One of the best drives I ever made! incredible drivers, no stuck, no rope, and no any weak ring in the convoy chain! everyone was perfect to track @Luca Palanca Falsini's challenging but wonderful routes. I'll keep everyone's name in my mind! Thanks to @sertac and @Luca Palanca Falsini offering us this amazing experience, @Thomas Varghese perfectly dealing with sweeping! My special notes; wranglers @Arman @N@ved you were so boring! Have more refusals next time still wondering who is cleaning sand from your cars after these drives pajeros @sri ganesh @Abdul Rahman Abdul Kader @Danish Mohammad you all proved that you exactly know capacity of your cars and able to keep them on optimum balance. next time better not to line up pajero after pajero because we are getting confused and lost in the track! @Rizwan Waheed was the first pajero I've seen reaching up that height on faya (just after me )! congrats buddy! @Bernd Stucke do not know where he found that ugly truck but it was good looking while churning the sand at least! drive it on the sand then @imranaasghar81 hidden support of each drive! if you have him in the convoy, means you have one additional CF/sweep ready to help whenever needed. it was good watching you on my mirror, perfectly surfing on the ridges! ...and @Thomas Varghese continuous updates, supports and advices from the back... not an easy thing for a fewbie especially in high-tempo drives, like we did yesterday. well done! I simply agree with all of you here. Lovely drive so challenging and when Luca announced after Faya we will exit thn i realized, tht time is flying we were into it so much. Enjoyed alot. Learned alot from every one. @Luca Palanca Falsini @Thomas Varghese @Mehmet Volga thank you very much guys. and spoting @Rahimdad from the bottom of the faya was quite simillar as we spotted a superman in the sky and ya, thts wt He is. last but not least, @sertac all i can say tht "Ayevalla Bey" See you all soon on the dunes.. I don’t know how to express my gratitude to @sertac for giving me the opportunity to lead on such a wonderful drive! I was blessed with all of the joiners. You were amazing! In the beginning I was thinking about pushing a bit to set up the right level... But all of you were responding so well that, in the end, when I needed to cross some Sabkha to point Faya I felt worried about boring you! Hard to classify the convoy today’s performance into Fewbie boundaries, we pushed almost always the level to Fewbies+ and little up even. Many thanks to @Mehmet Volga our impeccable CF and @Thomas Varghese our sweep! @Mehmet Volga was impeccable from the beginning of his CF role, always comfortable with any situation and almost impossible to reach a refusal before him! @Thomas Varghese after a little 'warm up' on his new role was doing his job very well! Thank you again to everyone. All of you made my first lead a unique experience, can’t wait to see you all on the sand again!

