I frankly wouldn't bother using it to clear off the sand especially from the engine bay. In my car, the sand plays a very important role of a sealant to stop the oil leaks. 😂

Ah, Nissan with its Electronic Throttle Body that has Limp Mode Lever (figure 1). @Zixuan Huang - Charlie & @Foxtrot Oscar there's a Nissan bulletin on how to Clear Check Engine Light / Reset ECU without OBD2 scanner (figure 2) Figure 1: ETC with Limp Lever So based on this, if you keep on getting Limp Mode, first clean the MAF (Mass AirFlow Sensor), if still persists then might want to replace the APPS (Accel Pedal Position Sensor - cheaper) and the Electronic Throttle Body (combination of Throttle Position Sensor + Control Motor in diagram) - more expensive unless aftermarket or original-reconditioned. Figure 2: Nissan Reset ECU "Pedal-Dance" Textual Description of Figure 2: 1. Confirm that accelerator pedal is fully released, turn ignition switch “ON” (without starting vehicle) and wait 3 seconds. 2. Repeat the following steps (2a and 2b) procedures quickly five times within 5 seconds. 2-a. Fully depress the accelerator pedal (HARD). 2-b. Fully release the accelerator pedal. 3. Wait 7 seconds, fully depress the accelerator pedal and keep it for approximately 10 seconds until SERVICE ENGINE SOON starts blinking. 4. Fully release the accelerator pedal (while SERVICE ENGINE SOON is still blinking). 5. Wait about 10 seconds. 6. Fully depress the accelerator pedal and keep it for more than 10 seconds. 7. Fully release the accelerator pedal (The SERVICE ENGINE SOON light will continue to blink). 8. Turn ignition switch to “OFF” position and now you can start the vehicle. The SERVICE ENGINE SOON light should be gone. If the SERVICE ENGINE SOON light continues to remain ON, repeat the above steps. Timing is EXTREMELY critical to resetting the ECU. @Markus B thank you for bringing this up . I believe the sand tracks ( good quality one like AOR for example ) can be very helpful in certain situations when properly placed and under which wheel in question . I agree with @Frederic that the basics of self recovery is to be taught first and that’s what we do in Carnity and any gadget shouldn’t be a replacement to the skills acquiring in desert self recovery . However these tracks in some tricky situations can be fast and quick to get you out of trouble . I personally used while in Carnity drives three times and it worked . https://youtu.be/VwD5MsIOaNM

No, it doesn't interfere with the driving. It's been good so far. The motorola clip is bit fiilmsy but I have also the baofeng which is quite sturdy. Works for me 😎

I just got my PCR done today, as some people last week experienced 2-3 days to get result. With 14 days validity now, at least we can plan PCR couple of days in advance. @Ilya you are right, if your second dose is less than 6 months then you wont get any booster, anyways. I got my third Pfizer in Dec, so after this today's PCR, I should have green Al Hosn soon 🤞

Would have loved to join. An IM drive with Gaurav is something that I have missed for far too long. But have some guests over this weekend and they wouldn't appreciate the high adrenaline drive at Qua, so would bring them on a nice relaxed NB Drive. I have thrown the challenge buddy. It's up to you whether you want to take it up. 😂

I see many cars with these plastic sand tracks you put under your tires when you are stuck, and some people consider them essential. At carnity drives though i never saw them used for a recovery, i don't even remember seeing anyone carrying them. Whats your opinion on these?

They CAN help.... but we are talking about 10% success rate, and looking at the costs of these units, we always encouraged the people to practice self-recovery skills and those skills are basically priceless. If you are a solo-offroader who is travelling across the empty quarter.. .well maybe yes get a set of 4 in case you are bogged down in a sabkha PS there are many different kinds. The only ones i've seen working are the hard plastic orange or green boards from reputable brands. These tracks that you can roll-up (Bushranger etc..) are worthless in my opinion.

Without the booster you still can enter with a fresh PCR - no? I have less than 6 months since my last vaccine - so don't need a booster.
