Sure but all you need to is clear the fault codes so the car can be driven to safety/ your nearest garage. You do not necessarily have to take the garage to the desert.

Hi Thomas,
Thanks for sharing. I had a similar issue a few weeks back and got myself an OBD 2 reader that’s always with me to avoid getting stranded.

@Islam Solimangood morning, I have removed my name from this trip. We have just now arrived home from the Thursday night Fewbie drive in Abu Dhabi.(01:42 am) I will not be in a good state to travel to Sharjah and still be fresh for the drive.
Thanks for your understanding.

@Xavier Treasurer Apologies for the confusion - you are back in this drive if you still want to join. Based on feedback from the leads on Abu Dhabi drives, you will be more than capable of adapting to a Dubai Fewbie Plus.
Please confirm this is OK.
@Wrangeldyes I can confirm that I will join this drive. Thank you.

@Xavier Treasurer some remaining spots became available so if you are interested in shifting to the Fewbie convoy please let me know so i can put you in. In that case kindly inform the Newbie convoy lead on the drive topic.
@SureshVNair can you please confirm you will attend the LIWA drive ?
@Frederic thanks, but my situation changed. I will be taking my 12 year old son along. I have therefore decided to remain in the newbie drive. Please allocate the position to another willing member and remove my name from the Fewbie RSVP.

Looks like the signup went pretty fast !
A few topics that I wanted to highlight to all of you:
1) You need to make sure that your car is 100% in technical fit condition: recovering a broken vehicle in Liwa is an absolute enormous task which will take hours and in some cases we might have to just leave it behind. Please be aware of the long journey and the extreme stress your vehicle will undergo in this terrain. Get your vehicle FULLY inspected before joining this adventure. Make sure fluids, battery, spare wheel, and brakes are in optimal condition. If your vehicle already shows signs of slight overheating from regular Fewbie drives please do not join this drive.
2) We will be driving in dunes which are more than 200m high and this also involves coming down steep slopes. If you are currently Fewbie and struggle with fear of heights in Pink Rock or Fossil Rock, I would advise to think this through. Safety is our main focus but nevertheless we need people to stay calm and listen calmly to instructions as there is only little margin for human errors.
3) More than anything, you need to be realistic in what your vehicle can do and choose the number of passengers wisely. If we see an underpowered vehicle with 4 adult persons inside and stuffed with camping gear, we will not allow you to join. This terrain will require a lot from your vehicle, and traveling light with minimum passengers will make sure your underpowered vehicle can survive this.
@Frederic please add me to the rsvp, if a space becomes available in Fewbie level?

I am happy that we are now able to have arranged a drive in Abu Dhabi. Now I do not have to wake up at Crack of dawn to get ready.

@Gaurav There are road closures from Abu Dhabi, to Al Quadra. An alternate route will surely cause me to arrive late. So it seems I have to turnaround & will be sitting this one out.
