  1. It was really  an adventures drive today since it was my first intermediate drive, me and my pajero did something today which never done before and i really wondered in some places how the car reacted in terms of power and climbs (of course i was in tip-tronic)  When i arrive at the deflation point and seeing all the king of desert Jeepers and FJ super power off road cars, i was thinking how do i able to keep the pace with my 3.5L LWB pajero and i think i was able to maintain the pace and route in a possible manner.

Thank you very much @Srikumar for organizing such an amazing route with lots of bowls and am really happy playing  super bowl and iftar bowl. And all the co drivers where doing amazing drive today. And it was sad as well as shocking to see the other club FJ has fired at the iftar bowl, even though we have help them for giving our fire extinguisher.

See you all soon, and wishing every one wonderful week ahead. Thank you.

You're a saint @Shiju Manuel I'll drive there tomorrow evening after work and take you up that offer, brother. I have a feeling whatever I get from the shop here in RAK tomorrow isn't going to be what I need. I'll message you in advance to let you know if I'm heading there.

@Lisa Pemberton no worries, just call me  1 or  2 hours before you are coming, so that i can inform him to keep the plate ready to fix and that way you don't required to wait there much.

@Shiju Manuel I actually called Raju at the place in Ajman you recommended but he doesn't speak English or his number has changed. I also WhatsApped Al Reem Garage your thread and pics but no dice :(.

@Lisa Pemberton you follow the google map location to Al Reem Garage in Ajman, once you reach there just call me (055 7890094) i will explain him what to do. Even you can just show him the rear bumper and he is self understandable what to do.

@Wrangeld I'm having real trouble getting my rear bumper replaced after last Friday's drive saw it try to escape the rear of my Pajero. Am I OK to drive if I arrive and remove it for this weekend's drive?

Hi @Lisa Pemberton you can fix a rear bumper plate to support and avoid scooping of sand. You can check there is a thread in the forum for this solutions.

Mr. @Shiju Manuel from the first drives at Carnity where you were a little tentative to seeing you scale the heights and slopes in recent weeks, the development in your driving has been fantastic to watch. I am delighted for you that you reached this level within Carnity, which is totally deserved.

I look forward to watching your continued development and growth in the club and driving with you on many more drives.

This is a really pleasing promotion.

Yes @Wrangeld i do remember that, you sit with me in my car one of my newbie drive and given lots of confidence to over come the fear of heights and slopes. Thanks for all the support and guidance and love to drive with you and learn lots of things. See you soon in Sand. Cheers

Thanks @Gaurav bai ,  Carnity and the entire Marshals for the good news and the appreciation. I would say one thing in this moment that if i was not joined in Carnity off-road club i would have never think of driving in desert and a passion in off-roading. Still leaning and need to learn lot of things with all good people and experts in the club.

Special thanks to all the marshals 😊

With regards to the Pajeros on Fewbie level drives, i agree tip-tronic seems to work better as the automatic gearbox of the Pajero is a bit slow in reacting, which results in the driver pushing the pedal harder, which then results in the transmission downshifting. So basically a continous loop of the driver trying to tell the transmission what to do. For that reason on Fewbie level drives the tip-tronic on the Pajeros works better and results in less up and down shifting, hence less heat will be generated.

I takes a bit of practice, and when you are not doing sideys or climbs you can still put it back into D mode.

See what works for you, and an extra fan can be of help too of course.

@Frederic i do exactly as you mentioned, use tip-tronic 2nd gear mostly on sideys and short climbs and 1st gear for steep climb. And other than that i use D in normal flat surfaces. And when use tip-tronic it never upshifted automatically and we can down shift to lower gear if we need more power. It may take little practice to play around with gears. And  after i installed the extra fan i have never encounter the problem of over heating. I have an ON/OFF button on dash board and i use it mostly only on desert, and some times on day time when the car in under the sun for long time. ( so that i can cool down the AC bit faster). Adding a Fan is a good option and not much expensive too.

  9. Thanks @Jeepie for the nice morning drive and also given me the responsibility of second lead, i hope i have managed to reroute and announce the cautions where ever necessary except two places where i had no view infront of me and by the time you took the radio to announce am already stuck  and thanks for pulling  me out which i got a nice opportunity to test my new viking rope which got it from @Rahimdad early morning today 😄

We all had a good time at the play area with multiple time attempt and heading towards Faya was really enjoyable with high dunes.

See you soon. Few Pcs uploaded in gallery.

You can and should get 10W-40 fully synthetic in Castrol, Shell, Total but you cant get one in Mobil 1 as they have 0W30 in fully synthetic range.

Hi @Gaurav i have changed to Mobil 1 engine oil two weeks before as per your advice, its bit costlier but i could feel the difference in engine noise and no over heating in off roading. Thank you.

    Thanks @RaYan E & @Mels Wolf I will check it.

I am looking for complete lower guard like the picture below. Can someone suggest me some shops to buy this.

    @Shiju Manuel & @RohanH

     any idea?

    pajero_engineguard.PNG

Hi @Sinol i have done the following method on my pajero

    1. Front side - fixed 8mm skid plate ( photo attached) from Al Jazeera turning sharjah. They will remove the stock Water tank guard and engine guard and fix the plate in that position.

Cost - 8mm plate with powder coating + fixing + front bumper lower cutting - AED 1090

    2. Rear side - fixed a aluminium plate supporting the bumper to avoid scooping of sand.

Cost - AED 100  ( done in a garage in Ajman) details already posted in this thread, just scroll back.

    So far both working perfectly.
