Guys, Sweihan every year records the hottest temperature in UAE. If we start the drive late and have a bad stuck or issue closer to 10 AM, we will certainly get cooked. I do understand that the timings are not the best, but what I can promise that the drive would be worth the early morning rise. We can then have a quick night drive as a warm up4 points

let's start at 6 AM and extend the convoy to 12 drivers π4 points

Dear Dune Surfers, You slip - you Skip! This drive is the Third edition of the Skill Drive Series which had been posted in previous weeks for Ridge riding, criss cross and Technical terrain navigation, and Side Sloping As the names suggest, we would be focusing on the skills of Slip face climbing - attacking the dune from slip face during this drive. Every dune has a windward side and a slipface. A dunes windward side is the side where the wind is blowing and pushing material up. A dunes slip face is simply the side without wind. A slipface is usually smoother than a dunes windward side. The slip face are the softest part of the dune as the sand in not compressed ( pushed into) as there is no wind pressure. These slip faces usually have a high angle of attack ( between 30 to 35 Degrees) which makes it challenging and Fun to drive on. I always go back to watch this video as it is one of the most important and well explained ones available on Your tube: Make sure you come with a full tank, Car in good conditions, recovery gear for this level (Radio, Flag, Deflator, Compressor, Kinetic rope and Soft shackles). Recovery points should be checked and in good conditions. It is preferable for the cars to have a front bash plate (6mm or more) to keep the radiator protected Let us know If your vehicle is lifted more than 4 inch of OEM stock height as your 4x4 center of gravity will be high, and you need to factor this accordingly while doing the slip face attack. We expect every member that joins this drive to go through below information and and strictly follow these guidelines in order not to jeopardize someone's health, and to ensure we can keep organizing these drives safely. Hi @Mohamad Anwer While this will be my first time in Sweihan, I concur that meeting time will be challenging for those coming from Dubai, including me. I have noticed (from the map) that there is a gas station on E20, couple of KMs before the meeting point. Hi @Srikumar your flexibility would be most appreciated. Thanks2 points
