  2. Thanks @GauravSoni, @Frederic, @Rob S, @Senthil Kumar for a the support on a great trip! Ever time a new part of Faqa that I have not seen before. It was a day of 2's and 3's: 2x Frederic's, 2x Paolo's, 2x White FJ's but then 3x Pajero's, 3x Grey Collumbia trousers and 3x Jeeps. Only 1 green Isuzu! Had some great surf's on the ridges and had some time for a few pictures. See you all soon on another drive.

  3. Sweihan https://maps.app.goo.gl/xtkmVLf37wJ8XYVo9 This is the nearest fuel station I can see and guys plz maintain the mentioned speed limit on AD roads and keep in mind that there is no grace of 10 or 20 km. I remember @Frederic mentioned in one drive post that the speed limit will be reduced by 20 km if the climate is foggy. Take care boys 👍

  4. Great morning in the desert! Challenging start in the soft technical bits but once we headed to the bigger dunes we made some good progress! We had a couple of minor refusals and “looping back” but as @GauravSoni mentioned, it’s important to keep convoy order and avoid overtaking when this happens. @Federico De Chirico hope you get small issue fixed on the pajero, and probably worth taking the your rear wheel to tyre shop to get checked, suspect there will be some sand in there after the pop out. Thanks @GauravSoni for fantastic lead, @Frederic as always good to see you and the green machine! And well done to @Senthil Kumar for sweeping us today. only disappointment for today was no loud exhausts to listen to . . . . . . Maybe this is my next upgrade!

  8. I saw you message on @Hisham Masaad drive that your “bitter half” is not accepting to permit two drives a week and then see you accept the offer from @Gaurav Soni to come to the drive and I like whaaat?? And when you flip flopped I am like, yeah there's is balance in the world order. Frankly the first thing comes to mind to us maniacs if some one asks to join the drive is “yes off course sure I’ll go”. Then the reality kicks in, and you realise that there’s responsibilities, and a world outside the addiction of driving in the dunes. Happy dune surfing y’all.

  9. A big thank you @Hisham Masaad for the drive this morning, and for giving me the opportunity to lead the second half. The first section, 2nd Sept to Faya was a perfect warm up to enjoy the fresh morning temperature, and progress quietly from one dune to the other, with the view of the mountains in the background. In the second section, Faya dune itself, you took us through a beautiful area with round dunes and virgin sands before reaching to the top of this massive dune. Everyone could reach the summit, pushing the rev of their cars. The view from the top is always amazing, especially watching the remaining cars of the convoy at the bottom. Another big climb from the side, allowed us to realise all the factors that can impact a climb, power of the car, but also trajectory, tire pressure, gear selection… @Hisham Masaad gave me the honour to lead the third section, the most scenic one. I love this portion, between Faya and Fossil Rock (even if the Rock is now fenced). Finding a way through the ridges and the bowls, with the view of the mountains over the valley to our right, and the dunes and a few rock formations to our left was a real pleasure. Still all drivers were focused on their steering, and we had only one occasion to dig the shovels in the sand. The last portion, Fossil Rock to Mahafiz, had a lot of vegetation and bushes. I was trying to stay on the upper part of the ridges to avoid the bushes, but it was not always possible, and we had to cross a few uncomfortable areas. Still we found some high long dunes, good opportunity for side sloping. After a few runs, and another portion of bushes, we reached an old track that took us to the Mahafiz trees, where joined the tarmac road. Thank you all for joining @Vishal Nair, congratulation, very well done for your 1st Fewbie, @RiaanJH very well driven, thank you for the pics, @Chris Wing thanks for the excellent support from the CF, @Jona deserving FJ team membership, @Sudhanva Sonawane nice drive, @Zixuan Huang - Charlie, and @Sunil Mathew it was a walk in the park for you, but thanks for joining, and @marks thank you for your eye on the convoy from the sweep position. @Hisham Masaad, thanks again for your lead and guidance.

  35. @Hisham Masaadmy apologies for missing the drive today without giving notice. In fact I was on my way when I got stopped by police right outside my community. After 20 mins of chat I would have completely missed the drive so sadly went back home. I would never willingly miss a drive I registered for, I can assure you.

  45. Hi @ASAD.. Yes system is designed to do like that - it removes all WLs when you joined to a convoy. If you don't think you will join to Saturday's drive, I suggest removing yourself from that convoy then your WL number will change as the 1st drive in here. I will try to include all WL (it is 5 currently) as some drop-outs and no-shows are possible until the drive. But it is always headache having more than 14 cars in a convoy so will have to arrange if the WL continues to grow up. Your slot may move back if new entries with the 1st drive to the WL. If you remove your rsvp from Saturday drive, then you will stay on board...

  46. Hi @Mehmet Volga I think the system automatically removed me from WL when I got accepted in another drive on Saturday. I would still give this one preference if I get accepted as I don’t think i will be able to make it on Saturday. Thanks again
