Hi everyone, I am adding the 'plain' summary of what happened during the yesterday's drive after the wonderful work done by @Shaaz Sha. I wanna thank you everybody who came to yesterday's drive, after some time I was again in one of my favorite places, Area 53! and quite excited to let @Shaaz Sha lead for the first time. Everybody was on time and we were ready to move as soon as the light was enough. Despite my high expectations, our wonderful drive could start in a better way. @Chinthaka Ruwan's car, when we were about to start, was unable to turn on and we had to leave the car to the starting point. The convoy was responding very well to the @Shaaz Sha challenges. Both the Iftar and Super Bowl were very busy. A lot of noise and cars that were crossing each other then decided to leave the area quite soon. Despite some refusals the drive was progressing well. Very good lead from @Shaaz Shaas lead and @Russas sweep. Near iftar bowl (on the way back) @Abu Muhammad found the engine was getting hot. I decided to bring him to the nearest exit to avoid adding more stress on his car. In the meanwhile @Shaaz Sha and @Russ were leading the group to the planned exit. Everything was easy with @Abu Muhammad. Thank you to @JeromeFJ for being the sweep in our small convoy. When I was coming back to meet @Shaaz ShaI saw his message. Was telling me that @Thomas Varghese’s car was broken. He was anyway reaching the exit point with the rest of the convoy so I went there to meet him. After leaving everybody we went to recover @Thomas Varghese’s Car with the help of @Russ. Reached back the car that was quite far to the exit. We spent some time finding an easy way out and decided to tug the car with @Russ’s F150. The way that @Russ and his Raptor was handling Varghese’s car was impressive, no issue in crossing the small dune that we were unable to skip and safely reached the exit. I wanna congratulate @Shaaz Shafor being able to handle a not-at-all easy drive. Very good start! For sure you bring with you an incredible experience in terms of learning how to handle such situations. A big Thank you to @Russ. Your driving skills are impressive, your attitude is the perfect mix of enthusiasm and discipline. Thank you again for coming and hope to see you soon!

Hello guys. Thanks to @Thomas Varghese, @Chinthaka Ruwan, @Russand @Rawad @Ranjan Dasfor your reports and feed backs. I believe you all had a wonderful day in the desert. we were all at the meeting point in time, all set and ready to hit the sand. Just before the start @Chinthaka Ruwancar was reluctant to start and we did our best to make it alive..finally had no choice other than parking it safely at the entry point itself. @Chinthaka Ruwanjoined @Russand we started our drive delayed by few minutes. At the debut we had some refusals,.. as the cars and the drivers needed a warm up and in our third attempt to climb the preliminary dunes at Badayer area all cars made it to the top. For me it was a different level of feel as a lead for the first time and thank you guys for all the positive vibes and for making my day. The area was too crowded and cross tracks all over, it was a difficult task to make our way through but with such strong convoy and super lead at the second lead position we could cover most of the areas and make it back to the exit. On our way back to the exit @Abu Muhammadcar had an electric failure with his cooling fans and started over heating. @Luca Palanca Falsiniand @JeromeFJexited him safely to the nearest exit. After a few minutes of drive @Thomas Varghesexterra had its check engine light on and the car came to limp mode. It was difficult to make it to the exit with his car and we had to leave the car at the spot and head to the exit with rest of the convoy. Thank you @Luca Palanca Falsinifor your TRUST/ADVICES/TRICKS AND TIPS and for providing me an opportunity to lead the convoy, (which every off roader wish for).. Thanks for making it my day sir. Hope i made it up to your expectation. Thanks to @Abu Muhammadand @Ranjan Dasfor your well executed CF roles and hats off to @Russ for your great work as the sweep. You did an amazing job at the back , controlling the convoy, assisting the recoveries and your updates from behind helped me soo much buddy.Thank you for your help after the drive in recovering the limp car to the exit. did an excellent job which was not all easy. It was your best day to start off as support team and all the best ahead. Thanks to @Thomas Varghese, @Javier Lucero, @JeromeFJ, @Alain Canivet-Abikhalil, @Amir Amiriand @Rawadfor making it a wonderful drive and you guys were amazing. Really sad for @Chinthaka Ruwanas he was there all the way, but couldn't make it.. hope you sorted out the issue with your X. @Abu Muhammad and @Thomas Varghese...guys wish a speedy recovery for your desert comrades. Oh boy… I left the office by 5 with a sea of time to go grab a bite, Top up the tank, take some rest, and get prepped for an amazing night drive. Until the battery died at the gas station… Several jump start attempts and eventually a push later from a few guys that were angels sent from heaven, I googled the nearest workshop and rushed to get a new battery installed. Hence I was a bit late but with a little help from my dearest friends we were quickly deflated and good to go. My adrenaline levels were still a bit high from the rush to the meeting point and they would stay pretty high the entire night, owing to Sri squeezing out every inch of usable dune or slope. Resulting in Little Blue screaming with pleasure 😅 Some shoveling and fixing cars are key fun ingredients in those kinds of drive, and when @Gauravs battery also died the same night, that convinced me even more that our cars are as linked together as much we are. Kudos to @Zed for taking his white ship of the desert unscathed (well almost) through this terrain. Also @Mus_hus78 and @GauravSoni with LWB Pajeros surfing through the dunes and proving that they are so underrated. @Ruan van den Heever @Xavier Treasurer @Asif Hussainand @Gaurav were the perfect team and took every challenge with a laugh and came back asking for more. There is absolutely nothing else that could be improved, and your 100th lead was memorable. Forget the bulldozered dunes and cross tracks, there is something to be said about perfect imperfections that make it “unforgettable”. Thanks to all for being part of it and the great night out !