Drive Report OH MY DAYS!! WHAT A CONVOY!! BRAVO BRAVO BRAVO!! We started off with a delay to accommodate @Ilya Golubinsky and @Goutam who had been busying themselves tearing up the Iftar bowl with Gaurav on his early morning IM drive. Waiting was not an issue, I was happy to do so. @Goutam word reached us that you were having issues with your tyres and I thought you weren’t going to make it so we left at 2:30, just missing you. I’m sorry We started off on the very gentle dunes in Solar Park to warm everyone up for what lay ahead. After a small refresher on the mechanics of ridge riding and criss-crossing the convoy demonstrated beautifully the art and finesse required to tackle these skills . That we didn’t have a single stuck or refusal during that part of the drive is testament to that. Confident that the convoy was up to the challenge I headed towards the larger dunes of the area. However, we were met with temporary fences that had popped up in the past week. As I searched for a way through it became apparent that we might as well just hop on the familiar dusty track, which left @Ilya Golubinsky looking like he had seen a ghost , as the white dust thrown up by my tracks covered his topless Jeep (apologies my friend) We weren’t on the track for long, and entered the dunes once again. We passed through the technical area , dinking up and down , in and around with no issues at all before we reached the larger dunes. As we were confronted with the blazing white sands of the relatively high dunes, with hidden pockets and soft sands the convoy kept up their great driving. We took on everything this gorgeous area had to offer with only a couple of refusals and one crested vehicle. Which is to be expected when we face such challenges in the desert and with a convoy of mostly long wheelbase 4x4s. @Thomas Varghese car was feeling a little hot and bothered so we stopped for 5 mins to let it cool down, applying water spray to help it on its way. It seemed to do the drink. We reached the target area of the other side of Faqa with its huge long dunes and track free sands. In fact the only tracks we could see were the ones I had made on my recce drive the week before. Unfortunately for @Ali Abas one of his passengers was feeling nauseous. I looked for somewhere for him to exit and led him to the road. That was a pity @Ali Abas as you were driving well. I asked the rest of the convoy if they wanted to keep going and I was delighted when they all said yes. This area is heavenly, the dunes are literally begging for you to cut across them and that’s what we did. I was astounded by how well @Thomas Varghese drove on this his first fewbie + drive. Well done my friend, you did amazing. Thank you @Ilya Golubinsky for the great job as second lead, especially as we were ridge riding, some of those dunes had nasty bumps and you followed my instructions to exit early perfectly. @GauravSoni you continue to develop at an excellent rate and had a fine drive . Of course thank you @Pancho for being my sweep and keeping an aye on everything at the back. Once again, thank you all for your excellent driving, always cautious, never blasé and ensuring we all had incredible fun! We covered just over 87km in 4hours with only 22mins of stopping time. BOOM! Now that’s a drive!

Dear all, It was indeed a memorable drive for me, actually the 1st one I could finally lead from start to end: 52km in 3.5h, of which a good 2.5h moving time. First of all my gratitude goes to @Wrangeld who gave me the opportunity to take the lead and, by doing so, to close the circle, being there with me from my first Absolute Newbie to my first Full Lead. We started with a mild pace on fairly easy dunes, maybe a bit too easy for most of the drivers. We then then increased both the pace and the technical level, with more challenging ridge riding and a few criss-crossings. The convoy responded incredibly well, with very few refusals and just a couple of stucks. @Nizam Deen handled the rope recoveries with great calm, even when pulling out @Yusuf Esaf's Y62, which he eventually managed to get happily crested, just after saying he wanted the ride to be more challenging.. 😂 We then moved to the area which I have decided to mark in my navigation app as the "Mighty Dunes", where we enjoyed the largest dunes in Lisaili area with spectacular climbs, steep descents, long side slopings and a couple of adventurous passages through tricky canyons. Boy, how fun was that? Just when we were lowering a bit our adrenaline levels and preparing for the last session of long range dunes towards Al Qudra, @Yasas Dharmadasa's gearbox got badly stuck in reverse. With little hopes to get the car moving, and considering also the need for a rapid exit for @Niki Patel's family emergency (hope all is well), we opted to let @Athula Dharmadada wait along with his cousin while we headed out to Al Qudra Love Lakes, ie to the closest and fastest way out, where we had to conclude our ride some 20 mins before the scheduled exit at 11am. Richard and I then went back to help bringing the incapacitated car, which was at least in neutral at that point, down to the sabkha and eventually to the pylon track from where it could be safely loaded on a tow truck. A great kudos goes to @Jack Thomas who was a great sweep, with very proactive and comforting updates from the back which made my life much easier. Congrats to everyone else not mentioned above: @RaYan E, @luwaimn, @Jon M, @Anvar Sadath Bekal@andy_macdxband @Niki Patel. Every time l looped back and had a chance to watch you driving by, I saw you all were doing great. Thanks for being the perfect convoy for my first full lead. And keep an eye on the next upcoming Carnity drives, as mine will be posted soon as well!!

