thanks @Frederic - is there merit in considering any different type of transmission oil which is better able to handle higher temperatures ? Or is the additional fan the only solution ?

    Hi @asifk

I use tiptronic from Fewbie+ onwards on all my drive, i drive mostly on 2nd gear and for difficult climb and gaining some momentum where ever required shift to 1st gear. And additional to that i have fixed a  push in fan and changed my engine oil to Mobil 1. I never had heating issue after this, some time when we stuck the temp will rise up little bit, but never worry just switch off the AC and drive a little bit further and it will come back to normal condition. Usually the temperature will increase when u use AC and the car is not moving, that will some what solve my fixing the additional push in Fan.

@Srikumar @Frederic @Wrangeld @Shiju Manuel do you have an opinion on the bashplate design below? Shopping around with other club members we have noticed most designs finish under the front bumper line whereas this one comes up over the front of the grill? Would this potentially negatively impact the nose in the likely (in my case) event of nosediving off a dune onto it?

Hi @Lisa Pemberton i agree with what @Gaurav mentioned. my advice will be instead of making the plate bend to cover the from area, you can have it little bit widen (as per the below drawing) will be more useful when hitting on the dune or what ever bushes in the off-roading. I recommend to use maximum 8mm plate only, 10mm plate would be very heavy and its dangerous when its hit on the ground. And its recommend to use original stock skid plate same bolt hole to fix the new plate rather than making so many holes underneath to fix the new plate. And at the end its all about your choice and preferences what kind of modification you would like to do it on your car.

@Shiju Manuel seems you have surprised many guys with your Pajero :) Congrats buddy you always kept a positive spirit, listened to the instructions, and i am sure you will keep moving forward quickly !

Hi @Frederic its all with the support and professional off-road  training by Carnity Marshals. On last drive after coming down from super bowl i come to know that it was super bowl because it was my first time driving in super bowl and iftar bowl. Really got surprised how the pajero made it all most at top even through in first gear and really appreciate@Srikumar for the perfect route which makes every one easy.

  5. Hi @Lisa Pemberton  the issue of tire touching on the bumper will solve by cutting the lower part of bumper as per marked by @Srikumar and @Frederic, but its better to be done in any garage because at the back side there are some bolts which need to be removed to do this job, cutting will be very simply done with knife but after that at the back side of the bumper there is plastic flap which need to be securely fit it to the bumper.

The skid plate i have done at Al Jazeera, Sharjah, 8MM plate with powder coating and fixing total cost 1090 Dhs. It will be less if you don't want powder coating.

    pcs for reference.

This tug dislodged the plate I had fitted to the rear bumper (with the help of @Shiju Manuel) the night before so it looks like a return visit to the garage is in order! Pictured below are my Before-After and After-After pics.

@Lisa Pemberton you can visit the garage back and inform them to fix the plate with bolt at the both sides. There has been no issue with my plate until now. Definitely they will make some solution to fix them properly without coming out.
