  1. Trip report - what a thrilling night drive: Coming back the very next day from a near flawless night NB drive who managed the first technical bit with few refusals only , I wanted to challenge the experienced members going into the baby dunes entering a bit more early to test the skills we have learned. And that's when the desert Gods decided to bring us , and especially me down to earth!! The small 400 to 500 m stretch of tight dunes felt likea million Kms - we had multiple refusals , stucks in super soft sand patches and some stucks in impossible pockets including one of mine as I slipped into a pocket needing the more experienced member @MUHAMMAD Kashif RAZZAQ to pull me as it was a one try situation and he did it perfectly . We had cars getting stuck on plane dunes, cars getting stuck on baby crests, cars sinking in sand as soon as they stop and some cars making weird noises as if they said "we don't want to drive on these dunes"🤣🤣. The sand was extremely soft and we spent a considerable amount of time recovering all the cars but all did well with good coordination for multiple shoveling, tugging and then we were on to the long dunes. A breath of fresh air as if we were just born babies crying aloud to gasp that oxygen for our cars airboxes to expand!! Once on to the long dunes what happened next was pure thrill. Long climbs , super long side slopes, ridge rides following the leap of faith, super sharp criss crosses at fantastic pace let everyone's hearts racing. You will not believe even though we drove like this for just over 2 hrs , all the hard work we had initially was almost forgotten. Vow it was pure thrill doing those !! Impressive how everyone pushed their cars playing with the tiptronics climbing those ridges and cross crossings. At one place we did non stop criss cross on sharp ridges which was thrilling. Well handled by all. We squeeze the max out of these long dunes and then headed towards the sabkhas separating from Murqab. Sand in these smaller dunes was softer and we had more refusals , again bringing us back to mother earth. Managed quickly with some tugs and then we played quite some time more in the longer dunes and some nice bowls there. Unfortunately I landed in a smallish pocket which was hardly visible coming off the ridge. Pulling needed a double rope and the car tugging got stuck with the rope tight. Thanks @Rob H for the sequential 2nd pull from other tow hook to remove the tension on the rope . We drove back to exit quickly from there taking the dirt tracks , slightly late but all in all a good thrilling drive in the dark. @Pacific did well managing the 2nd lead positions. Thank you. You need to control your gas in soft sands as you will dig in quickly if you don't control that. Sorry to see that bend on your front end after you took a bump , causing your car to lean to right which was more evident on tarmac. I hope it is an easy fix . @Gok Krish glad to see you after a long time. Impressive how you have improved and managed even when I pushed it . Hardly any issues, some refusals which is always part of the learning. Well done. @Lawrence_Chehimi managed his patrol y62 well on this fast paced drive in the dark. I suppose your car doesn't like the technical stuff throwing some weird noises. 🤣🤣. I hope it hasn't come back and all is well. Great driving that monster @Thomas Varghese has some huge experience coming into this drive which was great to see. However you still need to get that control further to manage that fishtailing on faster and steeper climbs. It is a very thin line , which will come with practice and you will improve on that for sure. We will improve with every drive, I improve every drive leading and supporting learning something new and hence I am sure you will learn it too quickly. Thank you for spotting the issue with @Pacific car diligently. @GauravSoni did well in all areas and always good to see you having a very helpful attitude. Minor refusals and stuck in some softer patches on slowing down , but well driven . Thanks for staying back while we waited for the recovery truck along with @Gok Krish . @Rizwanm2 managed the challenge well even though slightly at the back which meant you will be driving on slightly churned tracks. Impressive to see you hardly had any issues, well done. @MUHAMMAD Kashif RAZZAQ with copilot son Rafay helped immensely in all the time we needed help. Tugging me twice from pockets in tricky areas . Well driven and great to have your company on any drive. Thank you @Rob H sweeped us all with his supercharged Tundra. Impressive as always and why I say this is even in tighter baby dunes where many had issues having refusals and stucks you just eased through in that monster. Of course well driven on the longer dunes which as fantastic to see. Well done and thank you. It was a first for me - a full 4 hr thrilling intermediate fast paced drive at night. We drove close to slightly longer than 2 hrs without any issues and we spent close to 2hrs managing the recoveries. For the 2 hrs we drove we clocked close to 50 Km at a fantastic pace doing all the maneuvers as planned in the dark. The 2 hrs we spent managing recoveries definitely kept us grounded🤣🤣. We will learn from all these and come back soon to have some fun and thrill in the dark albeit with lesser issues hopefully. Enjoy your week at work and see you all some time soon. Cheers