Hello friends ! Well I think you said it all Congrats @Shaaz Sha it was a very challenging, eventful and exciting drive ! I am happy to be one of the firsts to drive in your lead and I hope we were up to your expectations ! Same for @Russ congrats on your first "official" support, even though you've been successfully supporting for a while already. Thank you @Luca Palanca Falsini and @Abu Muhammad for support and advices, @Javier Lucero for second lead and well done everyone. As someone said above, when we pass across other off roaders, I feel privileged to be part of @Carnity !

What an eventful morning we had! I had the unexpected pleasure of @Chinthaka Ruwanand his friend after Chinthaka’s car failed to start before we entered the sand - good to hear it’s an easy/cheap fix! @Shaz Shah it was a great first lead from you in difficult circumstances, as well as the technical issues with a couple of cars, you also had to lead in an area where drivers from other clubs and convoys seem to have little regard for themselves, their vehicles or anyone else around them. I for one was thinking how good it was to be part of @Carnityoff-road club who take those things seriously and where we can all be assured of a safe exit at the end of a good drive! @Luca Palanca Falsini thanks for arranging this drive and always good to chat with you. @Thomas Varghese what a morning we had together! Very enjoyable to follow your line through the challenging terrain! You managed to make the maximum use of the possibilities considering the other convoys and cars circling around. For us it required our full concentration to navigate through the bowls and ridges, and avoiding the soft patches, every thing you would expect from an IM drive ! Drive Report We started off with a nice short climb into the dunes, and then moved around the low gentle slopes as we made our way to Pink Rock and with only one or two refusals in a challenging route then I knew this Newbie convoy was ready to climb Pink Rock. One by one we went up with only two reattempts as @Daniel Rodasand @Alfred Alinazar sussed out what their Pajeros could do. As we left Pink Rock I took the opportunity to talk about the dunes that lay ahead, low , sweeping curves…..yummy. With the convoy happy to give it a go we took those dunes , gently and smoothly and then found the delicious dune that allows you to make your way down, steep, controlled and wonderful to see as everyone manage it with zero issues. I did increase the challenge as we moved through the dunes and we had a couple of minor refusals as we went along. As to be expected. The shovel nor the rope was used in this challenging terrain is a credit to the convoy and to the support team for talking everyone through self recoveries and of course the drivers for listening to instructions. As we headed towards Big Red Alfred announced his engine light had come on, we tried to resolve the issue but to no avail. With time not on our side , I decided it was best to exit the convoy as we were still some way from Tarmac. We took a gentle route to the closest exit point and inflated. I was very impressed with everyone in the convoy. @Gertjan had a very good drive, with very few issues @Marky B and @GratefulKRD likewise dealing with refusals you had with ease. Well done @Manish Kashyapfor handling your raptor in some tight spots. Shout out to the Pajero Posse at the back who @jeetu sharma @Alexanderrr@Alfred Alinazarand @Daniel Rodas who all handled the sands well and again got themselves out of trouble by listening to and following instructions. Many thanks to the excellent support today, to @Looperr for being a great 2nd lead to @Hisham Masaad who was always there to talk everyone through tricky spots and to @Rawad who swept everything at the back and kept the convoy going. Thanks again to all of you for indulging me as I led you through Cowboy Country, it’s a pity we had to finish a little earlier than planned, but we never leave anyone out there. @Alfred Alinazar I it’s an easy fix. Congrats @Srikumar for completing your 100 lead drives. I am happy to be a part of your platinum drive which i will never forget, it was a super duper drive. You scaled all tall dunes which we really get scared to do at daylight. @Gaurav @Frederic @Srikumar @Mus_hus78 @Zed @Ruan van den Heever @Xavier Treasurer @Gaurav Soni it was wonderful experience to drive with all of you. @Ruan van den Heever was like a cop in our convoy with blue and red flashing light. Following you was like i was chasing a cop vehicle.

Hahaha... Personally I wanted it to be a special occasion with some good friends, old and new. For that I have to thank @Gaurav @Frederic and @Asif Hussain for joining this drive. It was so good to be driving together after what, 2 years? Plus when you have the excellent company of @Mus_hus78 @Zed @Ruan van den Heever @GauravSoni @Xavier Treasurer you know that there is going to be loads and loads of laughter. Regarding the drive of yesterday, it's safe to say that the bulldozer tracks have completely messed up the best dunes of the area. Dodging through that to find some tracks was the whole theme of yesterday's drive which added to the complexity and posed new challenges. Resulted in a few stucks and refusals, which brought out all the shovels and friendly banter as well. The deeper we went in Sweihan the lesser was the presence of bulldozer tracks (infact we found the bulldozer that was killing the whole of Sweihan), but the few remaining dunes had plenty of cross tracks from other places off-roaders. But keeping inline with the drive theme we did have our share of ridge riding , criss crossing and some interesting bowls to cross. We did have our play area to rev our engines to the limit. Excellent driving by all the drivers in what was genuinely a challenging terrain. Thanks guys and see you soon once again in the sands of Abu Dhabi (not Sweihan).

Good morning fellow adventurers, The weather is cooling and the red sands of Tawi Nizwa await! I hope today to finish at Big red via Pink Rock, I call it cowboy country as it resembles something from the Cowboy films I watched as a kid. Here's hoping we have a convoy full of big chiefs, Haha It's a great training ground for some more advanced driving skills in relatively safe dunes, but as ever the drive is dependent on the entire convoy in terms of everyone's 'comfort levels'. YES! with Islam every drive is an adventure from beginning to the end the title did not promise too much…It started already with the deflation point. For me it was the first Lisaili ride, I followed google and it lead me to an exit to a dead end where I just thought “okay, I will never make it to the deflation point without deflating!” I was proven right by the fact that one chap out of the carnity community got stuck, so the tour started with a recovery before the tour started. After this first successful recovery box was ticked, we were hit hard by the fact that the fence season started and there were young and old fences all over the place. Which directly lead us into the second adventure of the day. Thank you Islam I saw more camels on this ride than in my entire life before. Once these hurdles were taken and we successfully entered the desert the drive started to be challenging and technical narrow dune formations steep climbs, bumps, pockets followed by side sloping, flat high-speed areas and climbs. I learned a lot even during the drive and climbed at the end more effectively with less throttle and better momentum. Also during this drive I liked the dynamics of the group and the variety of cars…saw for the first time a hummer performing in the desert which was quite impressive. Thank you @Islam Soliman for leading us through all terrain and making the drive a true adventure. Even though I was not able to be part of the drive; after reading your experiences, I felt as if I was there. @Russ, it seems your first day as official sweep tested your limits. However, it seems it was a walk in the park for you. Look forward to driving with you guys soon!

