Maybe the new Xterra owners can organize a get-together and DIY approach, under a more experienced supervision, like a mini-workshop ☺️

Thank you for the valuable advice @Rahimdad! I’ll try that first then.

You need to install ABS kill switch which will disable all your stability controls. For newbie drive it is not very important, but get it installed as soon as possible. ABS is not tuned well for off-roading in xterra it can occasionally kick in during steep slopes and keep releasing the tires making your xterra go down without break or control. You must kill the ABS if you are going for serious drives
I only have the Traction control switch button, and I do notice now that I'm doing more serious drives that the car needs ABS kill switch too. But I did fine without it in Newbie drives.

I myself came to learn a few tips and tricks and look at me now. @Srikumar just wanted an activity to get him away from the daily stress and he is the most involved. I am guessing you came here to just learn a few tricks for your expeditions, however you have managed to buy a beautiful X, sorry i forgot his name, Jawaher's boyfriend. Learned all you had to, but dug in deeper to understand this sport better, and now you are addicted to the sands just like the rest of us. Correct me if I am wrong. Congratulations on being one step closer to being a Marshal. Proud to have such a fantastic member on the team.
This truly means a lot to me @Rahimdad! And you are totally right. Since I found Paco, I have been learning so much. Even before, I was lucky to have you around, accepting me as co-pilot and teaching me everything there is to know whenever the opportunity arose. I extend my thanks to @Emmanuel, @Shamil, @Srikumar and the big boss @Gaurav. I also want to thank @Foxtrot Oscar for allowing me to wreck her car at the very start of this amazing experience! 😁

Thank you everyone! This is amazing news. I absolutely love my time with Carnity. I learn something new every drive, be it as a driver or a passenger. Thank you for the opportunities to be second lead and sweep which is a great learning curve.

Thank you @Rahimdad for the continuous kind words of encouragement and support that kept me looking forward to Carnity drives each week (When are we going to get midweek drives on the go? 😉). The highlight of the drive was to see you out in the sand again!
It would be remiss of me not to mention how much I enjoyed the drive and the scenery. Excellent job @Emmanuel choosing such a beautiful and hidden part of Dubai. Chapeau!!
Last but not least, the opportunity to experience the crisscross and the expert demonstration given was of an immense value. Thank you!

Fantastic route @Emmanuel ! And usual great support from @Rahimdad and @Shamil. Everybody did great and of course the girl power crew @Vanessa8580 @Foxtrot Oscar with some great driving skills . Unfortunate Shamil got stuck in a tight spot nevertheless , was a fun technical drive !
Posted some pics in the Album and here is a video from my side! Enjoy
A small correction as I was the other female driver whereas @Foxtrot Oscar was my copilot, who did the morning drive though. 😁

Many thanks to @Emmanuel, @Wrangeld & @Jeepie, and last but not least, @Ale Vallecchi for organizing, supervising and making the drive as fun as it could possibly be. I always learn something new in each drive, which exceeds my expectations when I joined the club. The heat caused some delays and deprived some drivers from fully enjoying the adventure. Be that as it may, the excitement was evident and the experience added another great memory to my UAE adventure repertoire.
Thank you @Wrangeld for the encouragement and the very nice words, particularly the supportive attitude towards women joining the club as active members.
See you all next Friday!

The drive started smoothly as it was, for many, the first one after a few weeks of lockdown. The enthusiasm was evident, and @Gaurav’s lead allowed all drivers to have fun as he gradually escalated the difficulty. Still, all drivers, including Newbies, were able to follow the pace with almost no refusals. We, hence, had more playtime, in addition to reaching the other side of Pink Rock before Iftar time.
I personally had lots of fun and was so glad to be back and see familiar faces as well as new ones!

Thank you @Srikumar for an amazing morning drive! Great choice of area and dunes, which allowed us to have more fun driving, as well as enjoy the scenery. @Brette was of great support, keeping the convoy together and moving forward.
I really appreciate @Srikumar’s trust in my driving skills! Your validation means a lot!

I have also thought about taking some automotive training courses to get more knowledge and experience handling car maintenance and problems, a better understanding of car mechanics. If Carnity organizes some in the future I would be happy to join. I can spare a few hundreds of dirhams for that purpose.