  3. Trip report Well we had signups who were pretty experienced even though it was a newbie drive and the challenges were hence managed with minimal issues. Quite impressive how you all managed the first technical bit in 10 to 20 min landing us in some nice long range dunes in quick time. Why I say this ? If you have time read the thread on the other IM drive on friday night , we spent close to 2 hrs in this initial bit managing the technical dunes. That's why I love this challenge of bringing different levels of drivers thinking we can ease through but it always turns otherwise - sand and dunes of Lisaili are a great leveller. You ease through with apparently less experienced members while you have a eventful drive with more experienced members with multiple stucks and refusals. Vow! @Lakshmi Narasimhan was absolutely perfect, impressive stuff. Very precise in keeping the perfect distance and correctly adjusting my minor mistakes. Well done and thank you. Love that wonderfully prepped Pajero of yours. @Gregory even though a NB in his rank was very well up to the challenges without any issues. I suppose you are there at FB now and please go ahead and apply for your promotion. We will review and get you to the next level, have fun. @Fabien Monleau managed his classic LC well , few refusals and probably a tug. All done quickly, and it was nice to see you quickly correct your approach on the small slip side straight climb we did. Well done. @N@ved thank you for managing he center forward well with clear instructions and perfect tugs where needed. I am so happy you are getting along that cute little TJ to pull monsters just like the story of a little tug boat guiding a huge container ship. Well done👍. @TT_Dubai no bumpers broken and a saved marriage🤣🤣. Frankly you did not because you drove beautifully with correct approaches and good control. Push that 5.7 V8 the same way and you will be having more fun. @Wade Pat2 goes well with the philosophy of a stock car can do as good as any modified car even though older. Some minor adjustments and you can go wherever all go which was seen . Thanks for some nice videos . @Ranjan Das managed his SWB wrangler well driving in the dark. It's time you bring the next level of your experience onto drives . Just enjoy your drives as you did with hardly any issues even though it was a NB drive. @Nivin s reassuring presence gave me the confidence to push the whole experienced bunch further with the challenge of driving in the dark. Thank you my friend. Please refrain from becoming complacent with a near flawless night drive we had on this day. Probably I did that and the very next day I was bought down with having an eventful drive, but all handled with correct measures. Desert is a great leveller , and build on the experience you gained on this drive. Have a nice week at work, see you all some time soon. Cheers

  4. Derive Report. Thank you everyone for being on time and come to the meeting point with full of energy. We started with short interaction, convey numbering and we hit the Bab al shams desert by 5:15min. This was my second lead and you all made this drive amazing to me. @Alain Canivet-Abikhalil, you played a very important role as a second lead, you were calm and drove very good with your Wrangler. you followed me perfectly in technical area and kept safe distance in long dunes. Well done. @Niki, You drove very well with you FJ-Cruiser and nicely followed the second lead paths. Well done… @Pierre de Maigret, you did great job with your FJC. Well done and and see you soon on the sand. @Chinthaka Ruwan, I did not hear that much from you and you were calm. you did great with your Xterra. well done and see you soon on the sand. @Chris Wing, you did great drive with your FJC. well done. @Frederic Special thanks to Marsal @Frederic for such a great support and technical advice to the team. Thank you and I really appreciate your support. @Zixuan HuangI didn’t hear that much in the radio about you. it means you handled well your big car, Nissan Pathfinder in technical area and long dunes. Well done buddy. @Russ same to you, I never heard anything about you on the radio communication and you did fantastic job with your big car, Ford Raptor . Thank you and hope to see you again @Miguel Ibarbia I am sure that you enjoyed long dunes with your Jeep Wrangler. You drove well. thank you and see you soon. @PaoloMaraziti You did great job with your FJC. Well done and and see you soon on the sand. @Sunil Mathew, I did not hear that much about you and it means you did such a great job with your Wrangler. Well done and hope to see you again @Janarthan, Thank you so much for your great support. You handled nicely all the supports needed in backside of Convoy. You made me to be more relax and fully focused to my lead responsibilities. Thank you again. Once again, thank you all and see you soon on the desert.

