    Thank you @Kailas for the beautiful drive this morning. You managed to draw lines suited to the group in this difficult area. We all enjoyed the sneaking through the dunes and the high climbs !

    The group as a whole did very well, following the radio instructions, keeping correct distances between cars, holding patiently while fellow drivers where doing their recoveries. We did not have to use shovels neither ropes, this is definitely a sign that you were all attentive to the tracks, and carefully following instructions during self recoveries.

    @Marcin Wronowski, excellent job as 2nd lead, holding when needed on the instructions of @Kailas. You managed the climbs with a fully loaded car, very well done.

    @Premjit Vappala, you were a bit fast on the first dune crossings, (watch the pic in the gallery) but this was corrected during the drive. You will continue to improve the balance of the car on the side slopes.

    @Joao, very well managed you FJ. You will continue to experience the beautiful capabilities of this car.

    @Juan Carlos Prego Perez, you will continue to improve your confidence after a few drives. Correct tire pressure has improved a lot the capabilities of the car.

    @JERINE_B, pay attention to side slopes and remember not to fight gravity, meaning steering down as soon as you loose momentum. Listen carefully to guidance during recoveries, and you will see you can get out easily in many circonstances.

    @Muhammad Qasim, very well driven, you are cautious and attentive to the track.

    @Sanjay Malik, it was a pleasure to see your LC quietly passing through the obstacles with no issue at all, very well driven.

    Thank you @Shaaz Sha for the amazing drive yesterday ! This area is difficult, and taking a Fewbie convoy through these tight bowls, high dunes and sharp crests is a challenge. You managed to lead the way so that everyone could have his shot of adrenaline and enjoy safely.

    Thank you @Alain Canivet-Abikhalil for the great support and complete drive report.

    All of you in the convoy did very well, with a few refusals and stuck that can be expected with the soft sand. Understanding why we get stuck, and going out with the guidance of the support team is part of the learning. I enjoyed a lot being part of the drive.

    So disappointed to see the turn the comments have taken since 2 days. Did the so praised values of solidarity and learning together vanish under the harsh sun of Liwa desert ?

    Probably @PaoloMaraziti for his 1st IM drive was a bit below the required level. I know how physically and mentally demanding an IM drive can be, and a driver with 1, 5 or 10+ IM drive will not behave the same. But why no one told him ? There were plenty of drives on the same day, and I'm sure he would have happily accepted to change. And once a drive is started, we usually adapt the drive to the participants level, and not the opposite... So what's the point being so hard on him ?

    And for @Shaaz Sha also, even with all the training and previous drives, a Lead with 3 or 4 drives lead will not have the same experience than a Lead with 20+ drives lead, so let's recognize he was probably not prepared for this extreme situation, but who would have expected this to happen ? With so many drives in the same area the same day, he could have asked for support earlier. 

    Having said so all of us present that day have learned a lot, and Paolo did it the hard way. Luckily he is safe, and everyone else around also, so let's calm down, take the learnings, and keep growing together.

    @Lorenzo Candelpergher, this drive was amazing and for sure to keep in the records !

    Every thing was there. Beautiful empty spaces, endless climbing and side sloping, breathtaking crest crossing, deep narrow bowls, steep slip face descents ... it was a real festival !

    The sand was compact at the beginning, and became rapidly softer with the sun rising (and the 2 Patrols making their ways ;)) and it was real pleasure to drive through these almost virgin areas, with no tracks, and no sight of any other convoy. 

    The short and compact convoy was in perfect configuration, focused on your lines, and following the intense pace with no hesitation.  @Christian Andras, @Ranjan Das, @Lawrence_Chehimi, @Rawad, @Looper, @Mario Cornejo, @Dodi Syahdar, it was a pleasure driving with you all.

    Thanks again @Lorenzo Candelpergher for taking us full throttle through this beautiful itinerary !

    Many thanks @Brette for the drive yesterday !

    You managed to find your way through these bulldozer track, it was far from easy. The quiet start allowed everyone go get accustomed with the soft sand, and to realised how important it is to keep the car moving with the proper momentum. Then you could increase the pace with a nice portion of rolling dunes, where we could drive from one side to the other, and get the feeling of the side sloping. Finally a big bowl was a nice playing area where everyone could safely push his car a bit more, to see how far it could climb ! Very nice mix !

