It was a good crew and we DID have fun! Thank you so much @Hisham Masaadfor leading a great drive. With more than able assistance from @Rob Sat CF and @Pacificat sweep we plowed a straight furrow through the beautifully refreshed Sharjah dunes (thank you weather). A good mix of technical switchbacks and dramatic bowls joined by some lovely flowing ridges made for an intense morning of fun and stress. Special thanks to @Rob S's lovely passenger for the motivation to try harder, I'm sure he wasn't paraphrasing... Also a special mention to @Mohamad Anwer for pushing me up the hills and @Tom Bfor cheering me down the hills. Looking forward to dragging this crew to Sweihan soon!11 points

Cant have enough words or any courage to rephrase the event...mindboggling. Surreal experience....everyone did the best, though few refusal, bound to happen due to the softness of sand. Everyone has made mark on one or other dune of badayer(hisham) ๐ @Mohamad Anwer. Thank you @Hisham Masaad it was, is and will be great fun to be on your drive. Good to see new folks @Alexanderrr n @Joji varghese. Rest all @Mohamad Anwer @Warren Flay mighty @Mark D, curious learner @Tom B you all were immaculate Proudy prados @ASAD. and @Rob S great. Thank you @Ale Vallecchi for initiating the drive, and giving me the opportunity to lead the second part. You were great support and inspiration for the preparation and during the drive itself. From my Absolute Newbie drive that I did with you until today, i have always appreciated the care you take in the selection of the itineraries and the execution of your drives. The first part was a flawless warmup through the high dunes of Quadra around the crescent lake. Perfect start under the lead of @Ale Vallecchi to enjoy the morning light and the virgin sands, but already requiring full awareness of the drivers. A only a few gazelles and cyclists (wildlife ?) were around at this early time. Then we crossed the pylon track to reach the Ghantoot area, and Ale handed over the lead to me. This second portion of middle size dunes is challenging as they are quite tight in places, and present steep slip faces closing the way. But it is the perfect terrain to exercise our driving skills, and it was a pleasure to find a way through the sand valleys, crossing the ridges, riding the crests. There were some traps in the form of soft bowls, sand pockets, or sharp crests leading to a few stucks and refusal, including me being crested, all of them sorted without issue with the support of @Davie Chase and @Waqas Parvez. Then came the third portion, more open with wider dunes and some hard flat sabkha surface between them. Driving there might have been easier, but we were facing another challenge, finding the mighty oryxes, purpose of the drive. The beasts had left their home vacant, with only one of them guarding the place, and we had to wander the area to find the herd. I could finally spot them atop of a crest and we had our 10 min of literally ยซ chasing the oryx ยป, the front cars driving on their side or just behind them, keeping a reasonable distance. The oryxes being clearly superior to our cars in the sand, we turned our way back to reach the exit, to the relief of the passenger of @Harshal. @Ashutosh Garg @Paolo Pellegrini @Vaibhav @Paolo Morresi @RiaanJH @Davie Chase @DP1011 , Deepak wrangler @Pascal @Waqas Parvez it was a pleasure to have you in the drive. Thanks again @Ale Vallecchi for the guidance and support. Enjoy the long weekend and see you soon on the sand !8 points

Thanks @Ale Vallecchi and @JeromeFJ for your lead. Very nice drive, one of the best so far(at least for me). Nice speed and nice dunes. I loved the more technical dunes at the beginning. @RiaanJH was really nice the share the experience and the little secrets of our phenomenal cars. Hope to see you all next week.8 points

@Hisham Masaad, what a drive! Brilliant fun with a superb crew. The best drive I have had in Badayer so far. How these cars hold up with the endless climbing I will never know. Everyone drove superbly and the few stucks we did have were all self recovered which meant we were able to cover almost 60 km this morning! @Rob S, as always, great job as CF. And @Pacific as sweep. @Warren Flay and @Mohamad Anwer you guys drove flawlessly today and thoroughly deserve promotion to IM level. Enjoy the Eid break and see you all soon.8 points

One of the best ride so far with Carnity. @Ale Vallecchi don't mind going too technical as at the beginning, let's do more! @JeromeFJ you were amazing in taking the lead. I love your car and I think I'll go for that one day! I also loved those 5 - 10 minutes we were driving without interruptions and without any comms only the engine noise. See you soon!7 points

