  1. @Shaaz Sha your drives never fail to challenge and, at the same time, amaze me and today’s was no different. Wonderful route selection and good pace throughout the drive.

    thank you Mayank @munkybizness for the support. @Fabien Monleau, @Mohamad Anwer, @Charbel, @Gilbert Khalil, @Anoop Nair, @Waqas Parvez and @Amir Amiri - it was great meeting and driving with you guys today.

    Hi Group Members,

    I do have a negative mindset with regard to buying  LR 4 (2010) based on what I have read here and when googled on it’s realibility.

    Last week I saw and drove a LR4 2010 6 cyl with 220000 kms. The car is fully maintained at agency and is being sold by second owner of 3 years.

    I liked the car. The stearing looked little heavy when compared to my current Jeep GC overland 2011 but overall I kind of liked the looks and the drive.

    Tomorrow I am taking the car for a auto testing center for a full physical and computerized checkup and will make a final call.

    I will be happy if I can use this car for 3 to 5 years without major expense. Will be not be using this for off road as I want to make my existing JGC as main off road car (This discussion for another time).

    Two issues that has come to light with LR4 as disclosed by the seller is (he discovered during recent inspections) is that the front bonnet is repainted by first owner (no record of it) and steering oil leak.

    Assuming that no major issues are discovered in tomorrow’s test, what will be your advise based on your experience?

    I am happy with the price (approx 27K). May negotiate it further. The seller has brought down the price during last one week from high 30s. I have so far not negotiated the price

    My main concern is not to get cheated or get a car which has some major flaw or has some major reliability issue.

    Thank you in advance.

    One more thing I am interested is to know if some of you have a good/Positive experience with LR4?

    I absolutely loved the LR4, the drive and ride qualities are simply superb, not to mention road presence. owned one - 2015 model and was so much in love with it that I swapped it for LR Discovery in 2019 which i eventually swapped it for Jeep 😎
    Even with all the warranties and maintenance contracts, LR is pricy - i can't imagine owning one without them.

    and if you are planning it to be also your ride to the deserts you will be disappointed after newbie level - LR4 is not for the sand (the reason I have a Jeep now!)

  3. Loved every minute of the drive - especially when minutes were the only thing restricted which made it all the more fun - unrestricted and unlimited! The unique option of offering us 4 hour dash made up much of what i had missed of earlier episodes due to work commitment and would like to join the chorus in admiring the conception and conduct of the drive. Thanks @Ale Vallecchi

    @Zixuan Huang - Charlie, @varunmehndiratta, @Alexanderrr and @munkybizness thanks for all the support.

    @Anoop Nair, @Prakash Anoop, @Vaibhav, @Daniel Rodas, @Rob S, @topgear and @Ashok chaturvedi - thanks guys for the company, was a pleasure driving with you all.

    Dear Desertnauts.

    I thank you all for the enthusiastic participation to Rush Hour 4. While looking at the waiting list I have had an idea that I would like to present to all drivers, the conformed signed up ones, and the waitlisted. If all, or most, agree, I will proceed as below:

    I will extend the drive to 10 cars, hence confirming the following CONVOY 1:

    @Zixuan Huang - Charlie, @Vaibhav, @Daniel Rodas, @varunmehndiratta, @Prakash Anoop, @topgear, @Rob S, @Alexanderrr PLUS @KAMALIO and @Chinthaka Ruwan

    I will open up the drive to the next 10 waitlisted drivers, hence creating a new CONVOY 2:

    @Naim Aoun, @Ashok chaturvedi, @munkybizness, @Simon Dawood, @Shaker, @ASAD., @Waqas Parvez, @Pacific, @Anoop Nair and @Ranjan Das

    Convoy 1 will:

    1. meet up at Qudra's Last Exit at 2:00 PM, and will "rush" to reach Ghantoot's exit point
    2. start the drive exactly at 2:30 PM
    3. plan to end the drive at 4:30 PM sharp
    4. in case the full distance between Qudra and Ghantoot has not been covered, there is a track on a sabkha available for a quick exit to Ghantoot

    Convoy 2 will:

    1. meet up at Ghantoot starting point at 4:30 PM, corresponding the Convoy 1's exit, and will "rush back" to Qudra's Last Exit
    2. start the drive exactly at 5:00 PM
    3. plan to end the drive at 7:00 PM
    4. also, if the drive will not have reached Qudra's Last Exit, we'll take the closest exit on Bab al Shams Road

    This will allow 2 convoys to drive within the "Rush Hour" format, on the Qudra to Ghantoot route and vice versa, with only me commuting back and forth. It will be a relay of sorts, with the goal of accommodating all drivers into this exciting format.

    I would like to ask each of you, both confirmed and waitlisted drivers, to please acknowledge the above idea, and confirm your presence in the allocated convoy. I will proceed to open up the drive to all those who agree with the above format, hence confirming the convoys above (or part of them, if not all agree).

    Thanks a lot for your prompt consideration and reply. Have a great Sunday.

    Thanks @Ale Vallecchi for providing the option. I’m in.