  5. Sorry for that Angela @Foxtrot Oscar. Yesterday I had 2 IM drives and both were very demanding in terms of endurance and skill. The last one in the night had a fellow driver's car immobilized and I stayed with him till the wee hours in the morning. I simply couldn't abandon a co driver with an immobilized car to fend for himself in the middle of the night and left only after making sure he will be well taken care of. That was more important than having fun today. The terrible heat during the morning drive and the lack of sleep during and after the night drive took a toll on me and I can't concentrate. I'm sure if I tag along for this drive with you I will become a liability as I cannot perform due to the physical toll on me. I have accompanied you in your desert escapades and will do so in the future but today I just can't. I can't hold my head straight. Messaging you when I got up for lunch. Will rest more and come out from this stupor.

  6. Dear @Abu Muhammad, dear @varunmehndiratta, I can share my own experience: as you know I've been driving a Nissan Patrol Y62 for over a year in the desert. I made it to @Carnity Expert level driving it and I was honestly very happy about it. Then a very unfortunate distraction made me miss a nasty pocket in a flat area and I fell nose down, smashing the front front bumper and mud fenders (I could anyway complete another 40km in the drive) resulting in a very small bending of the main chassis. Because of this bending the insurance prescribed (and covered, luckily) the full chassis replacement, for which - however - several months would be needed as the part would have to be manufactured in Japan and sent to UAE before replacement. This was happening on Feb 26th, and the outlook is to get the car back in September... Because of these circumstances, I decided to get myself another drive , as I didn't want to stay grounded more than 6 months and given that anyway our 2nd family car (a very old LR4) was meant to be replaced soon I took the chance to get a more off-road oriented car. I opted for a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Unlimited (ie LWB), with the intent to put it to the test well enough to decide what to drive from September onwards. Now I've been driving my JLU for 2 full months and taken it to the desert 25 times. Here are my first impressions: - JLU is way easier to drive; very capable, more agile; notably, less prone to fishtailing; despite the smaller engine, the power to weight ratio is similar to the Y62 but traction is slightly better; I seldom used the front diff-lock, but the rear one works better than the Y62 (which would often struggle to engage); I got in trouble on some rocks once and got away unlocking the sway bar; - the Offroad+ mode of the JLU changes the gearbox and engine behavior significantly, giving a very prompt response but, believe it or not, it results in more fuel consumption than the Y62, to the extent that I now tend not to use it unless I need to do extreme stuff; - the driver's comfort in the Y62 remains unmatched: you may be doing an extreme drive, but you still do so from a comfy living room; in particular, the A/C is way better in the Y62; i never sweated inside my Y62, I do every time in the JLU; - visibility is better in the Y62, as windows are bigger; the sense of 'where the car ends' is also better in the Y62, as the bumpers are compact and closer to the body, while the JLU has very prominent bumpers and the external spare wheel; - I seldom get to use the full raw power: 400hp vs 285hp may seem much, but compared to the weight, there isn't honestly a huge difference. What does really make a difference are the 560 Nm of torque (vs the 350Nm) which make the Y62 sustain raw power-driven climbs longer with spinning wheels; Y62 climbs on power (that requires less driver skills), while JLU climbs on agility and goes as far as the driver is capable of (by the way I didn't change the 255/75R17 wheels, which are way lighter than the 285/70R18 ones I had on the Y62). - wheels on JLU are closer to the front rear and bumpers are higher, so attack/depart angles are way better than the Y62 ones; this gives more comfort while riding, which however had been largely achieved by means of cut bumpers and skid plates also with the Y62; it must be said, however that the rear plastic bumper and the mud guards were real a weak point in the Y62; also, the presence of the spare tire under the car was often a serious reason for difficult stucks with the Y62, as the wheel itself becomes an obstacle to moving forward (or backward): having the wheel on the back door as in the JLU is way better; - the tailgate opening upwards in the Y62 is better, as if you park with the car inclined sideways to the left, the laterally hinged door of the JLU simply won't stay open (I'll have to install a door holder of some kind). Beyond this, everything else is emotional, so it boils down to totally subjective and personal feelings. Driving a Y62 at the top of Area 53 gives a sense of achievement that you don't get doing the same with a JLU: it is more difficult, it takes more skills and more guts, as the car is heavier and way more challenging to control; on the other hand, driving a JLU is easier, it allows more time to read the terrain, it is more forgiving of mistakes, it can do more in tight spots or extreme maneuvers, it gets stuck less frequently and, if you lead, it leaves you more time to focus on choosing the best line and checking your navigation. Either you drive a JLU with a bit less effort or you push it to a bit higher level, but if you are in for the most challenging experience as a DRIVER, the Y62 will challenge you more. What will I drive in September? I honestly don't know. My guess is both, depending on the mood of the day!!