I was bit early to the drive location. After having seen how much time it would take during the Friday afternoon rush time, I prepared to come here accordingly which was almost 20 min early even after stopping for an early morning Coffee and fuel up. Soon enough rest of the team joined. The morning was surprisingly cool and was Faqa was a perfect place to begin the drive, as the Sun rose in the east we began with a briefing. Soon we headed toward the dunes. Plan was to first cross the technical dunes to reach the long range dunes. On the way had two refusal at the same time when @Abdul Basit Khan and @Alfred Alinazar both simultaneously landed in small pocket-ish places. We tugged @Abdul Basit Khan and reached @Alfred Alinazar. While he self recovered himself, masterfully guided by @GauravSoni form one, but directly went ahead and found himself in another one. This time it did not seem like he could recover so we winched him out. Soon we started to move in the technical dunes towards the long range dunes but @imranaasghar81 thought it would be an appropriate time to take revenge on his sea captain friend, making him sick, because he made our friend sick 4 years ago ๐. Luckily we were near an exit so we exited them and continues towards our main play area. The desert in this area was fresh and unblemished by tracks and we had lot of fun. There were a few refusals here but that was part of the learning. Without refusals you will learn ๐. On the way exit we had a Baja run and yours truly still rules Baja๐ฅณ. Finally a timely exit at solar park, before the sun start to scorching the desert. A big thank you to @GauravSonifor a great drive and @Anish S for the regulatory support. Also thanks to the senior members @Ranjan Das & @Ashok chaturvedi for the guidance. It was a great performance by @Jessica Lambert, @KAMALIO, @Alfred Alinazar and @Abdul Basit Khan well done all. Few pics will be posted to gallery soon.7 points

Good morning Team ! Thanks for signing up for this drive, some of you have done this terrain already before, while for other it will be the first time. What to expect ? This is not your typical dunebashing and sidesloping terrain, as it varies from lushy green terrain into farmtracks, and includes some nice technical terrain to test all your skills. We will exit in Falaj Al Mualla, which has the famous watch towers, and is officially in Umm al Quwain, so in fact we will be driving in 2 Emirates Bring your camera and try to enjoy the terrain, as we expect to see goats, donkeys, camels, and lots of vegetation. Consider this more to be a kind of overlanding exploration. I am sure we will have fun and i particularly like the area because there are no other offroaders in sight. As for the convoy list: @Anoop Nair will be on his 51st drive, which i can only applaud as he has come very far and i know i can rely on him 100% to be my second lead. In the center, we will have @Davie Chase who has been recently promoted to support team, and will be eager to demonstrate his magnificent shoveling skills ๐ Towards the back we have really experienced members, and it's great to see @Probir Mukherjee back with us in Carnity. @topgear, and most-probably his super-co-pilot that will be with him will be sweeping our convoy. We will be using Channel 1: 446.00625 Mhz. I hope to see you all tomorrow at 4PM sharp, there will be a small part of the drive in dark, which changes the whole perspective on driving in the sand. There is no need for extra night lights on your 4x4, but if you have them be ready to test them7 points

Dear Desertnauts. Welcome to this drive. Our goal will be to move alongside the western border of Al Marmoon's Conservation Area, entering just off the road to Bab al Shams Resort, reaching the Solar Park's pylon lines, and proceeding south from there, until we'll reach a large enclosure and feeding area populated (usually) by a great deal of Oryx. The Oryx Express will test a mix of skills, needed to overcome a couple of technical areas with tall, sharp, ridges and deep soft bowls, as well as long range, more open, dunes. Considering we plan to exit on E14, inland from Sheik Zayed Road, not too close to any gas stations (21 km to the nearest one), it's recommended that you start with a full tank (fill up at Qudra's Last Exit ADNOC station). The convoy order, chosen to alternate Internediates with Fewbie drivers, will be as follows: @JeromeFJ in Second Lead @Ashutosh Garg at #3 @Paolo Pellegrini #4 @Vaibhav at #5 @Paolo Morresi #6 @RiaanJH at #7 @Davie Chase at Center Forward @DP1011 , Deepak wrangler at #9 @Waqas Parvez #10 @Pascal at #11 @Harshal #12, and @munkybizness will Sweep. Looking forward to see you tomorrow morning, ready to leave as close to 6:30 am as possible. Have a nice evening.2 points
