I wonder if that black xtera which Brock down have managed to tow the car to the city? If you guys see this post please let us know if you were fine share your further experience. Feeling sorry for them but with great team they took them to the safe zone. 😊

Hi @Muhammad Qasim to reassure you, I asked Jose to let me know when he was collected and he confirmed that the recovery arrived around 9am.

Thanks for showing such concern for another driver.

  2. Post Drive Report

Lehbab is challenging for newbies, it requires a lot of focus and concentration throughout - there's little relief because the sand is so deceptively soft that even when you think you are safe, you are not.

Our route today took us South Westward from Lehbab through the soft swooping dunes that take us to the large open sabkhas and through a difficult technical patch and over the high pressure gas line. From there we headed more or less directly toward Lisaili slaughter house. In between a failed car, some rope pulls, self recoveries and some wonderful scenery and driving.

Massive thanks to @Alex Raptor, stalwart and superb support throughout, @Jeepie digging far too much for a passenger and @Adam James in the centre. Also, not forgetting a wonderful 2nd lead from @Imteeaz Goolamhossen

@Sudhanva Sonawane you introduced yourself as having the least powerful car. I did not notice, you drove fantastically well. Enjoy the fewbie drives you'll undoubtedly be on shortly.

@BHANU PRAKASH VISHWANATH nice to see how you handle the Pajero on a difficult drive and at the back of the convoy.

@Dinesh Kumar A I like your confidence (in measures and at the right time) but please make sure you don't oversteer on descents

@Marcin Wronowski another star in a reasonably priced car. Glad to see that having passengers did not distract you from a good drive without too many issues

@Thomas Bushell great upgrades and great to see the immediate development in your driving second time out. MOre delighted than anything to see you really are hooked!

@Muhammad Qasim Good drive today and well controlled. Please sort out the flag and the rembering to make sure you see the person behind you as well as the person in front.

@Harshad Ashraf You handle the big beast well. Hope that the bumper is repairable.

@Jose Thomas late to sign in and sadly first to sign out. Thanks for the confirmation that you were picked up and rescued.

Looking forward to seeing you all again soon.

  4. Dear Lehbab Adventurers

    And waitlisted

    @Imteeaz Goolamhossen @Belal Aldaour @Shahid Mehmood @Adnan Halepota

Thanks for singing up. Myself and @Alex Raptor look forward to your company on Friday morning.

What to expect? Difficult, soft sand and technical dunes that require confidence, composure and calculated driving to get through the difficult moments.

Ideally we will complete the drive in Lisiali after making out way through the route over the high pressure gas line. It's not going to be an easy simple newbie - if that's what you wanted, sign out now and allow someone on the wait list to have your place. But if you stasy, it will improve your drive skills.

See you soon in the sand.

@Wrangeld Thankyou for taking on this drive on such short notice as it would have been a loss for us all to have missed this wonderful morning!  @Lorenzo Candelpergher thank you for having this track booked and I cannot wait to join you leading here (yet another reason to visit AD)!

Super support from @JeromeFJ @Dodi Syahdar.  An ideal welcome to the club for @Ali Shah  @Imran Kashif @eric abordo who all did great (communication, discipline, patience and trust)

@Adnan Halepota @Gertjan @Mohseen Suliman made light work at the back and appreciate your willingness to support throughout!

Final thanks (again) to @Wrangeld especially for the moment we got to all step out and learn together.  I’ve captured Dodi in prayer (or ready to fall on his sword) as Gertjan got to use the swb Prado in place of his Raptor!

  7. Post Drive Report

I will admit to have been approaching today's drive with a little trepidation. In common with all Marshals and leads, I like to plan my drives so that I have an idea of where we are going, what to expect and I like to understand if there is some special element I can add to the drive to make it especially engaging.

Stepping in for another Marshal is a responsibility to not only match the expectations of the drivers that chose that drive/marshal combination but also to drive confidently when the terrain is not well known.

My fears and concerns all melted away as soon as I saw the beautiful landscapes before me. Yes, it was soft (very soft) in places but the swooping dunes and bowls and ridges with amazing slip faces waiting for our descent  more than compensated.

Add to that incredible support from @JeromeFJ, @Niki and @Dodi Syahdar we had a great morning. Three absolute newbies, got into the sort of trouble we would expect from them. @Ali Shah @eric abordo and @Imran Kashif you did well. You might have felt that you were the only people getting delayed - well, what do you expect. Two hours before, you'd never been out in the sand.

Our other drivers - @Gertjan thanks for helping with the rope work, @Mohseen Suliman was great to see you again. Niki saw to all your recoveries, @Adnan Halepota I think your drive was pretty flawless

Looking forward to seeing you all in the sand soon

  8. Dear Desert Wanderers and Adventurers,

As you probably saw we had to make some changes in the leads this weekend. I will be discovering AL Fayah with you instead of @Lorenzo Candelpergher

Please find below the proposed convoy numbering

    image.png.ec857c284c299a7a513ff5d9fe883517.png

I plan on using Carnity radio channel 3. Please make sure your radios are tuned.

The drive does not end near a gas station so please make sure you have your compressor on board. It's around a 10km drive to the nearest ADNOC.

See you soon in the sand.
