Dear Desertnauts, a quick note for all of us. The meeting point will be just beyond ADNOC's gas station at Qudra Parking. It's easily reachable as you exit the gas station, just before reaching the entry to the tarmac and the roundabout. Just enter the gas station to refill, and as you exit you'll have the meeting point in front of you, on the left of the track. You may deflate there, as we'll drive from the meeting point to the entry point on a dirt track. Please deflate considering hot temperatures for at least the first hour, and soft sand conditions during the second hour. Considering the objective of the drive, to keep moving as fast as possible for the whole 2 hours, please bring refreshments to consume in the car, as well as make sure any passenger has had, or has access to, a motion sickness pill (we should try not to exit anybody due to this avoidable occurrence). Final convoy order and radio channel will be provided on site. @Ashok chaturvedi, @JeromeFJ, @Alexanderrr, @Tom B, @ASAD., @Shaker, @Waqas Parvez, @Gilbert Khalil, @Senthil Kumar, @Gregory, and @Joseph Raju (please confirm you'll be able to join), see you all this afternoon. Have a nice day.7 points

Hello everybody, it was an absolute pleasure to be back in a @Carnity drive and equally a delight to meet all of you. It was a great drive in the beautiful and challenging area of Lisaili. Thank you @Islam Soliman for hosting the drive and for the knowledge sharing with all of us. I echo the previous comments, @Davie Chase had a stellar performance supporting each and everyone during the drive, a big applause π !! Until we meet again, I wish you all a great rest of the week. Eid Mubarak to all!5 points

Thank you, @Ale Vallecchi, for the third rush hour; I'm looking forward to the fourth one. The speed was pacey as usualπ; it's not easy to keep up with you, but everyone in the convoy drove brilliantly. @Gaurav Soni thank you for sweeping the convoy4 points

It had been quite a busy weekend for me, hence the delayed report DRIVE REPORT: Thank you @Paolo Morresi @Paolo Pellegrini@Amr Aydin @Gertjan @Federico De Chirico @Federico Galbieri @Senthil Kumar @eldose baby @Rob S and @Frederic for joining the drive. "If plan A doesn't work, we have another 25 letters in the alphabet" , this quote was apt for the drive that started just at the sunrise as we headed towards the technical areas behind solar park "Chimney". we intended to meander through the soft sands towards the long range dunes south of Solar park, however the sand gods had their own plan in making. we tried to loop back twice to navigate through the soft technical path which was greeted with few stucks and refusal at the start of the convoy including myself being stuck on a flat ground. we were blessed to witness couple of excellent self and assisted recoveries following guidance from @Frederic. it was decided then to change the plan and head towards the long range dunes south of our meeting point making way through the sabkha where were greeted with huge long range dunes with some vegetation. taking the opportunity, we mixed the drive with some ridge riding, dune surfing and criss cross which was excellently executed by convoy. while going on a side slope ,we had a rear passenger tyre pop out for @Paolo Pellegrini . once sorted, we started moving south on the long range side slopes. at this point @Federico De Chirico experienced some issues with the transmission which kept on upshifting during the climbs. after a few futile attempts to see if the car runs normally, we exited the car. Hope you have identified the issue and fixed @Federico De Chirico. we re-entered the dunes and made our way to find ANGELA's BOWL, which i remember driving a year back. however to our surprise, the shifting sand changed the topography. Making the best of the time remaining, we played around the huge slip faces pushing our cars to max Revs and then eventually exiting to tarmac around 9,30 am. we all learned something new, practiced something old, and remembered some good old stories. and yes, it was a drive of two and three's @Gertjan. I hope you all enjoyed this drive as much as i enjoyed leading this one. Thanks @Frederic for the valuable feedbacks and support. well done @Rob S for a well executed CF and congrats @Senthil Kumarfor a job well done as your first Sweep i believe. you raised an excellent point @Federico Galbieri with the waste thrown in the desert. i am sure we all will keep that in consideration next time we get in. Thankyou! See you all soon in sand!2 points

Hi guys! It has been a really fun drive and looking forward to the next one soon!! I just wanted to point out one thing that I saw during the drive that bothered me. The desert is a treasure, the best we can do is to minimise our impact in the environment, that includes not throwing the cigarette butts on the ground, but put them in a tissue or a bag and throw them in the trash bin at the first opportunity. I know, people are polluting this environment in even worse way, but things cannot get any better if we donβt have the common sense to start from these small basics. Thank you all and I apologise it I broke the good vibes π Looking forward to see you all again soon!2 points

A huge thanks @Chaitanya D for this lovely experience of leading a drive through the most awesome of long range dunes in Dubai. From choosing the starting point to planning the route, convoy ordering and eventually turning this partial lead to almost a full drive lead - you simply made it an wholesome immersive learning experience for me. π€π Whole convoy (except map mixed up case with @Abdul Basit Khan) was right on time at Lisali Camel track and crossing through the dust track we entered the notorious Lisali's tech dunes at 6:30am, With lead handed over to me, the plan was clear, we breezed through the initial tech dunes and within minutes we were exploring the unexplored beautiful long range dunes of Lisali. After my last few drive in Qudra area, it was a relaxing sight to find some really beautiful dune with no cross tracks and early morning sun rising through east provided the trigger to SPEED UP . Convoy responded well to the challenge as crossing and side slopping through these beautiful dunes we reached DCT Waypoint 2 within an hour with only some minor refusals and need for a one soft tug executed perfectly by @Alfred Alinazar. We had a quick briefing and demo about basics of criss-crossing and were again speeding towards the next set of dunes experimenting with some nice steep side slopes and some sharp ridges to cross. Maneuvering through the bushy area we drifted to Murquab and were welcomed by a tricky technical patch. After a few refusals, stucks in the middle of convoy and a couple of amazing self recoveries executed by @Jessica Lambert we were back again onto the long range dunes.. Crossing through the DCT Waypoint 3 - it was pure Show Off time for the convoy , as we tried some back to back ridge crossing as well as rode through the ln of some sweet ridges. As we reached the passage through the Murquab farms, it was time for Master to take over and for next 30 min, convoy swept through some awesome dunes and had chance to explore awesome play areas. Exactly as planned, we were back again on dust track at 10 and ended the drive with a smile - a morning well spent Overall we travelled 48Km (a bit short of @DP1011 , Deepak wrangler estimate) at an average moving speed of 18Km/hr with a stoppage time of around 45min. which is a good indicator of how well the convoy handled the terrain. Wrangler boys @DP1011 , Deepak wrangler @RiaanJH @Peter Hager had perfect drive. @Mahmoud Taha and @Ashutosh Garg - hope you enjoyed the experience, refusals and stucks are what train us in self recovery process, i am sure our self recovery champion of the day @Jessica Lambert will support me on this. @Alfred Alinazar @Andrew McCarthy was nice catching up with you guys. Thanks again to all of you for your support and patience with me. Looking forward to drive with you all sometime soon.1 point
