Thank you @Shaaz Sha for your fantastic lead last Sunday. It was an amazing route and a great opportunity to learn and consolidate my skills. Faqa is a really challenging area, at least for me, and requires to be fully focused while you are driving, and that is exactly what I’m aiming for when I go off-roading. So many thanks for offering this route. I hope to see you again soon!! Thank you @Thomas Varghese for sharing your gear with the convoy, and @Sudhanva Sonawane and @Imteeaz for your wise advise during my refusal at the end of the day. Hi Brette, I have all of the above. Only weak point is my truck's low profile tyres, but they were OK when I did the course with Gaurav 2 weeks ago. My experience is limited to straight line driving on the beach in Namibia and the 4 hours I spent with Gaurav 2 weeks ago. I am looking forward to the drive on Saturday. Regards Paul

Track was mix of every thing off-roader might look at to test and evaluate his car power, and his knowledge of how to handle these situations. Dear Desert Explorers Hello and welcome. please if you sign to this drive i request you to pay attention to the following important points : its obvious from the title its an exploration drive. its a completely new grid for us to explore even i didn't find a trace of any public tracks other than the one leading to some farms or reserves which are many in this area. the grid is about 20 km from Alshuwaib dam north to al hair south and about 12 km from oman boarders east to E55 al shuwaib um al quwain road west in its largest dimensions. however and after studying carefully different maps the terrain is quite different in sand topography due to the geographical area where this area exist and this stems from being subjected to different wind blow directions resulting in unusual dune formation which keeps changing meaning what we will find tomorrow might be modified after couple of weeks later and this is not even updated on the best maps. having said that be ready to expect the unexpected ( double slip faces , sudden steep and abrupt drops , super soft sand , star shaped dunes ...etc ). I have chosen this area to explore the beauty of it ( eastern rocky mountain boarders , many fenced and unfenced trees and water in the middle of the yellow dessert. also its unique location which is feasible from the coming from Sharjah and north emirates as well as from Abudhabi and Dubai. As its an exploration drive in completely not visited area at least by us i preferred to keep the level of the drive to intermediate limited to 8 participants with at least 2 drives in their rank. the desert is a place to explore and this is the beauty of it and its worth the risk which can be significantly reduced with better planning so please check your vehicle and gear from today that both are ready and complete for your rank. check your spare tire and the tools required to un and install the spare when needed and be familiar please of how to do it. more information to come yet when we approach the drive it self . Drive report Absolutely agree with what @Loopermentioned in above message, it was indeed a 100/100 fun considering the short convoy of 4 cars . @takeshi sobue did well for a 2nd lead , though we had hardly any issues as we hit some nice clean dunes for the most part. Rising fuel prices and soaring temperatures have taken a bit of toll - in a nicer way to keep the dunes clean in an area which is mostly studded with cross tracks. Impressive driving and clean climbs all the way to the top of big red @Zulfikhar Naiyar drove well in his xterra except for some refusals and minor stucks/ crest. You did well playing in “D” for the most part , but as you progress you need to play with your gears for the long steep climbs . It is just a matter of time and practice which will get you there easily. last but definitely not the least @Looper presence on the drive added that reassurance that we played at a reasonable pace without holding back. Great team man to have on any drive - with full of enthusiasm and something new every time on his yellow Jeep 😜😀. have fun you all, u till we meet next time sooner or later.

It was a short convoy, all the attendees joining just a day before the drive. 3/4th of this convoy was 1/4th of the convoy from the previous day drive at Ghantoot with @JeromeFJ I came from a night drive with @Kailas and was afraid i might not be able to drive to the fullest potential, but it turned out to be a fantastic drive and kept me fully awake and I enjoyed every second of it without any feeling of fatigue. The drive was not only refreshing but also a master class in technical dunes. However improbable, in to find virgin dunes in Nazwa, it was not impossible for @Chaitanya D. It felt like a joy ride to me, gliding from one dune to another till we reached big red. @takeshi sobue who speaks seldom was made second lead and did an excellent job in that position. He always kept a safe distance and matched the lead step for step, dune over dune acknowledging every instruction from the lead. It is a delight to hear his car's roar when he took it effortlessly up the tall dunes. He has superb control over his car - well done. @Zulfikhar Naiyar faced some hesitation on climbing the big red but towards the end he too had better grip over the techniques and for sure had some fun learning how to go about it. Thank you @Chaitanya D for a great drive on Sunday morning, It was everything I was expecting from your drive to be. Had fun 100/100.

Its only a suggestion which I hope @Carnity management will consider. As summer is at its peak and driving in the desert sands after 10am is very demanding I wish Carnity management will consider hosting drives in other areas of offroading in UAE like the mountains, Umm Al Qwain mangroves at least for FB+ drivers & above. After all offroading doesn't mean strictly driving on sands. Offroading means driving where no proper paths are available. Its only a proposal for the club to consider. Most of us are proficient on sands but other areas of offroading is still left out just for the pleasure of driving on sands and I wish the club will consider this to make us all a complete offroader.

Thank you @Hisham Masaadfor an amazing drive. This was one of the best Intermediate drives i have been in @CarnityWaking up early in the morning and driving 1 hour to meeting point was just worth it. I know we could not do a Mad Max Plus as @Srikumarcould not make it and definitely everyone missed him. Everyone in the convoy drove exceptionally well. Yes there were few refusals in the start but surprisingly not on the big dunes. When everyone saw the the big dunes they unleashed their inner MAD MAX with hardly any refusals. Special mention @Fabien Monleau I remember last intermediate drive we drove with @Shaaz Shaat the same location and you had challenges with climbing the slopes but this drive you did exceptionally well without any issues. Seems like you have got the secret to tame the beauty. The sand was very soft making it difficult for the back of the convoy as they would get all churned sand. But the drives under the belt of each driver at the back of theconvoy shows how much experience they had and drove without any issues. Lastly @Hisham Masaadwe wanted more of the last part but a very good decision to end the drive at 9 am as it was getting hot. @ASAD. @Simon Dawood @Fabien Monleau @Waqas Parvez @Mohamad Anwer @Daniel Yang @Chris Wing @Ashok chaturvedi @Amir Amiri @Ranjan Das Thank you for being part of the amazing Convoy. @Rizwanm2 thank you very much for a fantastic drive. Bar far the most challenging drive I’ve been on, loved all elements especially the ridge ridding, concentration levels were through the roof. I certainly have things to work on, especially climbing the big dunes. @Hisham Masaad apologies for you having to drive right behind me, I am sure it wasn’t the most elegant thing to watch. Thank you @Sunil Mathew & @Tom B for your kind words. I joined this drive to support my friend @Rizwanm2 on his 1st drive as a lead. I was not disappointed and neither do I feel anybody else who joined would be. It is always a pleasure meeting new friends in the drive. @Sam K who drove behind me did exceptionally well. @Jonny90 behind him did too. The surprise was @Gurcharan Mehta who I am meeting for the 1st time and his LC. Drove exceptionally well. It was a beauty to watch him climb all the dunes with ease. The sunrise was beautiful but more beautiful was the grin on @Rizwanm2's face from ear to ear right from the beginning of the drive till the end. Well done buddy. Wish you all the best. You will also have much fanfare as a lead in coming days. Nothing to comment on @Hisham Masaad as he is always at his best behind the wheels. I don't wish to comment on a maestro and make him look ordinary.

The bolt was complete cracked, I was curious maybe because of the first side sloping i was landed quite hard.
