  1. @Alex Sidorov if you're worried about the trim of your bumper, your paint job or your 20 inch rims, this is either not the right sport for you or you need a desert toy. The desert is an uncertain terrain and like @Brette pointed out the slightest of mistakes can damage your vehicle. Even @Lorenzo changed his rims and tires from 20 inch to 18 inch on his Nissan Patrol Y62. Deflating 20 inch rims exposes more danger to the rims in case of the slightest of bumps. Interested to know which way you're going to go.

Please find your names and convoy numbering above. When you arrive tomorrow morning, you can start deflating your tires to 15psi if you have normal/highway tires, and 12psi in case you have off-road tires.

Please arrive on time 6:30 AM, earlier is even better so we can help you out with deflation if needed.

We will be using Carnity Channel 3: 446.05625 Mhz.

Seniors on the drive are myself, @Ashy @Shaaz Sha and @N@ved who will be sweeping the convoy and we will all help you out in case of refusals, stucks, which is all part of the game (and fun) :)

After deflating we will do a briefing to emphasize on the aspects of off-roading and the teamwork involved when becoming part of our off-road community. Since the number of cases has gone alarmingly high, I would recommend only drivers to be out for the briefing with social distancing rules.

In case of emergencies, you can contact me on 050 674 9099

    See you tomorrow !

  3. @GauravSoni as a special case I have added you to my drive, please confirm you will be able to make it.

@Shaaz Sha thank you for volunteering yourself to help, I will definitely need your help on this drive.

I will be announcing the convoy position and radio channel we will be using on this drive later this afternoon. Anyone who is unable to make it please sign out of this drive and notify me accordingly.

  4. @Ahab Shamaa thank goodness you are back, America went bonkers with you there.

@Thomas Varghese I really appreciate your impatience to discover and learn at the new level. But everything matures and gets better with time. Like @Ale Vallecchi put it so nicely every driver and every car has it's own story to tell, take your time to write your story as you go, you will not get this time again.

  5. @N@ved very well noticed and I love this about you. Your attention to every details. Tire pressure normally goes up after about 30 - 45 minutes of off-roading, any time you feel the car is being more stubborn, or having difficulty negotiating dunes which you have done earlier with ease, check your tire pressure. This Friday was cold and yet when we reached Faya my tire pressure was at 14 PSI instead of 11 PSI. Could the car flip if it has improper tire pressure, rarely seen that happen as the car would get stuck before it has the chance to accumulate all this sand on one side, but just because I have not seen the tire pressure as a culprit so far I would blame it on the driver's response to the situation. When off-road you should switch off all distractions and concentrate on the path ahead, any distraction or ego can be damaging both to you and your vehicle.

  6. @Thomas Varghese I agree with @Francois Germishuys, it should be counted as one drive. These kind of full day drives are only possible during the winter months as it is more comfortable in the afternoon as compared to the summer months. Another point to have such drives is to prepare drivers for a longer span of attention. With shorter drives we have noticed team members getting tired and loose concentration during the last part of the drive. But if you have prepared your mid for a longer day and have enough rest on the previous night it should help you improve your concentration on longer journey times.