Morning All, Congratulations to @Lorenzo Candelpergher for a great lead yesterday. One of the reasons that Marshals become marshals is that we enjoy the challenge of leading a drive. For anyone that tried to go out into the desert themselves or with friends you know just how easy it is to get stuck and find that your fun day out becomes a nightmare. Once you learn how to lead you understand how to navigate through the dunes giving excitement and at the same time keeping the convoy moving and safe. So, it was with massive pleasure that I was able to hand over the reigns this week to a driver in who's story in Carnity I have been humbled to play a part and watch him put everything he brings to the game from a personality and management side and what he has learned over the months to leading his first full drive. And what a fantastic job he did. From start to finish the drive was controlled, exciting, challenging and perfectly paced. Those of you who were on the drive - you should remember that you were on Lorenzo's first lead: because it is going to the first of many many amazing drives. I have no doubt that there will be a fan club growing soon of drivers wanting to join his posted drives. For anyone intersted, we managed to get Yasas out of the desert and his car was revocered to the garage. No doubt, it will be back on the road again for next week. See you soon in the sand.

Nothing can replace experience and real old school understanding of machine and it's use to achieve result....... However some AI feature really add to the experience .. As marshalls in Carnity always say - drive in D, machine at most times has better response than us... My belief about spending on latest tech - If in affordable range and enhances one's performance, why not? I may practice without switching on thesefeatures but would like to have them too...

@Rahimdad haha I used to get the latest ThinkPad laptops every 2years but i managed to stop that now, wifey said similar comment along your line, "you're gullible to tech ads", "why do u need the latest & greatest, it won't improve your coding much" 😂😂😂 That's why in yesterday's drive, when I saw Asif did the exact same thing without crawl control, I'm now (more) convinced that this can be done without computers too 😁 And now I want to intentionally get stuck and "crawl manually" 😅

@Carnity everybody helps a driver in distress.

Thank you for yet another great morning in the desert. The flow of the drive was almost uninterrupted, thanks to the support of @Rahimdad and @Jeepie, and this allowed us all to enjoy more time in the play areas, which more than play is an opportunity for all of us to fine tune skills. The route had amazing views and I regret so much I forgot my camera at home. My copilot, Danny, enjoyed the play areas, unfortunately he was feeling a bit shy today and did not want to step out of the car. As @Rahimdad said, Danny is keen to find an opportunity to use his shovel to help get dad unstuck from the sand, but as the saying goes: "be careful what you wish for!" As I don't have pictures this time, I thought I would share a few stats: we drove 29Km over a period of 4hrs 38min, our maximum elevation was 728m. @Rahimdad thank you for giving me the opportunity to be the sweep in today's drive and to contribute, even on a small scale, to a safe and enjoyable drive. Thank you everyone else in the convoy, it was a pleasure to drive with all of you. Bye for now and hope to see you soon in upcoming drives.

Absolutly amazing drive today thank you so much to all!

It was fabulous time we had today. We had chance to enjoy our fresh lead Luca`s leading. I supposed to hand him the lead around half hour to 1 hour but we ended up enjoying his lead over 2.5 hours. That happened because of his way to find nice, clear dunes in such crowded area. He took our fewbies and made them fewbie+ today. We climbed many high dunes, we made criss crossing, we made side slopes all fewbies are made me shocked, how they handled every thing that Luca throwed on them. Basically we started near to Big red. I took the team from entry point to big red. We had some joy behind the Big Red than we came to front and climbed up. From Big Red i handed the lead to @Luca Palanca Falsini. From there he took us some nice dunes and we reached to the Pink Rock. At Pink Rock also we had chance to climb up. Man such a climbing day, the way that i love off roading. From Pink Rock we reached to the 2nd December. Since it was early enough We decided to move on to our beloved Faya. Again with such clean and virgin dunes Luca took us near to the Faya. Than i took over the convoy and make it to the Faya. Since climbing face was crowded. We decide to go to the back side and spent some time there and come back again. In this time we were lucky to see @Rahimdad`s beautiful Pathfinder up there at the top. Luca and i said he should be doing at least fewbie level. Once we talked to him we surprised that he managed to take newbies up there. Great job Rahim bhai and great job his convoy. After spending some time behind the Faya we approached to the front face and tried our cars power. Did i mentioned it was a climbing day After the Faya we exited safely. It was such a flawless day if i am not mistaken we never needed our ropes. We had few refusals but it wasn`t anything that some instruction and some shoveling can`t sort it. Big thanks to @Luca Palanca Falsini another big thanks to @Mehmet Volga and thanks a lot @Thomas Varghese to keep us informed about the back side of the convoy. And the biggest thanks to all our drivers. Many times i said they might struggle here you all did amazing. If any of you wondered today we covered 42.7km.

