For years and years, I was an "I will never drive an automatic". Then I realised, life is simply easier in an automatic day to day. I still remember how frustrating is was sitting in early morning traffic on the way into central London driving a manual.

Off road, I went for Auto first simply because I knew there would be a lot to think about apart from changing gear.

For sure, at some stage, I will have a manual for the desert. As long as it's not my daily driver. Auto is simply that, automatic, so easier.

That's why it's Tiptronics in AT for me..😄😄.. remember my first drive with @Wrangeld and message was loud n clear "D" it is.... So stick to master's words except ofcourse when climbing hills ...

Dear @Carnity members, pleased to offer Jack wooden board, free of cost, just collect it😀. Unless I am on the same drive, I can bring with me. Board will be made as attached photo, in different types of wood, depends on availability of wood. Please advise who wants to have one, to prepare together. Thanks

  3. Thanks @Luca Palanca Falsini for an exciting drive to start the day...it was good fun and experience surely added to confidence. Shuwaib and Luca are undoubtedly the best combo for some adrenaline rush.🙂.perhaps we could hv been a bit faster but then it was my first extreme drive so I am not the right person to judge  .

Thanks @Francois Germishuys for feedback...it's not easy to call a spade A Spade ..that's the only way we learn. Highly appreciate your feedback.

At this level we need to be prepared to plan for driver ahead of us and assess accordingly - basics of convoy concept took a bit back step due to same reason @Abu Muhammad mentioned -  conscious effort to maintain speed and at times i ended up too close to vehicle that wasn't having it's best day on field.  Learning continues.

Also must add that as we proceeded, @Thomas Varghese was able to recover well from initial hour of hiccups,  takes a lot.of courage to do that, his smooth way of handling tech areas is something to enjoy- skill of the driver over the strength of the vehicle ..kudos to @Thomas Varghese for that.

Thanks to the whole team for the lovely drive.  @Ilya thanks for tips it's always fun discussing possibilities on Jeep with you..

Hope to see you all soon....

Dear @Abdul Rahman AK, it appears that @varunmehndiratta will attend the Extreme Drive in Shuwaib, therefore he has been removed from the RSVP of this drive. You are, accordingly, the next in line to join the convoy, unless you have secured already a spot in some other drive, in which case precedence will go to @Pacific. Kindly confirm.

Ciao @Lorenzo Candelpergher yup this time it's Xtreme with rockstar @Luca Palanca Falsini .. see you soon, hopefully on the next midweek drive.

Hello @varunmehndiratta. Thanks for advising. Let me know if you still wish to try to be in the drive, or I should count you out 100%, as you can update me closer to the drive's time, if you wish.

That would be great if possible...i would know by Friday Eve, if can wait, will apprise you as soon as I have confirmation..  Don't want that team loses an available slot.

    Dear Desertnauts.

Let's start playing the guessing game to unveil the uocoming Mistery Drive's location.

Question 1) Will it be an area of yellow/white sand, or rather red color sand?

As you know, whiter sand is found from Lisaili and Faqa going west, toward Qudra/Dubai, while red sand is more typical from Badayer going east toward Pink Rock.

    So, @MUHAMMAD Kashif RAZZAQ, @jeetu sharma, @varunmehndiratta, @GauravSoni, @Thomas Varghese, @Zixuan Huang, @Sunil Mathew, @Rjducos, @shu yang, @Shaaz Sha and @Jeepiewhich area are you guessing we'll visit?

RED, RED, RED.....not White plz...summer afternoon drive and white don't add ..🙂

  7. Thanks @Kailas for the wonderful drive today through a highly diverse Terrain full of high slopes, bumpy vegetation, long range dunes, super soft sand, technical areas concocted together through series of beautiful wide spread sabkhas. We couldn't breach the 100km mark, however reached the planned destination covering around 75Km at a decent moving speed of around 26Kmph (with multiple tech areas that we covered, not a bad speed for a long convoy).

We had our share of pop out(s) (two at once), a complicated stuck and other minor refusals n ofcourse my friendship with Crest.

Thanks to an experienced convoy we could really hit the pedal hard and managed the terrain pretty well.

Personally, i was trying with PSI levels reduced by couple of points and with a bit lower revs then my usual, worked at most places apart from that small crest (thanks for highlighting that perhaps it's more than level of momentum it's the the fact that i am letting it go fraction of secs early, it's a continuous learning process and will continue to work)..

All and all a lovely drive and surely worthy of that super early morning (or actually late night) alarm..

Thanks all hope to catch up with you all soon.

  8. As i said good idea ..how practical it is to arrange specifically is something team can advice.

I have been on some drives with low number of drivers, where we did quite a bit of trials n experiments.....one of the drives with Chaitnya, we deliberately got the cars stuck and in one of the drives with Ale, drivers individually tried some obstacles repeatedly.

Things related to vehicle - lowering down PSI on a specific drive or deciding that on specific day i want to go up on Superbowl or up faya with different approach is something I believe marshals always support if volunteered (just we ourselves need to be prepared that we might not do it properly) ...plus we can ourselves always plan few drives out of general drives to experiment..

Of course j am in for any such drives ..

Dear @varunmehndiratta, while you may have the required nominal number of drives, for your own safety Carnity Advisors would prefer to see you taking a few more Intermediate Drives, so your driving skills can be assessed more thoroughly in light of your interest to join Extreme Drives and consensus can be reached on your eligibility. I look forward to having you join my next Extreme Drive!

Noted @Lorenzo Candelpergher... Thanks for the feedback .. see you in the next drive..
