  1. Technical -> long dunes -> Technical, great combination and really enjoyed it. Thank you @Wrangeld leading through, as well as the flawless support from @Hisham Masaad and @Ale Vallecchi.

And @Zixuan Huang - Charlie you have the accolade of being the only driver on this convoy with whom I never drove before (as far as I can remember)

we have driven together in one of Mehmet's fewbie, where @PaoloMarazitihad his popout feasta 🙃

  2. Welcome to the club @Felix Obst!

Sorry to hear about your roll over but glad to see you decided to be back on the sands!

At Carnity club I have never concerned about safety, as safety is always well taken care of by drive leaders and support team members. With Carinity, I am sure you will regain you confidence soon to conquer the Iftar bowl and perhaps the super bowl too!

Look forward to driving with you one day!

  3. I certainly made use of all my shoveling skills learnt from previous drives this time, never felt my shovel is this heavy before:D, and big thank to everyone, where we all showed the team spirit @Islam Soliman @Gregory @Daniel Yang @Aisha S @Anoop Nair

I never expected that I would be using the fire extinguisher anywhere in desert drive, I only brought it because of the grading requirement. The fire started by crawling in the sand with dry bush under the engine, maybe both the friction and the heat produced by the running engine with 4low engaged made the fire. @Islam Soliman Perhaps we should bring this to ppl's attention by post a topic? and I believe you have the pictures taken.

I had 2 stucks and several refusals, I guess I was too relaxed at the back that my level of attention wasn't enough for the technicals, thank you @Islam Soliman for always covering my ass

The winner of the day @Aisha S, the only one who did not get single stuck (my jinx didnt go well), and drove very well.

Apologies for not saying goodbye face to face to everyone at the end of the drive, (I did announce in the radio but only Anoop copied the message) I was really behind my schedule and had to run for my other commitment, Thanks God I wasn's too late.

    Till next time!

@Aisha S, seeing your Wrangler float up dunes and take the sharpest corners with so much ease made me question why I have a LWB

@munkybiznessI had similar thought, untill I had pleasure to witness what an extra Long WB 4x4 can do from Islam's Yukon!!!

Especially when your car has a powerful heart.

@Islam Soliman you need to make it up to him😈

PS: extra long WB I meant WB that is something near 3000mm. Yukon's WB is 3040 and LWB y61 is 2970.

  5. Thought I would remain as SW which seems to be a more relaxing role to me, but ended up being the more important role - CF, Thank you @Janarthanand @Hisham Masaad for the opportunity.

Great job done @Sunil Mathew being the SL, as well as the rest of convoy, especially the self-recoveries performed by @Michael Glavanis

@Nafiz I hope you can get your bumper fixed and will see you soon on the sands, yours were better than the other LC120 I have driven with in the same area, it had the entire bumper tore off in 1piece

Looking forward to seeing you in FB+ very soon @TT_Dubai!

  6. It's always pleasure and enjoyment driving behind @Islam Soliman, thought I have been to the area but the terrain was completely different from what's in my impression. To be frank, the technical bit at beginning was kinda scary to the half awake me, but a very effective prescription to pull myself together after tiny bit of sleep.

I had never crested in the past, and I had 2 in this drive, which was not expected, but a lot learnt, thanks everyone for helping out and holding.

@M.Seidam, who has made a great lecture on recovery throughout the drive, thanks a lot!

@JeromeFJ@Looper both very experienced driver, helping in and out at all the recoveries and not getting into a tiny bit of trouble!

@Sunil Mathew consistant performance, and the survivor of nearly 10 FB+ hours in one single day!

    and well done @Adhir Saxena!

I must apologize for taking huge amount of time on fixing my broken bumper/plate, it survived lots of ridge ridings with Ale, and thought it's strong enough, I already got few quotes by the time I am writing this, and should have it installed within the week.

(I do hope that I can get a skid plate in stock that dosent have "Xterra" on the front 🙃)

    Till next time!

  7. Let me add some woods to the fire😈

    1: Nissan Pathfinder R51,

    • a slightly different version of Xterra, same power full engine transmission and platform,
    • this VQ40DE engine is really powerful, and in my opinion the strongest among the V6 rivals (Toyota, Jeep, Pajero, I have driven all of the mentioned brands' NA V6), once you push beyond 3k RPM, the kick is unbeatable.
    • 3 row 7 seaters that can be folded down completely
    • full independent suspension, which allows you drive comfortably onroad, and the handlng is lots better than the ones with either 1 solid axle or both solid axles (All the Toyota options, Xterra, Wrangler), I drive often 130-140kmr on highway.
    • However its around 200 kg heavier 2.1-2.2 tons, which I dont think is much a big issue as you are looking for comfortable and roomy option

    2: Toyota Fortuner,

    • the SUV form of the mightly Hillux pickup
    • Extremely durable 4.0 V6 which is also used on pre 2010  LC200, LC120 and FJ.
    • Weight about 1.8-1.9 tons, makes it the lightest body on frame v6 7 seater offroader in my knowledge
    • Optional rear diff locker
