Please give me a day more to really confirm. After my 2nd dose of vaccination last week all my strength and concentration is at stake. Don't know why. Its really hard for me to move or concentrate. Most of the time feel sleepy and tired. Maybe stressed out and nothing to do with vaccination. But overall I feel something has gone wrong. That's why I really didn't commit for a drive last week.

    Get well soon!!

    Dear Desert Wanderers,

Thanks to the generous availability of @Islam Soliman we are considering the possibility, given the long waitlist, to split the drive in two convoys.

I would appreciate if all those who requested to be waitlisted could confirm their interest.

@GauravSoni, @Shaaz Sha, @Thomas Varghese, @Ahab Shamaa, let me pls know. @M.SeidamI'll consider your last message as a confirmed no.

    Thanks

@Islam Soliman to the rescue!!! Let’s go!!!!

  3. Also would be nice to note. Be careful of fire ants, centipedes, spiders specifically the camel spider (their venom doesn’t do anything to us but will leave a nasty infection)

I found a website which actually has which explains the wilderness of the UAE (plants, animals and insects. The mentioned instructs can be found there and explained in more detail)

    https://www.ddcr.org/en/index.aspx

@Gregory I think your son would enjoy reading on this website.

  4. @Foxtrot Oscar Great drive, I always do enjoy large swooping dunes. I had fun being sweep as always. As a note to everyone please call in if you have a refusal/stuck even if it will take a couple of minutes to solve let the lead and the support team know what is going on so there isn't any confusion as to what is happening. Other than that great drive everyone and good job! Great job @Arman and @Alexander Alcala

We did from start (meeting point) to end (inflating point)

    46.08Km

Moving time was 3 hours and 7 minutes

Stopped time was 1 hour and 44 minutes.

The total drive was 4 hours and 52 minutes.

This helped me a lot! it actually make sense :)

On clarification though: when you say that you go on 1st gear, do you mean M and then with the tiptronic you select 1st or that on the gear stick you select the "position" 1?

    thank you :)

You can do either one it doesn’t matter. Whatever you prefer. I don’t use the M button because it means I have to constantly be shifting gears. I use the 1 and 2 so I stay in D most of the time, (D and on sports mode, try it next you you drive and it’s much different.) I only use the 1st and 2nd gear when I really need to.

With the f150 it’s a very powerful car so power isn’t an issue it’s just knowing from where to start giving gas so you can gain momentum.

  6. Hey @Ivan Pironi so f150 has 3 types of traction control, I’ll post a chart explains the 3 types of traction control.

1 press the button and it turns off traction control.
2 hold for 5 seconds turns off ESC

3 hold for 5 seconds while in 4L turns off RSC

Now for the engine cutting power is mostly because if you drive on D the car automatically upshifts so you don’t overhead your gearbox, then will again downshift if you are still pressing the gas pedal. (Now you have to make sure you actually pressed the traction control button until you get a message saying ESC disabled. If it says traction control disabled it means it’s not fully disabled)

To over come this simply drop your gear into 1st and stay there, since it’s a big car and the higher you want to climb the more difficult it is it will be on the car, unless you have enough momentum before the dune to glide upwards. Further more if you are in sport mode it helps keep the gears lowers if you aren’t bothered driving manual.

The f150 owners manual doesn’t say anything about traction control or anything on how to remove it. You can install a kill switch in your car but your warranty will void. However I've never had the problem of losing power (only when I’m in D and doing long climbs or long side slopes. I use my tiptronic when I want to do long climbs and long slopes.) I thought about wanting to add a kill switch but after doing some research I found that I don’t need to. Loss of power isn’t a problem of mine anymore. (Unless I mess up and get lazy and not use my tiptronic 😂

Hope that helped. If we meet up one day on a drive I’ll explain face to face!
    Have a great day!

    P.S.

If you turn off your car and turn it back on check that traction control is off. Your problem might have also been that your car was off and you switched it off and forgot to check if traction control was off, happened to me 😂

  7. Great drive @Lorenzo Candelpergher and thank you @Ale Vallecchi for supporting, I really enjoyed the view (when I wasn't focused on not getting into tricky situations 🤣) had so much fun and it was different not being able to predict the dunes that were ahead, added another kind of thrill to the drive which I really enjoyed. Didn't mind the churned up sand, I think i did well on handling those. Also sorry @Ale Vallecchi if I had you driving in soup 😅

    See you all soon Inshallah!

You're all in the RSVP list for Friday morning's drive. Please let me know if there in any change in your drive plan.

Faqa to Last exit is a long drive, we plan to cover almost 100km. As this is a long drive, the end time may be delayed depending on stucks and refusals, thus please be prepared for it.

I will be putting out the convoy list tomorrow.

    Cheers!

Ah awesome. So the goal is to finish 100kms? Not just drive till 9:15 hoping to cover 100kms?

Thanks @Shehab Alawadhi for noticing and bringing this topic to the surface as I was completely swamped this week to make an announcement for this new feature.

Big thanks goes to all the Carnity Team who who were behind the thought process and fine tuning it to the perfection.

Second thanks to god send coder who could understand off-roaders language, as we were struggling behind this feature for over 6 months and just got lucky last month with this new programmer who can understand beyond 1010010101010.

You’re welcome @Gaurav I was waiting for an announcement and nothing was announced so I thought I missed it and said might as well say thank you to the people that helped developed this.

Also I hope this means we don’t have to mention how many drives we did for a promotion?😂
