DRIVE RSVP IS NOW CLOSED Looks like a very nice convoy ! We will be using Channel 1: 446.006 Mhz. Please bring your off-road gears as per your level, and be on time (or before so you have ample time to deflate and get your coffee). We will be making regular small breaks, and have a lunch break at noon. You can bring some snacks, sandwiches. Make sure you bring enough water for the full day. See you tomorrow !

Bring your garbage bags to collect the trash What to expect Drive level will be strictly Newbie level - easy - to enjoy the cool weather outside and reach our camping spot. No need for extra off road lights, high beams with fog lamps is ok. camping in the desert for a whole night for some who have not done before will be a nice experience. I have recently got the new IOS update on my phone and Safari browser is now behaving quite strange. Carnity web page was acting strange as well. After trying with Google chrome there seems to be no issue.

I'm having the same issue latelt in Safari. Sometimes the page doesn't load at all and most of the items it is very slow. Tried other browsers and they seem ok.

Hi, I have a question in regards to the the wheel spacers. As i have lifted my car 2.5 inches i was thinking to install some wheel spacers to maintain the center of gravity. But i was un able to find any article mentioning the ratio of lift to the spacer width that needs to be used. Is it something like 1 to 1 ( if i lift 1 inch i will need to have a 1 inch wheel spacer ) Your expert advice is highly appreciated. Thanks

I wouldn't recommend spacers as they stress the bearings of the car, would suggest to look into new rims with a slight negative offset to compensate for the lift. Not an expert, just what I read online

There is no plan for app, as the size of content we have no app developer can guarantee less than 2 secs page load, that is very much doable with webpages, faster browsers, cdn edge servers and faster internet. It refreshes for guest user only to fetch new content. If you use site as a logged in user, it never refreshes.

So far, i have done the 1:1 ratio (2inch lift with 2 inch wheel spacers) but be careful to test if the tyres are not rubbing anywhere. Make sure to get them from a reputable brand like H&R and are hub-centered. You really don't want to create any wheel inbalance with these cheap spacers.

Hi @Rob Soughton I totally agree with what has been said earlier. My toy for work and desert is Nissan Xterra my experience: 1.I landed 🛬 to the AN with 10 mm thick Xterra logo Skid and under radiator plate ( still not mandatory for the AN drive , but that was me ) . Also AT tires ;( the previous tires already run long time with previous owner ) so I put them on and sailed the AN with 😎 2. From my second FB I installed the ABS/traction kill switch , ( but pulling the corresponding fuses also can do ) , were I found it more convenient. 3. Off road lights I installed them when I reached advisor level ( although not mandatory) if you are not the first car . No major mods now and later for me ( lift/ suspension / engine / chips / boosters / nitro 🤣 … etc ) With all that no ridge nor crest was spared day or night so far 😅 Land is ours but choice is always yours finally . My name is there , I can’t stay as well for the night for personal reasons , I saw in the above comments that staying over night is not optional so better I leave the space for another colleague who is willing to spend the night and leave by early morning . @Chaitanya D thanks and have a lovely ride guys . The general rule of thumb is if you go 2 inch high you go 1 inch wide. But this depends from car to car.

Now that I have been accepted for this drive, i will be coming with my 2 boys as well. First time spending the night in the dessert - looking forward to this experience

Skid plate , bumper cut , and a flag mount! Should be enough even for higher levels. @Rob Soughton you did well in Liwa which is a challenge with a stock car , and hence you know it now that it is the skills than the mods which matter. you can add as the ones you have wear out - AT tires, suspension , etc. word of caution here as some garages may push you to do these mods - but make a informed decision. Once you have mastered your skills with a stock car, it becomes way easier with these add ons - the most important notably are the skid plates and the all terrain tires. Lift or suspension will be an advantage especially for ridge rides and criss crosses , but even with stock you should not have much issues .

Feel free to bring your friends, families and kids with their age-specific toys or games to enjoy brilliant outdoor activities. Please bring your own: Food / Grill / Cooking and serving arrangements Drinks and Ice (of course). Chairs / Mats / Camping Gear if you want to camp overnight. Action Plan: At 7:30 PM we will have Carnity Seniors to meet and greet you at the meeting point next to the DEWA station and guide you towards the actual location where we will setup the party tents which is only 5min away. At 8 PM SHARP they will leave this meeting point and bring everyone inside the desert. I would definitely take that car to another service to take their ideas. Habtoor might have not checked it properly. Don't tell them someone told you to change the shocks just tell them about your sound issue and lets see if they are also saying the same thing.

Hello is the final camping deep in the desert or close to road ?

Hi everyone! I'm driving a 2015 Toyota Land Cruiser. Haven't got any prior off-roading experience. I can confirm the car's got front and rear tow hooks and at least 8 inches of ground clearance. Looking forward to it!

Thanks @Ashhad Siddiqui, i have tried it myself but didnt work , so i took it to a workshop in sharja they removed the right clip and it worked . apparently they are 2 identical clips the 2nd one is the correct one ( which is deep inside more above the accelerator pedal ) at least for my car model. Thanks

You don't need to do a PCR, they don't even check the Al Hosnnapp. You need to drive to the checkpoint, and they will scan your forehead with their mobile device. Once clear you are free to cross the checkpost. If not conclusive, you will be asked to do an Antigen test which will take about 20 mins.

Consider yourself lucky @Rob Soughtonwith owning one of the few 4x4 cars that are comfortable on road, yet very capable offroad as well, and with a Toyota badge the reliability and resale value are your extra gold coins. I agree with was has been said earlier, the skid plate is a good add-on, and perhaps later you can choose between trimming the bumper a bit or going for a 2" lift kit. Once the HT tyres are on their way out, you will definitely find improvement with AT tyres that will allow you to deflate further down and improve flotation.

Suction cup is good enough for light weight flag pole. If you are using heavy pole the one which is available in ACE hardware requires a proper fabricated bracket bolted to your vehicle.