  7. We started off with a really high speed, Baja style driving while going towards our entry point, but I guess that exhausted our vehicles due to which we spent around 45 mins trying to get them moving again 😂 The drive was Extremely fast paced which allowed us to make up for the time lost in recoveries and enjoy the drive to the fullest. I say offroad drives should be a mix of driving and recovering, as simply driving for hours tends to get quite boring 😂, we had our fair share of technical recoveries hence why, throughout the drive, boredom never existed. I want to thank @Chaitanya D for trusting me with the technical recoveries, allowing me to hone my recovery skills and help fellow drivers out. Not so long ago I was the one being recovered from such technical areas, this was when I learnt the art of recovery from @Carnity Marshal, and today I am the one giving back my skills and knowledge obtained to help my fellow off-roaders out of trouble, this emphasizes on how we in @Carnity grow together as a community. 👍

  8. @Chaitanya D thanks for a very eventful and exciting night drive. As far as I recall this was probably the first night intermediate drive for me!.. a nice fast paced drive with manoeuvres left right and Center of the crests and ridges! well driven everyone! @PacificI hope your car won’t keep you away for long time and that this only makes you keep going! I hope you had fun sweeping the convoy! Job well done @Rob H It was amazing to see @Thomas Varghese drive through the night. Some tricky areas but you managed it very well! Excellent teamwork by everyone ,with instructions of our fine marshal to get his X out of a tricky situation. See you guys soon!

  9. Thank you Guys for thr thrilling drive, the first part was challenging for everybody, I got stuck on almost a flat area😂😂not sure if that was because the brake fluid sensor that I disingaged which switched off most of the systems in the car, TSC, ABS, VDC, BLSD, BCI 😂 basically it turned my dashboard into a Christmas tree, maybe the 4Wheel wasn't working in its full power. After the stuck I put it the connector back and continued the drive with no issues but the sand wasn't as soft, so I can never tell if that connector was the reason. The weird vibration and noise apparently comming from sand sitting on the pulleys. Even today when I had a look, some pulleys where still full of sand.

  10. @Chaitanya Dit was a brutal first 45 minutes in those small dunes going technical. We were falling like dominos, desert is a great leveller as u said. Later part on the long dunes, multiple and continuous crisscrossing, some ridge driving were just what the Doctor ordered ..WE WANT MORE....WE WANT MORE ... Was finding catching up with u and @Pacificinitially difficult. @Rob H@MUHAMMAD Kashif RAZZAQthanks for the little lesson on modesty about how to accept praise @Lawrence_Chehimigood to see u again. @Thomas VargheseAwesome to drive with u again. Apart from the resourceful rope, cutting player that u had, how did u have also a small hammer in your tool kit ! @Rizwanm2good to know u. Look forward to driving more. @Pacificour convoy sequence from fewbie days is same, great to followu and thanks for flatenning the bump beofre I landed, hope car is okay.

  11. @Veedoosheeyour driving and recovering was fantastic . Really great to watch and learn. @Paolo Pellegrini it’s all about the driving skills not always the car, although I won’t start a huge debate here as some cars do have advantages, but the driving skills and constant learning are most important. Your driving was great also from what I saw behind your in the convoy. Hope we see some midweek drives not sure can wait till weekend again 😂