DRIVE REPORT Dear Desert Wanderers, I was a bit skeptical this morning after so many dropouts from the RSVP.. It felt like this drive was not meant to happen, after all! I was so wrong!! In fact it was a beautiful drive, with a great convoy, across a wonderful landscape. After a quick briefing in the early afternoon warm sun, we started our drive by 2:35pm. The short convoy ultimately had only 6 cars, of which two Newbies, @Omar ElGamal and @Patrick van der Loo, driving their first Newbie Drive after an Absolute Newbie and a Masterclass drive respectively, one Fewbie, @Larry Cadden, and more senior members. A shorter and stronger convoy usually means less stucks and refusals, more fun, more distance, more driving time. We actually ticked all the boxes, as we had only one stuck with @Omar ElGamal at the very beginning and very few refusals later on again with Omar and with @Patrick van der Loo. @Melenany managed well the only recovery of the day, towing@Omar ElGamal out of a soft patch he had unfortunately ended in after correctly steering down on a slide slope where he had lost momentum. After this single episode our ropes (and shovels) never left our trunks until Moon Lake, when @Melenany lended his rope to help some sports car get unstuck nearby. As we headed west and then progressively south into the desert along a zig-zag route, we started practicing first some small slideslopes, then progressively bigger ones, alternated with smaller and bigger half circles, which allowed our Newbie friends to get the feeling of what it takes to climb up the windside of those long dunes and stay up there, sidelsloping for longer and longer distances, keeping the car afloat on the sand thanks to the right combination of speed (ie momentum), full or gentle throttle, and smooth and round steering up and down. Sidelsloping was indeed the leitmotiv of the day. What in the first 30 minutes seemed almost impossible to achieve, became progressively more doable as a result of extended practice: going just outside the comfort zone, in a safe and controlled way, eventually leads to realize how quickly the comfort zone gets bigger! It should be said that, while honing our driving skills we went through beautiful dunes and amazing views. We crossed multiple rocky formations which were so stunning to deserve a photo stop: We then made it to the famous Richie's bar, a must-photograph location in Al Qudra for any offroader.. .. especially @Melenany: We then continued across amazing long range dunes, where, besides sidelsloping, we could practice straight up - straight down dune crossing. We first started with some small ones .. .. but we quickly built up the confidence of our newbies to do way more challenging attempts: We got to see oryxes and gazelles, some running just a few meters away, too fast to be captured in a photograph, but we also got to see amazing views in the "golden hour" before the sunset, when the light of the sun becomes warmer and more inclined, painting the sand with amazing colors and shades: It was at this point that @Omar ElGamal's Pajero started having some apparent overheating problems. Weird case, though, as the temperature gauge showed normal values, the fluid in the tank was well within normal levels and the car was driving perfectly fine. Possibly an electronic malfunction, a faulty sensor or an issue on the radiator fan. As nothing indicated a real problem it was decided to allow Omar to complete the drive while keeping a close eye on the temperature gauge. As the sunset time was about to be reached, we made our move towards our last stop, Al Qudra's Moon Lake, where we enjoyed a well deserved, refreshing chill-out: In the twilight after the sunset, we quickly made our way out through the sabkha, reaching the dirt track to Bab Al Shams and eventually the tarmac by 5:50pm. Overall we drove the amazing distance of 55.2km over a total time of 3h 13' from start to end, of which 2h 29' spent in motion and 44' stopped, mostly for photos and a quick break as we certainly didn't lose much time on stucks and refusals. Great kudos to @Omar ElGamal (let us know how your cooling problems got sorted) and @Patrick van der Loo for an excellent performance today, especially considering that, in a couple of places we surely reached good technical levels for a Newbie drive. For both of you the key takeaway today is keep up the momentum and never fight gravity (I must have repeated it a hundred times!). Great thanks to @Larry Cadden, an impeccable 2nd lead today, to @Melenany for an excellent support during stucks and refusals and to @Looper for a quiet but yet reassuring sweeping at the back. It was a pleasure being with you all, thanks for your company and see you soon again on the sand!