What a great morning, Suzy and I really enjoyed it and learnt a lot, thanks everyone. As usual felt safe and in control and were presented with multiple opportunities to get things right. Ready for the next one. I'm loving the marvel and DC T shirts @Mario Cornejo and @Rahimdad , going to break out Fat Thor next time!!!!

@Rahimdad What a great day and great report man. you made our day 😊 it was a really amazing time of excitement, challenges , joyful, with a lot of smiles all the day. i loved the way you motivate each one to reach the top and sure i paid a lot of salik on this long way we drive 😂😂 but you forgot my wings too😅 @Jeepie the greatest biker thank you for your support and helping me to find the way i lost 😅 and managing our play time and your keenness for everyone to take their turn at playtime @Junaid120120 i like the way you handle your Fj it looks amazing man and thank you for the video you captured and your advices. @Zed if you are so techy and sold on this video for an idea of crawl control you're really gullible. Anybody can get a car stuck on flat surface and reverse out even without crawl control. The thing about electronics is they need a certain parameter to operate with, if the car was at an angle would it still engage. There are no magic buttons, just experience you can use to get yourself out of different situations.

To dream and talk about it anybody can do. To dream and implement it only few people with determination and will can do. Thank God you didn't listen to my advice about it and made it. Same is with everything else we do. You believed in your idea and believed in yourself and made it happen. A big Cheers.

@imranaasghar81 thanks for your kind words of appreciation. To be honest I'm not a pro photographer or pro off roader. Just because I have the tools I experiment. My equipment is only an entry level camera and kit lenses. My car is a base model without any serious mods. I just try to unleash the power of whatever I have in hand. The pictures I shoot in RAW mode and post process in Adobe Lightroom. Its an easy to understand and use photo editing software. I use a flatter picture profile like Canon C _ Log as the picture profile so that it will capture most of the dynamic range of the scene and post process them in Lightroom. BTW your contraption on your FJ to mount the 360 Go Pro is an engineering marvel. Seriously its a wonder the whole thing holds the camera in the midst of all the bumps and jumps against the drag it creates. Hopefully you will make more contraptions and test them out so that all of us can benefit. Kudos @imranaasghar81. You are an engineering genius.

@Lorenzo Candelpergher @Wrangeld thank you both for a superb drive and appreciate how much care you took of us all! Getting to the exit early was more critical than you can know! Thank you 🙏🏽 Glad to see @Yasas Dharmadasa was able to be recovered. @Lorenzo Candelpergher if that was your first lead I feel privileged to have been on it... such a calm leader and the route was incredible ... I cannot wait to visit there again as it demanded a lot of concentration and was a serious challenge for me! I have to say seeing how you take your car through all of these routes adds to the confidence you give us... I think as a lead you have the biggest, longest and heaviest car and show it goes everywhere!!! For me that’s a lesson in itself watching your line and approach! look forward to joining another of your drives ... @Wrangeld I joined this drive to be under your lead so look forward to your next drive! CF and sweep were flawless in what was a difficult route and being at the back of that ride was not easy so kudos Sweep!