  12. Good morning fellow adventurers, As is always the case, last minute drop outs etc negates the need for two convoys. That said, everyone who is eligible and willing is able to take part today. We shall use Radio Chanel 1 (One) My proposed convoy is as follows: @Foxtrot Oscar Xterra Marshal Lead @Arman Silver Wrangler IM 2nd Lead @RooRzOn Y62 F+ #rd @Matt.T White Wrangler F+ 4th @Xavier Treasurer Xterra F+ 5th @Alexander Alcala Grey Wrangler Adv CF @Ruan van den Heever Grey Wrangler F+ 7th @Darren Brooke Tahoe F+ 8th @JeromeFJ FJ F+ 9th @Lakshmi Narasimhan Pajero F+ 10th @Ranjan Das White Wrangler F+ 11th @Jack Thomas F150 IM 12th @Shehab Alawadhi F150 IM 13th @Islam Soliman Yukon Expert 14th Hi @Werno this is a Fewbie Plus drive . we have changed the structure, previously you could have joined with 5 Fewbie drives but now you actually need to have Fewbie Plus rank to join. sorry about that , hope to drive with you soon

  14. Well @Foxtrot Oscar another really enjoyable drive with some technical, some fun, more learning, and kept me smiling. Thanks to @Alexander Alcalakeeping watch in the middle and @Islam Soliman sweeping up at the rear. A great bunch of drivers with very few problems meant we spent most of the drive driving and not digging, always a good result. A couple of pop outs but dealt with and rectified remarkable quickly. All in all a good Saturday afternoon 🙌 thanks.

  16. Well spotted @Sunil Mathew, the further you are in the convoy, the more churned up the sand will be, so it’s a good decision to slightly go next to the used track (one or tyre widths), and to exit early if you see that the side slops is too churned up.

  17. Thank you @Yousef Alimadadi, @Frederic and @Janarthan for the wonderful lead, support and choice of terrain Got a chance to understand first hand that driving at #12 in a 13 car convoy comes with its challenges 1. Churned up sand 2. Bumpy tracks - i believe due to some car/cars in the convoy having intermittent wheel locks due to sharp steering + differential action? I kept seeing these closely spaced bumps on one wheel track, normally the outer wheel - i think 3. The mound of sand on the lower side of a dune slope, created by cars in front, on long sideys - which i struggled to navigate and choose my lines correctly. probably @Janarthan can comment, as i could not sustain a couple of sideys for the full distance, and exited early. It was a new learning experience and a strong upward nudge to my off-road learning curve. My Nav app says, we covered 62 Km in almost 4 hrs..good going to all fellow drivers. Couldnt witness much of the action - stucks/recoveries/pop out etc - all were happening somewhere "far" at the front For my fewbie debut ride, i had my fill, so Looking forward and coming back for more!! 18. Being in sand with a Radio Captain’s point of view is a whole new experience, allows me to sit back and fully embrace the beauty of the desert with worrying about getting stuck 😂. The convoy was rather large, but having more skilled drivers at the back end minimized the potential refusal/stucks so that we could keep moving. Despite being relatively new to sand, everyone drove really well for the most part, although I would really like to emphasize on Throttle Control and the law of Never fighting against Gravity, remember, its better to have a refusal than something catastrophic. Thanks @Wrangeld @Veedooshee @Islam Soliman for managing and making this drive possible, it was really fun, until next time. Well done @Abdul Rafay-S👍

  20. Thank you @Chaitanya D for a very impressive drive report. I appreciate about your comments on me fishtailing and will definitely try to improve on that area. To be truthful when I was negotiating that climb I had put in more power initially so that the X will climb and nothing was felt inside the car except the bumps. I was surprised you had announced over the radio to me to being careful that I fishtailed a lot but I know you must have seen it and had got concerned. Maybe I was not fully alert and attentive. Thank you for pointing it out. The drive was superb in terms of challenges and speed. Looking forward for future drives with you.

  21. Hi guys, had fun filled ,adrenaline gushing, thrilling roller coasters after initial hitch. Thank you @Chaitanya D. Car is at Trading, as usual they are lousy, they will report after 2to3 days then let's see what happens, I just put there thinking ,they would cover in warranty. My sincere gratitude and all words are not enough to thanks @Gok Krish, @Gaurav Soni, @Thomas Varghese, for staying back till wee hours. Love you guys. Big thanks , even he dropped me to home,@Chaitanya D appreciated . Carnity 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗.

