend for yourself. As a driver which has done 80 drives in this club I can vouch for this. See you soon wrooming in the desert and hope we drive together 1 day.

Hahaha...after the wrath of my wife I faced after i bought Dyson fan for my office, doubt I can convince to buy Rubicon co-branded Dyson vacuum ...😂😂 Though at times I do introspect about why I bought that fan, last I used it was actually on the day (perhaps for a week) I bought it.

It shouldn't be an issue in Dubai (my pump, other stuff was always there, and never felt a risk that something could happen) Also, if you are not satisfied with the cleanliness standards after washing (for example, it is very difficult to remove sand from the material coating in the trunk and the floor - you don't see it, but its there) or just want to clean interior more often than going to the carwash, you can buy a cordless vacuum cleaner (my option). The bonus is that the tube is "co-branded" with Rubicon 😁