A few relatively new fewbies and not the easiest terrain; it turned out to be a little challenging but I hope you all learnt a lot and I was really impressed with radio communication and convoy discipline. Nothing major: lots of refusals, self recoveries, reattempts and a little bit of shoveling 3 rope recoveries and nice team spirit and patience from everyone. The terrain was quite technical in places, but everybody made it. Well done! Very nice second lead from Dave and wonderful support from Mario and Richard. As a lead I tend not to make many pictures, so only a few of them in the gallery. Nice to see you all and looking forward to the next time

Thank you @Srikumar for leading the drive, you found a good play area to test uphill and tree-resistance 👍🏻, which was next to Mehmet’s big dune marked by the 2 barbed wires in the middle, but this may be better to see during the day… good call to skip it. For some reason I kept seeing it as Nagrah, maybe cos after midnight and out-of-coffee 😂 Thank you for the: - spot-on instructions left-right to exit crested situation without any tug by @Gaurav bhai, - extra lighting, advice, and the exercising muscle power 💪 to push Jeep backwards by @Asif Hussain bhai, - @Frederic for being great 3rd car and showing me how to keep up and maintain distances in night drive. At times you just forgot there’s a Tank behind you and you left me scratching my head which tracks to choose… good to hone my tracks-reading intuition in split seconds 😅 @Ruan van den Heever’s lights didn’t help except when I’m stopping I can feel like the police car chasing behind me and ready to give a fine 😁 Well this drive convinced me I need amber lights on the Y62 for my own sake next time… - @GauravSoni for trying to fix the rear bumper, actually we had to unscrew 3 pins and then push it up, we did it before with Pacific with only 2ppl but it was during daylight, so didn’t want to waste time and losing pins in the night 😂 - @Mus_hus78 and @Xavier Treasurer for shoveling during my 2 crested moments, thanks bros 👍🏻 To the person commenting the Bulldozer did a Sidee, well here is video of the culprit in broad daylight doing it 😄 telegram-video.mp4

The relief is mine @Russ. I was worried if I could take the car out. Knew it was do able but wanted the perfect driver and the car to do it. Well you were the handyman. Thanks for your help in tugging it out. I think we pulled it out almost 3.6km as per my odometer and please its no small feat. The driver of the pulling car and the driver of the pulled car has to think alike and match each others moves like a dance. There was only 1 fear I had, sometimes your pull was little more hard and I was afraid one of our tow hooks may tear off. I think very soon you will master this art too. Its no small feat that we achieved. Regarding safety features of @Carnity drives I agree with you 100%. I have never seen any other club follow safety from the 1st line to the last line like our club. Sometimes I feel whole carnity is about driving in the desert safely which I like. That's why I didn't give in to other club temptations and stayed back. Once again thank you @Shaaz Sha, @Luca Palanca Falsini, @Russ and @Abu Muhammad for the wonderful experience you gave all of us.

Thank you so much @Lorenzo Candelpergherfor a great ride. Aside from being great fun it really felt safe with no unnecessary risks at any time. For a first timer I felt super excited and motivated to keep going. This ride proves I joined the right club. I am just not sure why I dreamt about gravity all night Thank you also to @Looper for the help and especially @Melenany for the help with my flag problems and general advice. Super day out!

