Indeed you did and indeed you did the right thing. Such drives will actually identify: Real offroaders than dune bashing oops cars bashing boys and girls. Drivers who want to test their skills than just pushing peddle. How much more we need to learn to respect the desert. Real definition of precision, patience and teamwork. How to control temptations and assumptions. Well done @Wrangeld for time and time setting these technical drives to value the essence of technical driving. Well done @Islam Soliman for opening a dedicated drive theme for serious offroaders to such a challenging drive.

After that tantalizing signup description, I am eagerly awaiting the post-drive report for those of us who’ll live vicariously through y’all. I’m sure it won’t disappoint 🤩

dear @Shehab Alawadhi, dear @Arman it is an afternoon drive. The title of the drive was correct, the one in the calendar was wrong but timing and details were correct. Now the title in the calendar has been as well amended. Sorry for the inconvenience, I had missed the typo. My bad.. Just to make sure everyone gets it straight, I'm tagging all participants: @Arman, @Shehab Alawadhi, @Mario Cornejo, @Lawrence_Chehimi, @Danish Mohammad, @GauravSoni, @Ilya, @varunmehndiratta, @Ranjan Das, @Jorge Stepniak Felippe, @Hisham Masaad.

Dear Desertnauts. Nice to get back to our Midweek drives. In line with such past drives, we'll look into a route which mixes parts of other tracks, connecting dots to draw a new itinerary, carved especially for our afternoons' explorations. The meeting point will be off the road connecting E66 and E44, just past Margham's village (our first "M"), through an open fence, on the left side of the road. From there we'll launch into the red sand bowls overlooking Nazwa (to the eastern side), then we'll turn back to cross the technical dunes in the direction of Lisaili. Once completed this first half of the drive, we'll cross underneath E66, to reach Lisaili's long range dunes and eastern sabkhas, and from there we'll search for the gap through more tight cordons that will allow us to arrive in Murqab (our other "M"). The convoy is quite experienced, and will line up as follows: @Alain Canivet-Abikhalil in Second Lead @Aus Alzubaidi in #3 place @Senthil Kumar will be #4 @PaoloMaraziti at #5 @Hisham Masaad in Center Forward @Sunil Mathew will be #7 @Rawad at #8 @darren thompson will drive at #9, while @Alex Raptor will Sweep. The meeting time has been set at 2:30 PM, in light of slightly lower temperatures and shorter days. Please reach the meeting point a bit earlier, so we can move speedily. The radio channel will be chosen on the spot. Looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow. Have a nice evening.

Drive Plan This is an area that I would be driving after a very long time (more than 3 years), and while I dont expect the dune formation to change drastically, I do expect that there might be some surprises in the form of additional fences, pockets, etc. So please bring along your exploration cap and as my intent is to scout the entire area which hosts loads of pyramid shaped dunes, massive bowls, and some star dunes as well. In such kind of dunes and at a Fewbie+ level, it will be about keeping up the momentum and also having the right amount of distance from the car in front. And you will be revving your car to its limit on every step of the way. So look forward to catching up with the Sweihan boys this weekend. P.S. The meeting point has been updated on both the calendar event as the drive post.