I actually didn't want to do the climb as I was apprehensive if he can really make it up and there were 3 bouncers on the way up. I could see the other cars bouncing off those nasty bumps on the way up. Then the car spoke to me in my mind. He asked me why are you even driving me if you don't know what I can do. Be brave, you just unleash me and I will show you what I can do. The words of @Rahimdad rang in my mind - He once told me you don't realize the power of your car unless you unleash it. Well both of them made me do what I thought was impossible. I decided to give in and make the car happy. Ohhhh how happy he was. You all can see how he is galloping from the bottom to the top. See his reactions on the bouncers. Just rammed through them as if he was taking a stroll in the park. The Xterra only had the stock Bilstein shock absorbers to absorb the bouncers and they did well. Once past the bouncers he just raced up like a bullet. Nearing the top I was little afraid that he may even try to fly into the horizon with so much excitement so I had to slow him down and bring him back to his senses. He was not very happy but obeyed my command to come back to the base and join others. Same thing he repeated again at the big Al Faya dune. I didn't know he was racing up because his friend @Rahimdad was waiting up with his newbies. In fact I didn't want him to get spoiled by mingling with others. I asked him to come down and he obeyed dutifully and joined back the convoy at the base. Only when @Rahimdad came down the dunes with his convoy I understood why he was keeping on climbing up and up. He just wanted to say hello to his friend. Sorry @Rahimdad next time he will come to you.

@Mario Cornejo no part is a small part. If we don't full in the gaps the adventure is not complete. All the pieces of the puzzle fitted perfectly today and I'm loving the responsibility the younger members are taking on for all to enjoy comfortably. @Junaid120120 your enthusiasm and positive energy is felt from way back all the way to the lead. I am happy you are enjoying this beautiful sport and looking forward to a Fewbie trip with you. @Watteau I've seen the End Game and a fat Thor is still Thor deep under. I love the humour that Thor brings and the intensity when required. Looking forward to completing our very own Avengers team.

