@M.SeidamDoc thank you for lovely drive. Leading a convoy is like taking a bullet first as the path is unknown. The calmness and passion you have really makes the drive fun. Nagrah dunes was in the wishlist. But too many cross tracks made it difficult thats why I suggested to go to old lady dune but time was less as we did had double bonanza from @DP1011 , Deepak wrangler with pop out and Stuck in the convoy which everyone got into action for quick fix. Special mention @Santoso Marjuki @Imran Kashif@Karthik Raptor@Imteeaz@ASAD. @DP1011 , Deepak wranglerand @Haitham Khattab for amazing team work in the drive and supporting stuck and pop out. Lets not forget the Star of the drive @Waqas Parvezwho saved each of our cars from getting bumper damages with amazing second lead and guiding us through rough patches and safe passage.

Thank you @M.Seidam for the fantastic drive. Nagrah has always been on my bucket . It is a gorgeous terrain that will require many more visits to thoroughly explore. Nevertheless, we all had a terrific time, climbing some of the high dunes, everyone in the convoy @Haitham Khattab @Santoso Marjuki @Imteeaz @Imran Kashif @ASAD. @Karthik Raptor @DP1011 , Deepak wrangler drove excellent with lot of focus and control. @Vaibhav thank you for looking after the convoy at the back and assisting in support whenever required.

Dear Sand Sailors Thanks for joining in for drive today. What an interesting day in sand. We had the whole convoy on the spot, on time. 👍A day when all ⏰⏰decided to ring on time 😀 Somehow seems it was the case for the whole of Dubai. 6am at Qudra felt like Friday night at some nice places in Dubai 🤔 . High carbon foot print of our vehicles meant we had to find new starting point and eventually work out a completely new route. But then with lead so amazing 😎 and convoy so cool 😘, though an hour late we eventually managed to find our way into sand. And for next 45 min it was all about vroom vroom in the sand as in line with theme of the drive, we covered around 25Km in 45min. Brilliant job all. 👍👍 Ofcourse this was followed by an awesome hour of fixing pop out (and eventually change the leaking tyre) in a trickiest of soft pocket. Challenge took its time but eventually gave up to the team work of this convoy. It was already 930am when we started again and with sun shining bright, we sailed at high speed through some of the softest patches of sand and explored ourselves in awesome dunes that Ghantoot offered. Apart from couple of minor refusals and stucks including mine all managed the terrain very well as we exited the drive at 1030am. We managed to drive fast (average moving speed on dunes was around 28kmph) however thanks to multiple challenges on the day, the moving time ended up very short - around 1.5 hr. I really enjoyed the route and thanks to your response, will surely plan a re-attempt on the same in coming weeks. Thanks all for being patient amidst all the challenges and making it a nice outing in the morning. There's a certain amount of mystery in the air every time @Islam Soliman takes to the sands. And no doubt, on this hazy Saturday morning, as my Patrol pierced rammed through the fog settled in Faqa hopping over every hump in my way, I could feel the unknown getting bigger and bigger still. After all, when Islam takes you to Faqa, you know there's going to be lots of sideys. Lots and lots of it I arrived late to the meeting point so without any pleasantries, I jumped right away into setting up my flag and deflating my wheels. To the left, a duotone classic caught my eye. I assumed it was a mirage (or the fact that I was still waking up). It's only when I was all done, did I realize that what I'd assumed was a mirage was just that - a cool blue sight with a shimmering white top in the form of a classic Land Cruiser 70. There's only two people I know who look after these with this much care. And from the roster, I knew it was @Mohamad Anwer. What I didn't know was everything that had transpired in the past month and same to bring this blue bird rather than his usual supercharged box. After hearing the story, I was and am just so glad to see him on his feet, smiling away as a beautiful sun peeked across the horizon. He, of course, came back to the desert not just with a classic, but one with "balloon" tyres. If ever you needed a greater sense of how to conquer your fear, it was on this morning with Mohamed piloting a car with tyres designed only for the most courageous. With seventeen cars on the roster, this was no small convoy and definitely one that I hadn't witnessed in many months. Ahead of me lay some fresh newbies and with it came the responsibility to also not push too hard. To make matters even more interesting, the foggy and humid night before had seeped moisture into the sands making them clump up after every passing car. So, by the time it came to car #4, the tracks were already deep and compacted. The fact that nobody had a severe popout, save the partial one, is a testament to how well the convoy drove in these conditions. If you drive long enough with Islam, you begin to recognize that he has a unique skill in positioning his behemoth of a car, in the middle of a dune face. I am going to call him the Dunesurfer from now on for this exact reason. And behind him, a very competent and supportive @Benjamin kept up. This is exactly why Islam pushed the pace as much as he did in this newbie drive. Between Benjamin and I, was a team of newbies all coming to terms with their machines and it reminded me of my early drives and both the lack and exuberance of throttle I too would put in then. Keeping the right gap also seemed hard for each driver. But all I will say to each one of you is that you don't need to think so hard. Practice makes better, and you will get better at this. The more important thing to focus on is throttle management. And it is a skill I am still learning to this very day. Over time, you'll know what is just enough as you get closer to what your machine is telling you. @Frans M, driving a manual LC70 is no easy feat. And if you ever need the guidance, there is no better voice than @Mohamad Anwer. Please do connect with him. Not only is he one of the most amazing human beings, but his knowledge of the platform will also give you tremendous insight into how to better yourself. The going away of the fear and the understanding of which line to take, will come with time. @Stan, whether your car is green or black or sparkly is a debate that will rage on for some time to come. But what you should know is that you have a very capable machine, but it too has its limitations, apart from the restrictions that the desert will throw at you. You already have a good grasp on how to read the lines of the desert. For now, in your newbie drives, err more on the side of caution and exit out rather than trying to fight gravity and muscle your way up. With time, you'll find exactly how to surf the dune face while managing your fishtailing effortlessly like Islam does. We have an unwritten rule that we don't enforce this early on about "leaving the lightest of tracks". This comes when your car is using just the right amount of momentum that it floats over dunes rather than digging in and churning up the track. @Bashar Beasha, it's always nice to see another Y61 on the convoy roster. And yours is a stunner. It also has oodles of power that you will get better at managing as the drives go by. Trust me, I've been in your exact seat. Where you were good at climbing up the dune, you continued to throttle too hard through the dune face even when your car was slipping down in the wake of tracks left behind. In situations like these, it's always better to exit out rather than trying to pitch your nose up again and try to climb up. Towards the end of the drive, I could see you exiting out early and taking a loop to re-attempt. This is the right way to do it. There is no shame in re-attempting a climb. One of my early issues was that I would always worry what people would think about how terribly I was driving such a legendary car, so much so that it got into my head and for many drives and I couldn't shake it off. That may not be an issue for you but almost all new off-roaders are significantly worse than what their car is capable of. This is why even the most experienced off-roaders still do Newbie drives when they get a new car because no two cars are the same. Through practice, they inch up and closer to what their machine can truly do in their hands and with their feet. And to @Gary F behind me, all I can say is that apart from that crest which gave our shovels and your arms quite the workout, you drove really well. I especially liked seeing how you chose the line and height that you were most comfortable with. You do have a long long-wheelbase motor so it will require even more attention when crossing ridges and doing narrow twisties, but on long range open dunes, you were up to the mark. And I loved seeing the smile that was constantly plastered on your passenger's face. It's moments like these that really instill the awe of adventure and motoring into the young ones. Finally, I would be remiss if I didn't call out my favorite security detail (@Simon Dawood) who would be by my side in every refusal and recovery. Having you shoulder to shoulder is a real pleasure and thank you for your input. In bouncing ideas off of you, I learn so much. In the back, thank you @Gaurav Soni for playing an excellent shepherd running up and down the ranks and sniffing out the tracks. It saved me a couple of times. And since we left none of the seventeen behind, thank you @ASAD. for sweeping us up and depositing us ever so gently back where we started. See you all out on the sands soon. [ 🐵 ]