My Car starting mortor failed and I put it in the garage. Tomorrow it will be fixed and I'll be able to join with you guys next week. Luckily it happened before entering to the desert. I really tankful for everyone for the support. I really wanted to participate this drive so I decided to go with @Russ and it was a great experience for me. Just relax and enjoy the drive. Thanks @Russ for the wonderful ride. @Shaaz Sha it was a tough day in a difficult terrain with lot of other vehicles but you managed to make the drive enjoyable and take everyone back safely. Couldn't be a better start for a lovely weekend. Thank you @M.Seidam for giving us such a wonderful day by leading this excellent drive to the Pink Rock & Big Red - I had missed those tremendous dunes... We started our day with some surprises as @Tbone faced some problems with his car and had to cancel his drive planned in Tawi Nizwa. We reorganized everything with him quickly in the early morning to accommodate our friends @munkybizness @Mohamad Anwer and @Hisham Masaad into our convoy. Then we merged two convoys and started our drive with 14 cars lined up. This would be challenging for a fewbie drive if not everyone was that much good! Barely had some small refusals and only a couple of stucks - thanks to unbelievable performance of each single member within the convoy! On the position 2nd, I was following a very sound leader, @M.Seidam, who managed the whole drive with fine-tuned levelling, pacing, routing and instructing. Prepared a bunch of fun for us by taking the convoy to the famous playgrounds of Pink rock and Big Red through a well planned route on fresh dunes. Thank you my friend for this amazing day and welcome to the leadersboard! Can't wait to support your upcoming drives! @Hisham Masaad and @Rizwanm2 ; it was really nice to see you with us! Excellent ,great drive with a mix of everything - technical, long range, good pace. Its been quite some time @Anish S since i joined one of your drives. I was a regular in all your mid week fewbie drives back in July, and it really was very good to be back in your territory of Lisaily. We were driving smoothly and just swooping and flowing through the small bowls, riding the ridges and crossing all the way and having fun. Minor issues with @Anoop Nair's car which resulted in the latter half of the convoy exploring a different track from what Anish took , @Charbel's passenger and the final side stuck from our Marshal recovered by a team shovelling and @Veedooshee at the wheel, the drive was pretty uneventful and we had radio silence all along, which i didnt want to break with "all good at the back" announcements, being the sweep!! Was great to drive with @Chris Wing again, hope that piece of wood you found is now neatly resting in your beautiful garden ...sorry to reveal the secret here , hope your tyre is all good and now you know the difference between my car and Anoop's @Pacific - i believe it was a smooth and easy ride for you as well and it was good to just follow your corrected lines without thinking twice. Hi All, Thanks for the great Absolute Newbie drive yesterday. We covered a great track that was not easy and simple. Yes, we had some stucks, but that's totally expected on this type of introductory drive. Myself and @Alex Raptor really enjoyed meeting you all and were impressed in what we saw. Also a special thanks to the portable shovel, the fantastic @Danish Mohammad - your assistance was amazing and truly appreciated. Some specific feedback from what I picked up: @Fauzia Parveen - you really needed to get out of the passenger seat sooner. You've learned a lot from sitting there, which is why it was good to have you as a 2nd lead - you understand what's going on in a convoy and what needs to be managed. Your confidence will grow. @Imteeaz Goolamhossen - just watching the constant smile on your face the whole drive was an absolute pleasure. It looked like you and your boys are really going to get involved in this new hobby together, and based on this showing, I think that you will be scaling heights soon. Great start, keep it up. @Harshad Ashraf - You've got the land cruiser well under control on this showing. I think this was an excellent first drive. Patient, controlled, careful. I like the way you manage the vehicle and the care you take with the long overhangs on the car. @VIJAYA KUMAR DOPPA - Apologies for confusing you with Marcin on one or two occasions. You had a few stucks and recoveries where you managed the challenge, some where you needed to listen more closely to what was said. Following instructions is an essential part of the team work. I think that as a beginner, when you have more than one stuck you start to feel guilty and then want to hurry recoveries because you think that you are holding up