  22. @Wrangeld, An awesome drive yet again and this one had me pressing throttle to the floor at a couple of occasions 😂. Drives as such are what I’ve been looking forward to ever since I decided to join Carnity as a Driver, thanks for making that happen. The pace of the drive was really good with decent amount of technical patches, yet we had minimal refusals and barely any serious stucks. ngl, on the baja super sand highway, I really wanted to ‘Send It’ but knowing my car is a lifted swb, I would’ve spent more time up in the air rather than on the ground😅. Thanks to the Convoy Management Squad, @Shehab Alawadhi@Arman@Veedooshee@Islam Soliman and @MUHAMMAD Kashif RAZZAQ, for helping with all the recoveries and ensuring the convoy kept moving. See you all next time!

  24. The second option is the best by attacking the slope with a little bit more momentum than the guy before you with the aim of going a bit higher on the slope. Also your angle of approach towards the slope can be slightly changed so you can ascent the slope from a fresher track.

  27. Yes @varunmehndiratta or it may well be both the driver and the car 😂. From what I heard the Jeeps are made for off roading and it’s so relaxing, most of the times it does all the job for you. By the way I never owned a Jeep so no first hand experience.

  30. Hi @Wade Pat2. You have a time tested great car ,no doubt. Yes for smaller tighter technical places you need some minor adjustments in terms of approach and departures , considering the longer wheel base which you will master with practice sooner than later. We have some friends with extra LWB monster trucks like RAM, F150/Raptors and Tundra doing the technical dunes and they in fact drive much better than the SWB cars.

  32. @Chaitanya D thanks for the great drive. Your night drives are great and I am learning alot. I enjoyed the short time in small tech dunes. I don't have the best car for the small places but would love to try them for a little longer in a morning or afternoon drive one day. Hoping to try my first fewbie drive this week before leaving Dubai for the summer. Thanks again for leading and teaching.

  40. Dear @varunmehndirattayoure praising the Jeeps which not a problem but today from what we witness from the back Jeeps had more refusals and stocks by the way did you know that some heavy cars in the back were not Jeeps and did not had any refusal? Or not as much as cars in the front So surely from what we saw from the back it was the Jeeps and other white cars that had the most problems.

  41. Thanks a lot @Foxtrot Oscarand the rest of the supporting team @Pacific @Gaurav Soni @Abdulrahmanand @Tbonefor an amazing experience driving at night!! I loved it!! Thanks also to the rest of the convoy, you did great guys. See you on the dunes !

  42. Thanks Fred @Frederic for the guidance. Just to clarify further, when you say "go next to the used track" on a slope , i can see 2 choices 1. offset my track towards the down side of the slope - here i run the risk of going over the "mound of sand" created by the cars in front, and bounce couple of times, as my tyres clear this "mini dune". Ultimately this is what i did, but i exited instead of continuing the side slope. OR 2. Offset my track towards upside of slope - here i run the risk of fighting gravity, but is it wise to do fine corrections in steering and still move uphill ? Could you offer your thoughts on these, if its not asking for too much ?

