  1. Thank you for a great drive and detailed report @M.Seidam. Your energy and willingness to swap the convoy around taking into account everyone's prior experience was really helpful. It showed as we only had one crest requiring shovels and the rest of the morning was very smooth with everyone following the tracks closely. It made the sweeping role in the second half very straightforward!

I had a break from the drives but happy to restart again in the FJC and today was my first drive in the car. It handles very differently compared to the Land Cruiser but at least I feel more secure in tackling the dunes without having difficult discussions with the wife about what bits of trim I left in the desert!

So it was great to see familiar faces after the break @Alfred Alinazar @Zixuan Huang - Charlie @topgear and of course to meet the rest of the drivers today.

There is always new things to learn on each drive and looking forward to many more.

Pics are uploaded in the gallery 😀

  2. Thanks @Brette for the drive, especially the second half approaching Big Red when you raised the game and challenged the convoy on the soft sand. The three consecutive pop outs at the same spot (with the exit point well in sight!) is unprecedented but as mentioned, was a great experience to see how different pop outs can be tackled. Thanks to you and @Looper and all others for helping with these!

I'll try and get the footage from the dashcam to see how this occurred, and if successful will post back the clip here.

  3. Thank you @M.Seidam for leading a super drive this morning and for the comprehensive trip report. The drive today had everything, including some technical sections to introduce us all of what to expect in this hobby! Thanks also for the tutorials to demonstrate the theory. The small breaks were very welcome.

It was a pleasure to be your sweep but honestly there was not much to do as everyone drove really well and your advance warnings of pockets and steps meant we followed the tracks closely and maintained momentum in the tricky soft sand areas.

It was great to meet everyone especially @Tbone@JeromeFJ after some time.

Have a fab week ahead all - and some action pics in the Gallery now uploaded. Hope I managed to get you all!

  4. Ciao @PaoloMaraziti thank you for taking the time, that's a super video capturing the fun afternoon yesterday! 👍

Great route from the Lisali camel tracks ending up at the Qudra exit - thanks to @Anish S for planning and leading. We only had very few refusals and each were brilliantly self recovered.  No stucks meant no shovels and tugs required. As a result we enjoyed a few well timed breaks but otherwise made good progress meaning we reached our exit point on time just as the sun was setting. @Danish Mohammadand @MUHAMMAD Kashif RAZZAQ had a relaxing drive I suspect !😃Finally thanks to @Zixuan Huang - Charlie for a solid second lead and rerouting  where necessary.

  5. Hi @Enrico Biscarofor your first Fewbie drive I you did really well. 😃 I had a good view of you in my mirrors and even in the tricky areas you tackled them well!  You communication on the radio is excellent. I mentioned at one of the drive breaks and your post drive report just reinforces that 👍.  You have all the correct enhancements on your Pajero to take this hobby to the next level and looking forward to more drives! Hope the cooling issue is an easy fix and there are plenty of Pajero owners here who can offer ideas if needed.

@Niki@Abdul Rafay-Slovely post drive reports! Thanks!

  6. Great sunrise drive from 2nd December cafe ending up at Big Red. Nice tight group and the entire morning was smooth. We had a fair share of climbs, nice elevation changes and criss crossing on some tech dunes. Once the drive racheted up towards the end we had a couple of refusals, a crest, a few stucks and a pop out. Most of the refusals were nicely self recovered under great instructions from @Foxtrot Oscarand @Niki. Thanks also to @Janarthan for leading a superb drive 😀

Fantastic to meet everyone as usual!

  7. The later start certainly helped @Janarthan! Thanks again for leading a great drive on the fine sands of Nazwa and Badayer. As @Sunil Mathew mentioned the first part was up and down technical dunes which allowed me to experiment with keeping my revs low to really benefit from momentum and to play with gearing. Great support from @Zixuan Huang - Charlie as CF and @Hisham Masaad in sweep - I felt safe that I wasnt going to be left behind!

The temperature was on our side too and it was nice to deflate and drive the first part without breaking out into a sweat.

I uploaded some pics in the Gallery. Have a super week all!

  8. Hi everyone - really enjoyable drive today at Bab Al Shams area. It was a night, dawn and sunrise drive all in one! I thought it was an area where Absolute Newbies can get a taste of desert driving but there was certainly a fair mix of side sloping, ridge riding and cris crossing for all of us to practice. Very interesting to observe as we had a majority of LWB cars today. Good to bump into another Carnity AN group led by @Ale Vallecchi too!

Thank you @Islam Soliman for a very detailed briefing, supportive approach, an on time start (and on time finish too!). The explanations on why a particular stuck occurred was particularly helpful as we develop our offroad journey/hobby.

@Hardik Mody hope your X is fine and some tips on the forum to keep the X running cooler will get you back on the sand asap.

Thanks also to @Zixuan Huang - Charlie for a solid second lead and @Jeepie for keeping the pack together and taking some great snaps!

@Tareck great video and photos my friend! Thanks!

  9. Thanks @Tbone for leading a flawless drive this morning and to @Janarthan for the support in sweep! It was a new experience to climb Pink Rock at daybreak! The sands have a beautiful red hue but is deceptively soft at places. Throw in elevation climbs and drops means a pretty exhilarating morning! Thanks for regularly checking on the drive pace and difficulty. It demanded full concentration and good momentum throughout. But as we are an abbreviated convoy we could keep a tight knit and cover some good ground, finishing at Big Red.

We saw one or two other convoys but otherwise we had the playground to ourselves!

Special mention to @JamesThorn who performed superbly for a first fewbie drive. It was definitely one of the more challenging fewbie drives so every reason to be chuffed!

A couple of pics in the gallery. Sorry I totally messed up my camera settings so I have just seen some shots are a bit blurry...😅