U r a star .. loved the way u lead the convoy.. first u warmed up everyone in team and slowly u ask them to come out of their comfort zone and enjoy the offroad.. then play areas where fear vs fun comes into the picture .. and i saw most of us did astonishingly well. Trip Report: Wow, what an amazing week which finally concluded with the end of the drive today. As soon as my drive was posted it was full within seconds, and yet a few complained it is difficult to get on my drive. These were the lucky ones. I feel sorry for the waitlisted members we could not accommodate. Another bright side was there were no no-shows on my drive today and the 14 car convoy seemed perfect for today's drive. It was wonderful to reach the meeting point and see everybody deflated, flagged up and ready for the briefing. We did a quick briefing and radio check before heading put. The first part of the drive was the most troublesome as the convoy was still finding their feet. A refusal here, car slipping down there. Lessons learned, deflation is part of the art of off-roading. Newbie is a great level to get your best figures in terms of performance, so experiment at this level till you find your desirable number. Secondly when riding the ridge make sure you are as high as possible on the ridge. If gravity still loves your car so much that it's not going to let go, head down and climb again when you find a safe spot. We had plenty of time in our beloved play areas, everybody had their fair chance and enjoyed learning how to perfect the throttle and steering to glide through them like swans doing ballet. The chance in terrain also meant that we had the straight long stretch to practice and the wall of death. Playing with gravity is a part of off-roading and a great way to learn more about your car and the terrain at hand. Our next destination was top of Fossil Rock. Some made it on the first attempt, while others needed some time. Either ways a lesson in both patience, togetherness and the fact that all cars big and small can make it if you get all the elements right. As we headed around Fossil Rock on the way to Faya was my personal favorite. I enjoyed getting a few virgin dunes, and playing around as we approached Faya through some medium sized dunes. The momentum we had helped us to glide through this terrain and everybody managed well. Coming to the back side of Faya our challenges mounted up as we tried to mount Faya. So as someone elderly once told me to help others you first need to challenge yourself to the top, this is exactly what I did. I got to the top and watched the action as one by one everyone made it through the most challenging section of the drive. Once everybody crossed the most challenging section reach the top of Faya was easy. I'm glad that all 14 cars were lined up on top of Faya and that to a Newbie drive. @sertac called to congratulate me as he watched our convoy filling the top of Faya. After heading down we spent some time to try and climb Faya from the front side with a lot of success. I has to lend some weight to a couple of cars to help them climb to the top from the front end. I was surprised to see myself almost on top with my Pathy. By far the best my Pathy has felt in a long time. My biggest happy moment came when I saw all the smiles and positive feedback from everyone. I'm so pleased to have @Satish Mungse as my second lead. My choice to have him as my second lead came from our Pink Rock drive last week. He managed that position well and made sure fine corrections were made as and when I requested him to do so. @Natarajan started of finding his higher rev range, but as the drive progressed he adjusted and allowed me to express myself as today's lead. @Hossam Anwar also managed his Pajero well and showed good progress and learning throughout the drive. I had a few concerns which I discussed with him and I'm very pleased to see him taking it positively and surely saw him practice it as the drive progressed. @Rajendran D was comfortable in his Pajero and I can only hope he also learned a few tricks and polished his skills in today's drive. @Hardik Mody was hard at work with his Xterra as it was his first drive with this new vehicle. Eventually it seemed he got more comfortable with his new ride and figured out how it is better than his Mitsubishi Montero Sport. @Jeepie was an excellent center forward and her support meant she was giving me the perfect opportunity to scale the drive higher without any concerns. Her complain however was I did not give her enough opportunities to have her work-out and she would have to go to the gym today. @Lukas Lewis with his Ford Explorer tastfully modified showed my how his Eddie Bauer version is just as effective as any other vehicle. I was never a big fan of this vehicle, but respect to @Lukas Lewis to provide me with enough evidence to rethink my prejudice against this beautiful machine. @pramod in his Land Cruiser with his family was always with a broad smile. His son Dev was amazing company and loved to have some nice conversations with him as well. @kolinrrj to my surprise was a lady. I thought it was Kolin, but she turned out to be Koli. With her big Land Cruiser she found her comfort soon and managed the whole trip well. She was very calm during the drive followed instructions well and I'm sure picked up some useful advise to follow for future drives. @Ahmad Shaker in his FJC seemed like he paid a few Salik as it seemed he was just cruising on a highway. I love the way he handles the car, but definitely needs to polish his skills a bit to look more graceful.@Watteau presented me with my first sight to a single cabin Raptor and I would not be surprised if that monster will conquer Moreeb Hill in Liwa. He looked effortless as he did everything with great control, he understands the concept of off-roading well. Furthermore he loves doing technical dunes, so @Wrangeld no doubt will be his next best friend.@Junaid120120 has a 20/20 vision. This was my second drive with him but we definitely enjoy each others company. He loves the tracks I choose and I love the way he handles his FJC at this level. Finally @Mario Cornejo was an amazing addition in the sweep position. He and his son Danny are my best friends and I once again disappointed Danny as my drive was really boring not giving him the chance to use his shovel. We also had a nice ride all the way to the top of Faya in the trusted Nissan Patrol Y61 SWB, beautiful machine, simple and powerful. Without him in the sweep position I would not be able to do all that we managed today. His sweep duties are also highly appreciated. My feeling that we spent the majority of time driving, challenging different dunes. Very helpful advices and demonstration on self recovery. Very useful. You can transfer your previous off-road experience in three steps. Join the "Newbie" drive for the first time with Carnity off-road club (Mandatory). Do the self declaration on the drive post with the area and number of drives you have done in the past. Hi guys..Thank you all for a memorable drive once again. It was supposed to be my first drive with @Srikumar and reached the meeting point early today for the first time 😁. After a while @Abu Muhammad joined and then to the surprise of all found a familiar SWB pajero coming in to the meeting point . Then I realized that it's the legend himself is inlead role today. Thanks @Gaurav for a supercharged drive. I believe everyone had a wonderful day offroading. It was my second intermediate drive with @Gaurav and got some chances to be active with shovel and jack, which was very much informative. We literally had a theory and practical to deal with pop outs from our marshal. The drive had very few refusals and stucks, and I think most of the time it was the Red X that got stuck ☺️, but managed some how to come out without a tug. 😃😃. Thank you @Gaurav, @Francois Germishuys and @Mukundan Nair for guiding me through all the self recoveries and helping me out in shoveling the last stuck. It was nice to see @Francois Germishuys and @Ilya Golubinsky maneuvering to the top many times at the Iftar bowl and star bowl. The convoy was very familiar and had driven with everyone before.