the convoy. You are not. Everyone is learning, even from what you are doing. @Shams Bin Majeed - so glad you got your chance in the Land Rover this week. I think you need to sort out issues around how the gearing works and maintaining the high and low ratios in place as that impacted a few of the stucks during the drive. I felt you have a good control of power and when to use it. @Vishal Nair - big black brand new Pajero and it left as beautiful as it arrived, so a great job there. Nice first drive. Well controlled and managed throughout. Keep it up. @Kaleem Ur Rahman - once you start to fully appreciate the benefits of the Prado this hobby will bite you and you will not be in a position to escape again. This was a good introduction from you, showing that you will grow in ability efficiently the more you drive. @Sibin Nellissery - Our third FJ and at the back of the pack is never an easy place to be. You handled the problems well and in particular the recovery by Alex which could have been challenging. the FJ is a great tool (see other comments here to the owners) and I think you really showed a sensitivity and control to the way you drove. Well done. @Claire Adshead - always brave to come on a drive with your other half. Even more so with your monster vehicle. I promise you, as you get more and more experience you'll soon be pressing the 'ludicrous' button. As a first drive you did very well handling the monster and recovering in the few instances where there were problems and soft sand. @Waqas Parvez - You indicated a level of experience with other clubs before joining in the Absolute Newbie. Driving at the back I did not get chance to see as much as I would have liked, but I see that in principle, you coped with everything that was put in front of you. I cannot ask for anything more. I think you have a command of the basics. You are welcome to apply for a promotion based on self declared experience. Personally, I would wait until I finished a full Newbie drive. Levels are different in different clubs, as are the ways we drive. Experience in some skills might be gained, but ways of working may not. In the end, it's your choice. @Belal Aldaour - don't run before you can walk. The FJ is a great car that can give drivers great confidence before they have really learned the basics. Yes, and absolute newbie can be frustrating, because some drivers might not have your confidence or your car, but you need to get all the skills in your hands before you think about faster or more extreme, because without them, at the moment you need them, you'll be unpleasantly surprised. @takeshi sobue - We need next time you are out to make sure that the communications are crisper and clearer. That will avoid situations like we had where you cleared a crest far too fast. I think you have all the skills we need in a driver from what I saw, but that comms issue is critical. @Marcin Wronowski - unexpected though it was to have you turn up, I am glad we made the decision, and were able to add you in the convoy. You have exactly the right type of attitude to this hobby that will let you enjoy every experience for what it is and make the most of it. You showed good control and capability. @Shahid Mehmood - You were also a bit of a surprise package (did not know you were joining) and having an audience the whole drive was probably also a little disconcerting, but you handled the beast with great care and composition. The Y62 is a great vehicle for this hobby and we have a number of experienced drivers with them in the club. There are a number of things to look out for in terms of protecting the vehicle the more you do. You have all now completed your Absolute Newbie and your next drive will be a Newbie drive. If you sign up for WhatsApp notifications, on Sunday morning, there will be a list of drives that will be posted for the following week. Every Sunday at 7pm these drives open up and you can sign in to any drive appropriate for your Carnity rank. For the first time, I feel the joy of adventure in the desert in this way, with a beautiful morning🌞 and wonderful weather. We started the journey with what seems to be an ordinary adventure, to turn later into a wonderful thrill of speed and sliding on the sand dunes, with his words @Islam Soliman on the radio to push the car to the maximum. Atypical and completely new driving style, thank you and I will try to join any of your rides in the future, @Lawrence_Chehimi was and still is a great source of support with his valuable advice, thank you. thank you @Veedooshee for the support, @Sudhanva Sonawane your driving and the stability level of your car was impressive, I look forward to the adventure with you in the future, Thank you everyone for the good company on this tour and we hope to meet on future tours.