    The convoy did very well, considering the very soft sand that was accumulated in some areas. No shovel, no rope in a Newbie drive is quite exceptional !! It shows the capabilities of the drivers 1/ to avoid getting stuck and 2/ capable of self recoveries, either alone, or with the guidance of the support.

    @Adnan Halepota, excellent 2nd lead, following the instructions of @Brette, and holding when the situation required to do so.

    @Osama M your car is heavy, but powerful. You have seen that it can easily get stuck, but also you where capable of getting out of the stuck with some guidance. With some practice, you will learn how to use safely the power of your car to pass through tricky situations.

    @Julian Patterson, very good control of your heavy Yukon, and very nice self recoveries in several occasions, very well done.

    @takeshi sobue, the FJ has great capabilities, being attentive to the guidance of the support and leads, you will learn to make the most of it. Also you could realise the importance of selecting a a good trajectory for difficult climbs. Keep driving !

    @John Vanderbleek, very good command of your FJ, soon, you will be able to make the most of it ! thank you for the support in guiding fellow drivers when needed.

    @Willie very well driven during the whole drive.

    @Derius Olivier, it was nice to see one of these LR on the sand and not only on Downtown Boulevard! very well driven, always in control. You will be able to access more difficult drives without issues.

    @Johannes Roux, very well driven also, keep an eye on your fishtailing on side slopes when you will come to bigger dunes.

    Morning Newbie Desert Drive - Solar Park - Dubai - 20 Nov 2021

    Thank you very much @Gaurav for the beautiful drive yesterday ! 

    I was a perfect mix of smooth roller coaster, long side sloping, a bit of ridge riding, one or 2 bowls to feel the adrenaline, a nice technical portion to practice momentum and precise steering. The sand was soft in some occasions where we could realize, in particular for heavy cars, how important it is to keep the momentum, and to control the angle of the car. The break by the croissant lake, and the detour to the oryx were nice additions to fully enjoy the desert experience.

    We had a few stucks that were good occasions to learn the recoveries, for the driver itself, but also watching the situations from the outside. We could practice self recoveries, shoveling, towing, seeing that with good instructions a bit of practice and patience, it is possible to get out of most of the situations. 

    Globally the convoy performed very well as we could cover more that 42 km at an average moving speed of 15 km/h, which is very reasonable for a Newbie drive considering the mixed challenges of the itinerary selected by @Gaurav.

    @Tom V, excellent second lead following the tracks of the lead, attentive to the situations, and holding or rerouting following his instructions.

    @Bruno Finel, very focus and concentrated on your trajectories you were carefully executing the instructions crossing smoothly the bowl after a first attempt.

    @Tom B well done, you will continue to learn how to handle the weight of your car, and to compensate with the right amount of power.

    @Karthik Raptor you have a heavy vehicle also, do not loose your momentum on the top of the curves, as gravity will get you stuck immediately. Let the Raptor be free and use this power! you did well in the technical parts, considering the length of your car.

    @Harshad Ashraf, take also in consideration the required weight/ power balance to keep your momentum. this, with a good focus on the trajectory of the cars in front, and to the guidance of the support will help you to pass through most of the situations.

    @Belal Aldaour you did very well controlling your FJ through the different terrains, you recovered easily from minor stucks with a bit of guidance.

    @Gertjan, very good control of your Prado. I could see you at almost constant distance in my mirror. A precise setting of your tire pressure can help you when it will become more difficult.

    @Sudhanva Sonawane, @Simon Claes, @Manoj Soman, I could not really see you at the back, but you went through the challenges with no issues at all, enjoying the drive I'm sure.

    @Michel Van Woudenberg I could not really see your beautiful FJ40 in action, I think this is my only regret for this drive ! Very well done

    @Looperthank  you for the sweep and for watching us from the back. Your support during the recoveries was greatly appreciated.

    A short video showing the purpose of these trenches, sensors and cables that are so annoying for our drives in the Al Faqa and Sweihan areas. They are related seismic exploration for oil and gas exploration.
