It was almost a silent drive, we did not even need to talk much over the radio. Everybody was doing amazing job, going through the best selection of @Frederic of terrains. Thank you Fred for the drive, followed by master SL @GauravSoni . @Mahmoud Taha @Pascal and @Amr Aydin very nice and pleasure to meet you, and happy to see your performance all the way though, technical, high dunes, and ridge riding. In summary, one tug and concentrated shoveling exercise to get me out, thank you Fred and Gauravsoni for the same, other than that was just moving…moving..well done everyone. Look forward to see you again. Nice week ahead.

Thank you so much @Shaaz Sha @Thomas Varghese and @Looperfor the most challenging drive I have experienced so far. I feel like I made a huge leap in conquering my criss-crossing hesitation. I really appreciated the extra tehcnical coaching sessions in the breaks. I brought my friend Nick who is keen to start off-roading and I was very proud to show him how the Carnity family supports and guides each other. Once he has his X-terra he will be joining us on the dunes! It was a real pleasure driving with you all. I was worried someone would accuse me of not having my wheels pointed directly down, so I took photos to prove that it was my over-deflation + a bush at the bottom of the dune that were my undoing They will be on the gallery today! Thank you @Thomas Varghese and @Shaaz Sha for fixing it, I was amazed how you made it look so effortless.

I concur with @vibhav it is my first drive with Islam and my first Intermediate drive, it was great to see some old faces I haven't seen for a while, which was a great pleasure. Thank you @Islam Solimanfor the lovely drive today, which syarted with a loveley visit to say hello to the Ghosts at the village 😨 🤡 then some technical areas before hitting the big dunes, thank you for letting us play at the lovely Albadayer famous dunes! Thank you to all the drivers for a superb day in the desert. It was a long drive to reach the sand, but hey with no pain there is no gain. As mentioned in the briefing this was an area that I had in mind for the longest time, but perhaps it needed the kind of convoy that we had today to enjoy it to the fullest. A "warm up" at Old Lady Dune did set the tone for the drive, criss crossing on top of it was indeed special as you need a strong heart to do it, and I thank everyone for putting their trust and executing it so well. There are speed cameras but it's worth the effort. I was there last weekend and it was the most fun drive I've attended so far, beautiful sloping dunes, and not much soft sand, 100% recommended! I would love to join but I can't this week because of a friends birthday. Have fun guys and hopefully see you the following week...

Dear @Jessica Lambert, We are here to learn how to offroad safely. We never blame others for some mistakes. Of course mistakes should be avoided while offroading but its inevitable. Driving on tarmac is different from driving on sand. As we are practised driving on tarmac it will be not easy to shift to driving on sand so easily. Same reasoning when someone is not offroading for a long time the club advices to start with a lower level to get the feel of the drive again. Now you know how a pop out occurs this will be stored in your memory to avoid the same mistake again. Yes if you hit a bush hard the tire will pop out. This doesn't mean you will not have pop outs later as you will avoid the bush in the future drives. You only eliminated one of the reasons for a pop out. There are numerous more coming. Slowly and steadily you will learn the tricks of the sand driving and still get a pop out occasionally. Did you notice how I got crested very nicely even though I have done 105 drives. It was my mistake. The trip lead had asked to reroute as most of you were not experienced to ride that climbing ridge. That was a fewbie plus level ridge. I have done it numerous times before and thought let me try it and show all of you how it could be done. It was a foolish thing I did and should have stayed where I was and continued in the convoy. All of you saw the result and I myself made a fool out of myself. See you soon in the sands. Will see your friend too with a Xterra (hope its the 2015 prior model and not the new one) as you mentioned soon in the club.

Dear Dune Surfers, The Drive name says it all , the idea of this drive is to practice the skill and enjoy the thrill of riding on the Sand Ridges. This drive is Part 1 of 3 Skill Drive Series which will be posted in subsequent weeks depending on the Off road Plan with Carnity to balance all leads and drives to get as best possible a balance of variety in terms of challenges, drives, leads, terrains and areas. Part 1 - Ridge Rider Republic – Al Qudra – 14th May 2022 Part 2 - Criss Cross Country – Faqa ??– TBA Part 3 - Technical Terrain Transit - Will be posted in coming weeks All three are for Fewbie Plus and above only as we believe at this level you are well aware of your car, your driving style in sync with your car for these drives to learn, challenge and improve albeit safely. Please watch out for the subsequent parts in coming weeks and join in as per your availability. As the names suggest, we would be focusing on the Different skills for Dune surfing over the next few weeks. For Part 1 we will be driving in the long range dunes as much as possible. We will be taking the longer route from Qudra towards Lisaili which means we will be driving through area near Solar park and some technical patches to traverse between long range dunes hitting every ridge in safest way possible. Drive Time is expected to be 3 hours . We will be moving in parallel to the Dirt Track connecting Qudra to Lisaili in case of any early exits. We will specifically hit the areas in these terrains which will offer us maximum dunes for doing the drive purpose. Make sure you come with a full tank, Car in good conditions, recovery gear for this level (Radio, Flag, Deflator, Compressor, Kinetic rope and Soft shackles). Recovery points should be checked and in good conditions. It is preferable for the cars to have a front bash plate (6mm or more) to keep the radiator protected, if not it is at your own risk to join.
