  1. Thank you @Brette for this morning drive, it was my first newbie drive after several fewbie ones, and still I learned several tricks from you specially as it was my first time as 2nd lead. @Tbone thank you for the support during this trip.

Some photos are added to the gallery in addition to these videos captured from the top of Pink Rock.

@Islam SolimanIt was a little bit tough drive as my first fewbie drive,my hands are sweaty all the time. but i guess i finally found the right feeling of the throttle control. Thank you for the great lead.

@TT_Dubai @Jeepie @TareckThanks for the photos, i was knew i can get some beautiful photos everytime when drive with you.

@Daniel Yang i was driving behind you today, and it was joyfull seeing another Patrol Y62 in action, see how the car navigates through the sand. I must say you were driving great for a first fewbie drive. See you next time.

    Trip Report

Everyone loves a challenge and this goes for trip leads as well. Area 53 is a challenging terrain for the best offroader and to take Fewbies there was a challenge I most definitely was looking forward the whole week.

Everyone met on time, and as we are at the end of July the sun does rise closer to 5:40 AM. So after a little bit of waiting and briefing we headed out to explore Area 53.

We entered through some of the smaller dunes to reach the base of the pyramids and everyone managed quite well. As we attempted the first staircase climb we did have a couple of refusals which was expected. A bit of rerouting and circling and the entire convoy started moving again.

Being a Fewbie convoy, I tried going up to about 70% height on the pyramid dunes, as the higher you go, the exit at the top of the dunes can get even more challenging. Since we couldn't exit from the top of the pyramid dunes we had to descend and started going around it and had to go through some more closely spaced dunes. A popout and a couple of refusals, but nothing major and everyone managed to get through that area quite well.

As it was getting warmer we decided to take a more flatter route towards Super Bowl and IFB. I would have loved for the Fewbie convoy to have a go at Super Bowl, but unfortunately there were a couple of other convoys in that area driving at high speeds and hence we decided to move towards Iftar Bowl. Once we reached IFB the climb was so enticing that no one could stop with a single one. Everyone made more than a couple of attempts and it was great to see everyone roar all the way to the top.

Big congratulatation to the entire group of Fewbies @Zixuan Huang - Charlie @Aisha S @Anoop Nair @Sunil Mathew @Charbel @Abdul Rafay-S @Tareck @Rjducos @Adhir Saxena for being brave enough to drive through Area 53. That is seriously a big achievement. And as you grow in confidence and driving skills, you will learn to love this area even more.

Finally a huge shot out to @Hisham Masaad@Nivin for watching over the entire convoy and continuously assisting shen needed. Your wonderful support permitted me to be  a bit more adventurous at times and make the drive challenging for the entire convoy.

See you all soon on the sand.

@Srikumar this was my first drive with you and I definitely enjoyed it! as you said this area is challenging for fewbies but we all managed well. looking for new drives with you!

And thanks to @Hisham Masaad and @Nivin, it's always reassuring when driving with you guys

Thanks @Wrangeld for the innovative drive...i was contemplating throughout the week about how you are going to go about this drive (as seems to be case with most friends here on forum). Must share that i am really amazed how you managed to find the track through which actually one could drive through without exceeding 2500 rpm... Despite being at end of the convoy facing completely churned up sand i to the major part of drive was in the planned range. And mostly where I exceeded i knew that i missed the most suitable line... thanks a lot for the experience. Idea of 2wd was really next level.

Apart from initial series of refusals and stucks mostly convoy did well. We surely had our share of crests however was expected while everyone trying to limit the revs.

@Tareck and @Christopher Assal you both were awesome today made my life as sweep super easy. Apart from one crest at the end both of you managed your Patrols super nicely through the churned up sand. Tareck i believe you must have realized (re-realized) today that your vehicle has tremendous power. At certain places i felt you could have sailed through with less revs as well. Again you were really good, just that today's theme was specific so felt at certain areas that you were putting in more gas then required..All an all a great outing for both of you.

In general the whole convoy did well. For rest of the drivers i am sure other Seniors can comment better as from sweep couldn't have done a fair assessment of all.

    thanks again.

Thanks @varunmehndiratta for the support today, i totally agree with you I was putting some more power as at 2500rpm it wasn't working well for the car at some points always sliding on the sides maybe because it's heavy.

Thank you @Wrangeld for today's drive it was a new and different experience

Hope everyone enjoyed our drive today and possibly improved their driving a bit (i know i did). We started our drive at 5:15am and exited at 9:30am. Got caught in some technical dunes on the way out, and opted to exit earlier than planned so we can stick to our planned finish time. In total we covered 72kms at an average moving speed of 20 km/h, decent speed for a FB drive. Everyone did very well i must say. @Tareck had his first pop-out, which i hope was good learning. @Russ kindly accepted to run as Center Forward, which i believe he enjoyed. And a big thanks to @Jeepieand @Nabil Bishara for their support.

Hope to see all you of you again in the sand soon. @Ben84@darren thompson @Zixuan Huang@Hardik Mody@Sunil Mathew@Warren Flay

Every drive brings new experiences, and with my 1st pop-out I never imagined it could be resolved in a matter of minutes with the team effort! thank you @marks @Jeepie @Nabil Bishara @Russ and everyone who supported, it was a great experience