Thanks for the feedback @Bashar Beasha.. it’s natural during early drives that you have such a feeling .. we have all been there .. it takes a couple of more drives to get the comfort and confidence. You did very well for the level and for sure whenever you feel you need more time/space to feel more comfortable don’t hesitate to share on the radio or 1:1. As we always say during the briefing and throughout the drive, we want to have fun and keep it interesting for everyone but there is no competition or stress as safety is no 1 for all.

Really enjoyed this drive and have learned a lot. Thanks @Islam Soliman and @munkybizness for your tips and guidance throughout the drive. But I have to admit there were more side slopping (is this also called sidies?) than my nerves could handle 🙈 But I understand this will need practice to be able to handle those better. However as a newbie, would it be better for me to wait for the car that is in front of me to clear the dune before I start to move? Even if I leave a space of around 8-10 cars, I still found myself closing the gap really quickly when doing the side slopping and having to slow down or sometimes braking which makes me lose momentum.

The US Inlet male connector is used by ARB. If it does not work on yours - may be the japanese type could work. In the picture below it has the clip on Air Cuck installed on the Air Gun, But as i mentioned earlier I used the Threaded type inflatable nozzel shown below and added an extra nozzle on top of it.

@Jessica Lambert, I used following: 1. Busgrabger 3-in-1 Tire Gauge & Deflator: that i had bought at Ace Hardware you might get it on Amazon as well. 2. A generic Inflation gun off Amazon. It came with two types of air chuck one to screw and another clip on. I have used the screw type on my inflation gun in and on top of that I added clip on air chucks (i bought separately) so i have both available for use. It also comes with two types of connections 1 for ARB and other one i guess can be used on Meanmother. We could have tested the other connector on your compressor, while I made a note of it at the beginning of the drive, I forgot at the end of the drive.