Thank you @Luca Palanca Falsini & @Shaaz Sha for a wonderful drive. There is not even 1 bowl in Badayer we have not visited today. Even though it was @Shaaz Sha's 1st drive as a lead it was wonderful. No doubts at all for him where he was going. He was driving as if he knew the place thoroughly. It was action packed from the word go. The drive started with @Chinthaka Ruwan's XTERRA sensing it was about to be subjected to extreme torture, gave up and refused to start up. He hopped on to the adventure with @Russ in his F 150. Good for @Chinthaka Ruwan as at least he could witness all the adventure. My X also couldn't cope up with the extreme climbs sometimes and had to be really persuaded with a hard whip to gallop away. @Shaaz Sha guided us safely through extreme traffic in the dunes amid some crazy drivers coming our way with help from @Russ who was sweeping. Everybody drove very well through the entire drive as was expected from an IM convoy. Almost 3/4th into the drive @Abu Muhammad's car got tired of climbing and climbing and became hot with anger and refused to go further. @Abu Muhammad finally gave in to his car's wishes and sadly took him home with the help of @Luca Palanca Falsini & @JeromeFJ guiding him. Abu tried his best to persuade his car to stay but the car wished otherwise. See you soon Abu. After Abu's exit it was my X which refused to go further. After one of the endless high speed crisscrosses my X just stopped running. Looks like something went wrong with the throttle body assembly and is now under repair thanks to the extreme pulls by @Russ to take him to the exit where a recovery was waiting for us to cart him to his garage. Russ is the man and F 150 is the car. What power that car has to pull my almost dead car all the way to the exit. Wish I could buy 1 of that car soon. @Abu Muhammad as the CF and @Russ as the sweep did an extremely well support role right from we started the drive. As I mentioned before everybody performed almost well to what @Shaaz Sha had in his plans to take us to every dune in Badayer. @Javier Lucero, @JeromeFJ, @Alain Canivet-Abikhalil, @Amir Amiri , @Ranjan Das & @Rawad see you all soon to drive another day. It was my honor and pleasure to be in the company of such exemplary drivers and their capable machines.

