Popular Post Frederic
Good morning Team ! Thanks for signing up for this drive, some of you have done this terrain already before, while for other it will be the first time. What to expect ? This is not your typical dunebashing and sidesloping terrain, as it varies from lushy green terrain into farmtracks, and includes some nice technical terrain to test all your skills. We will exit in Falaj Al Mualla, which has the famous watch towers, and is officially in Umm al Quwain, so in fact we will be driving in 2 Emirates Bring your camera and try to enjoy the terrain, as we expect to see goats, donkeys, camels, and lots of vegetation. Consider this more to be a kind of overlanding exploration. I am sure we will have fun and i particularly like the area because there are no other offroaders in sight. As for the convoy list: @Anoop Nair will be on his 51st drive, which i can only applaud as he has come very far and i know i can rely on him 100% to be my second lead. In the center, we will have @Davie Chase who has been recently promoted to support team, and will be eager to demonstrate his magnificent shoveling skills 😁 Towards the back we have really experienced members, and it's great to see @Probir Mukherjee back with us in Carnity. @topgear, and most-probably his super-co-pilot that will be with him will be sweeping our convoy. We will be using Channel 1: 446.00625 Mhz. I hope to see you all tomorrow at 4PM sharp, there will be a small part of the drive in dark, which changes the whole perspective on driving in the sand. There is no need for extra night lights on your 4x4, but if you have them be ready to test them 10 "Go as far as you can see; once you get there, you'll be able to see further." Davie Chase
@Frederic thanks for a fantastic afternoon drive, it had some beautiful back drops, wildlife and just in all in very scenic. we had some long flowing dunes, some challenging terrain going from hard to extremely soft. and some sharp drop offs. this was my first venture into driving at night and this did change the perspective of the dunes. Terrain is definitely more difficult to read and depth perception and depth of field changes. I really enjoyed getting my first glimpse of these perspectives. @Anoop Nair you did a sterling job at S/L moving us left and right onto a path that made the drive smoother. @topgear appreciate the great job you did at the back sweeping the convoy and supporting the refusals at the back. @Jad Moussalli @Stan Hassett @Shama Zamora @Yerem Davtyan @george charbel @JERINE_B @Bhaskar @Nathan @Paul Zeitoun @Probir Mukherjee you guys drove extremely well in some challenging conditions, especially as mother nature turned the lights off on us. it was a pleasure to drive with old friends and meet and drive with some new ones. We had a few stucks and refusals but that is all part and parcel of the learning journey that we are all on. i learnt a great deal from the drive and especially from Freddies leadership and our venture into the darkness. thank you all for your patience as we tried to recover you and hopefully we al learnt together. Hope to see you all in the sand again soon. 2

Nathan
As everyone has said, it was a fantastic drive. The combination of scenic route and a little bit of night driving really added a nice twist. It just goes to show how the desert becomes a different animal after dark! Thanks @Frederic for leading such a great route and @Davie Chase and @topgear for the support. 3