Hi @Carnity family, Posting this to the Pajero community following the nice gesture from @Hisham Masaad to help out community members. Following that I decided to pay it forward by sharing some of my Pajero accessories. These are Matt black mirror covers and door handles which I want Carnity members to benefit from. My Pajero is a 2020 and they were a perfect fit for 2 weeks before I de-chromed the entire car and removed them accordingly. I am guessing it should fit any gen4 pajero as there shouldn’t be any changes to the mirror and handle designs. Not a single scratch on them. Please reach out to me if you want to put them on. Dear Friends Hello and welcome to Sweihan Drives IV. In this Epic version of this series the drive continues further south to start far from Sweihan ; hence the name kept Nominal from where we started at the first place. The aim is to explore areas that we never drove in before even if it has been visted by others previously. we are the desert wanderers and explorers after all ! @munkybizness wonderful journal entry of our early morning drive. The sand certainly had a difference feel which from the moisture, being long wheel base I felt at times I needed more momentum on the sidies but less throttle to prevent fishtailing. Surprisingly the gladiator felt more competent the higher up it was. still need to fight to right balance of speed for going over crests, too little and I crest, too much and I jump…

@Krishna R, you can just click "Leave Event" and re-join under "Going" instead. Since this is a weekday drive, the weekly single-drive limit is not enforced and there are still plenty of spots remaining.

Dear Friends I was delighted meeting you all today morning. After a quick brief stressing on safety points we all got into our trucks taking the track leading to NAGRAH . Truth is I choose the longer way on track which is almost double the distance if would have started from E16 heading east. The main thing which made me choose it is that the sun reflection would be behind us after sun rise. In addition the terrain is better and easier to navigate though longer from east to west than visa versa. We took a detour from south ,entering the dunes , to west where @DP1011 , Deepak wrangler encountered right sided double pop outs which was dealt as fast as possible by the team and we moved on looping and bowling up and down till we rejoined the track again. just before reaching the mighty dune I got my first sideway crest which with couple of shoveling, thanks to ever one,I could side it down to climb one more dune before facing the slip face of NAGRAH. I was surprised of the endless scars , I mean cross tracks everywhere but more it was semi quite where we sow couple of convoys that some how we understood each other😅. The climb from this face was bumpy and softy so after couple trials we looped to see what is behind and that was epic. with such high altitude and long huge sidys with criss cross entailed precise control and guys you have nerves of steel . Well done every one. Time passing fast till we realized it’s 9:00 and the old lady was waiting patiently in the far south . Sorry we missed you this time as I preferred to get stuck in super soft area better than to get in a nasty V shaped ditch which could be far worse. Thank you @Waqas Parvez for the attempt and @Karthik Raptor later to bring us both down when the rope was tight. Sometimes it’s good to have the power in such situations 😅. on the way back on the track as it was approaching 10 am the final tricky stuck had to be mine as well as I was trying to short cut it to the leading track to exit but I noticed the broken fence late while I was on the crest . One more brilliant tug from @Waqas Parvez and I was safely home 🙏 @Waqas Parvez for me the true second lead is a leader and you were today. Your corrections , notifications suggestions and guidance to our friends especially on top of NAGRAH was so remarkable and truly appreciated let alone the last brilliant tug when I was in awkward trick position. Keep it up 👍 @Haitham Khattab you drove like a pro brother and climbing the massive dune from behind made me to think was it really your first IM drive 😉. Thanks as well whenever help needed . Well done @Santoso Marjukipleasure having you today and trust me even bead-locked tires can pop out at a pressure like 5psi especially when tackling super large dunes at NAGRAH. Thank you indeed for all the help during recovery . Hope coming from AD city was worth it 🙏 @Imran Kashif after today I am not anxious at all seeing you controlling and taking the wise call always safely. Your fantastic support was no doubt one of the reasons for that. @Bertrandand @Sebb i hope you guys made it out both safely. Was the meeting point giving wrong directions ? (we heard that happening a few times the last couple of weeks, i am not sure if this was the issue or not). @Rajat Verma not a foot wrong as a superb second lead, thanks buddy ! @Martin M rocking the Bronco you did amazing, so did @Frans M with that beautiful Landcruiser !! @Bishoy Ibrahim you were getting more and more comfortable throughout the drive it seemed to me, and that's great to see, keep it up ! @Lukas overall a very smooth drive for you. The Pajero can go everywhere and you seem to be in total control. @Mark Birch i love the sight of a Gladiator, and the driver inside had a smooth sailing day today. Brilliantly done ! @Glenn Waters and @Bhaskar both with the fantastic looking Montero Sport. I've put you both together in the convoy and you both drove effortlessly. @Anish S thanks for being my trusty sweep, it was great seeing you again after a long gap.
