  4. Thanks Gaurav for an excellent practice drive. I always felt that up and over was my weak spot and today's practice was well needed. You had an excellent support team by the way; @Pacificand @Rob S you both were fabulous...Thanks and looking fwd to seeing you all again.

  5. Great morning in the sands! thanks @GauravSoni for leading us through the sands. Well done to @Jaro Tuzinskyin SL and @Tareck for sweeping us at the back! Thanks also to @Pacific with the shoveling as support team! Getting the right balance between Gas and momentum take some time, and changes vehicle to vehicle but plenty of practice today! We managed to recover most vehicles today with some good shoveling and digging "V" channels from the front and rear of the car allowing gravity to help us shift the sand from under the vehicle bellys! I didnt see much of the guys at the back today, but was watching in my mirrors for @jad, Well driven today for your first Fewbie, only one stuck that was resolved without a rope! In front was @Zulfikhar Naiyar, well driven today buddy, and good shoveling from your passenger! Make sure you balance the gap to the car in front with leaving room for stopping, but also close enough to watch the car in front to better judge the terrain and allow you to adjust accordingly. See you all again soon!

  13. Self quote from the past “Truly I was wondering sometimes about the deep secret of this magic that always bring me back to the desert.till today which was the “ straw that split the hump of the camel”. I sow it today in the desert through my little child ( 4 year old ) eyes when I decided to take him for a trip to Qudra lakes and ending ( not far ) on top of a nice small dune. He was so happy playing with the sand so do I ,running and climbing after each other. he didn’t want to leave so do I.but finally we had to leave and he said dad please take me with you always to desert. Here came the straw and I was the camel ! “ The passion to the desert became like the gravity pulling me to the earth and after more than two years driving in the sand I don’t think I will be leaving this magic planet . imagine those who spent all their lives doing it at least once per week . God help us all 🙏😅 yesterday was no different . I was honoured driving with all of you friends and we all did just fine and was even more pleasure sharing among us Tales and stories 🙏 Thank you all for joining this wonderful half moon night drive and hope to see you soon . 15. Dear Desertnauts as many, having just gotten back to Dubai, I am looking forward to a nice desert outing, that, if all goes as planned, will start gently at Bab al Shams, will increase in speed and rhythm through Qudra's southern quadrant, will maintain a good pace into the dunes leading to Ghantoot, where we'll cool down looking for oryx and sipping tea (if time permits) near the old date palm groves, prior to our exit at Ghantoot barracks. Hence, if you wish to bring tea, coffee and dates with you, we'll surely love to stop and enjoy right around sunset time. Considering the experience of the convoy (and its medium/short size), the drive could be bumped up to a bit more challenging than Fewbie), but in general it will be a great warm up for the cooler season to come. The convoy order will be the following: @Pierre de Maigret in Second Lead @Dinesh Kumar A at #3 @Sunil Mathew in the Center @Ignacio Quindós at #5 @Gurcharan Mehta at #6, and @Looper in Sweep. Radio channel will be decided before departing. Looking forward to see you tomorrow, I wish you all a great weekend.

  16. Hi @Senthil Kumar sorry won’t be able to add you… convoy is already pretty long as wanted to ensure first drive members are atleast accommodated. See you next time. At least happy that you had atleast one drive this weekend. 👍 Sailors, anyone who won’t turn up tomo would have to deliver 10ltr fuel to Senthil.