  44. @Yousef Alimadadi what a super ride you led today! The track you planned has made me appreciate Quadra so much more! I didn’t know it could be that much fun! You really did give us a full 7 course meal: technical, ridge riding, fast paced sidies, ropes, shovel, a pop out and the rare ‘push’ down the dune technique Great lead and super support from @Frederic and @Janarthan (I truly appreciate the knowledge you both shared during the recoveries). Special mention to @Alain Canivet-Abikhalil who was superb as SL!! super pics in the gallery !! 45. hello guys and good day ahead . it was yet another wonderful day offroading and we all showed up on time. after deflating started off at around 5.40. it was an adventurous newbie drive and was a drive for all of us to evaluate ourselves as newbies , fewbie and above..🤪 . The sand being very soft, it was a real task to manuver and all the drivers did exceptionally well. None of the convoy members had any major issues handling it. More over all the drivers did a great job to avoid any major stucks or issues like pop outs. we had our initial stuck and recovery just few meters away from the pebble track and it was there we faced an issue with the gear of wrangler and had to exit him out. after a few minutes break we started off again and it was this part of the drive where our ability as offroaders were put to a test. 😃. The terrain was more than enough to give us the challenges. we had to push through some very technical areas and super soft patches, some sideys to boost up the adrenaline levels and two bowls in which one was interrupted by a flock of camels and a part of the convoy had to step back from attempting it ☹️. losing quite some time in refusals, stucks and recoveries and as the temperature was rising, we had to head out to the exit point at around 9.50, a little more than the mentioned time. Thank you guys for being a part of this drive and for some morning workout for me and @Kailas🤪🤪. Thank you @Brette for the drive and giving me an opportunity to be a part of your managing team. @Ammar Naji, perfectly executed second lead and did well in managing his full size SUV, good work buddy👍👍. @Dwain Fernandes , did amazing with his pajero and didn't hear much from you in the radio. well done 👍 . @FARAZ MOHAMMED. as informed by yourself, it was your second drive and had some issues today, but you did a great job buddy. it was really challenging and stucks and refusals are an inevitable part of this sport. as we all know experiences makes us perfect. well done and keep up the spirit bro👍👍👏👏. @AbuNar it was unfortunate that you had to exit out just minutes after we entered the desert and hope to see you and your wrangler back in action soon☹️. @Jamil Abou Assali very well done buddy. you were just conquering what ever obstacles came on your way and enjoying the " Penta star" performances. cool👍👏👏👏. @Saddaquat Tanvir with one of the powerful and big machine in the convoy, did amazing today. had a couple of refusals, which were mostly out of trying to protect your front bumper skirting . Did well and keep it up man 👏👏. @Alfred Alinazar did a clean drive today and didn't face much of issues even in completely churned up sand. very good buddy👍. @Tareck with his Y62, you were amazing and dealt with the challenges successfully.. keep going buddy👍. @Anoop Nair with his wrangler performed really well and I believe you were all charged today to take up any level 👏👏. keep up the spirit @Kailas thank you for sweeping us to the safety and special mention for the support tips and helps in recoveries. Thanks you all once again and keep cool

  46. Post Drive Report We more or less delivered on the promise today. There was a lot of travelling time and even thought we did have refusals and stucks, considering we were a convoy of 16 cars we still managed to cover the ground from Murquab to Last Exit (OK - the bit to Last Exit was more sand driving training than excitement) and the dunes in between. The start of the drive was punctuated by a few refusals that took time, but we still managed to swoop and swerve all the way to the Baja highway. By the number of people that had to take a bio break by that time, I can only assume that our driving time was long enough because otherwise most would have taken the chance during a recovery. Our Baja highway moment was also less extreme than I had wanted, but it's essential to respect the rules of the desert. You cannot leave someone in trouble alone in the Desert. Escorting the bike out of the highway slowed us down. All of you know now what awaits when you get the chance to follow the same route again. Once off the highway, I was getting conscious of the time, so our investigation of the wide and wonderful dunes to the West of Solar Park was cut a bit shorter than I wanted originally. It's an area to which I am going to return as soon as possible because the dunes there are so, so tempting. And then, into Last Exit. By the time we turned West again to get into Qudra proper, drivers and cars were getting tired because of the punishing heat and I decided to take the easier exit from the dunes and then drive along the Hamari Well Road so we could at least finish at Last Exit. Just so you know, I chose that sand track because the 4 - 5km of sand through which we drive is excellent training for driving in soft sand elsewhere - an exercise that is worthwhile because it does not look like it. Arriving at Last Exit we saw the Fewbie convoy and inflated. Sorry if I did not say goodbye to everyone individually. This was a true Newbie drive. For anyone above Newbie, today should have been relaxing; a chance to practice some skills and an opportunity to enjoy being in the sand without any pressure. Thanks to the IM drivers @Shehab Alawadhi @Mario Cornejo and @Arman who helped out throughout the drive. You don't realize how reassuring it can be for the lead and support to have your input and, as it turned out, the invaluable personal experience of having started his career in a Ford meant that @MUHAMMAD Kashif RAZZAQ was able to really help with the problems that were faced in that car. Please also keep in mind that for newbies, seeing IM drivers on their drives is inspirational and aspirational. To my other support, @Veedooshee in CF I felt a little guilty about sending you out into the sun with your shovel and rope, but you were outstanding in that role and @Islam Soliman: the rank says 'Expert' and that's a pretty accurate description. I'm not going to call out any other drivers specifically, because I think that everyone did well in the vehicle that they brought to the drive ... and some are more suited to this hobby than others. See you soon in the sand.