Sure but all you need to is clear the fault codes so the car can be driven to safety/ your nearest garage. You do not necessarily have to take the garage to the desert.

Its one of the best areas to truly test a driver's car power as well as his/her ability to stay in focus mode from the entry moment until the exit @Shaaz Shayour first lead wasnt an easy task as our drive was a tough one with 3 cars down, and many kamikaze convoys cutting our ways in all dangerous ways possible. You sir handled it all as a pro. For many more to come 👍👍 It was a shame that @Chinthaka Ruwan had trouble starting his car at the entry point, but i guess it was better than facing it in the middle of the trip just like what happened with @Thomas Varghese . Wish you both speedy and non-expensive recoveries Its worth mentioning how amazing the support team was today with @Abu Muhammad as a CF before his car faced some trouble towards the end of the drive, and then @Ranjan Dassmoothly filling his shoes . And a big congrats for @Russ who joined the support team a couple of days back. You acted as if you've been sweeping since day one bro. By the way even after clearing the code the car didn't rev up until the throttle body relearning process was done. I'm not an expert on OBD2 readers.

Thank you @Chinthaka Ruwan. My car is ready now. It seems the throttle body motor went haywire with all the hard acceleration. After getting it reprogrammed the car is okay now. Good that it stopped before I created an accident as the whole brake fluid container was filled up with sand after the cap flew away mysteriously. Cleaned the master cylinder, all the brake lines, and the calipers, flushed it and refilled it with brake fluid. You should be able to get a 2nd hand starter motor for less than 200 AED from Sharjah BMW road. I replaced mine last week along with an alternator and the driver side power assisted window motor - all for 500 AED. If any assistance required call me on 0552690503. The starter motor doesn't die a sudden death. The symptoms would have been there since some time. Hope the recovery I arranged for you didn't take long to reach you.
