  2. Hello All,

    I am looking at picking up a 2 door chevy silverado trailboss. However, I am not too sure whether to get the brand new variant or an early 2022/ late 2021 version. In the newest one, they offer a floor shifter with paddle shifters, which seems to be a neat feature, whereas in the older varient, they give the regular column shifter. I'm a little hesitant about the column shifter as I'm used to a floor shifter, coming from a land cruiser and, its quite easy to use tiptronic. So, I'm asking all column shifter users whether using tiptronic on a column shifter is easy to use or whether it'd be a better idea to get the one with paddle shifters.

    Dear Desertnauts

    fresh off the plane, let's plan tomorrow's trip.

    First thing, the meeting point has been set at Faqa's sabkha, reachable by taking the exit just before that of the actual Faqa Town. Please note that the meeting time will be 7AM, and that we'll try to start as close to the meeting time as possible (so try to reach a little earlier.

    The drive plans to drive in a northerly direction, across the slip-faces, hence we may have to drive with a little more patience, to find the right places where to criss-cross the soft slopes and ridges. Initially we'll find more ling range dunes, which will leave room to more technical terrain, made more unpredictable by a bit of vegetation. Once arrived at Murqaab, depending on the time we'll have taken, we may either continue north, across a more technical area, toward the sabkhas just west of Margham, on the way to Lisaili's long range dunes, or we may take a shortcut on the "highway to Solar Park", and reach Lisaili plateau through this shorter route.

    The convoy will line up as follows:

    @Alexanderrr in Second Lead

    @Zulfikhar Naiyar at #3

    @Paolo Pellegrini #4

    @Jessica Lambert at #5

    @Ignacio Quindós will be #6

    @Ivan P #7

    @Vanessa8580 will Center the convoy

    @Miguel Codes at #9

    @Pierre de Maigret #10

    @Zubair at #11

    @Goutham Krishna #12, and

    @Rob S in Sweep.

    The convoy has been built to alternate Fewbies, with Fewbie Plus's or above, so that each lower ranked driver will be following the lines of more experienced driver, The presence of another Marshal (thanks to @Vanessa8580) makes the convoy even stronger and safer.

    The Carnity Radio Channel chosen for tomorrow will be #3 (446056).

    Looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow. Enjoy the evening.

    Hello Ale,

    Looking forward to the drive, just noticed that my name isn't listed, hope that can be resolved.

    Dear @Pierre de Maigret, @Dinesh Kumar A, @Gurcharan Mehta, @Sunil Mathew, @Ignacio Quindós considering the difficulty to reschedule, I will keep the drive on Sunday PM. I just kindly ask you to change the meeting time to 2PM. I will get ready for my trip beforehand, and will manage to reach the airport in time for my late evening departure.

    Thanks for understanding.

    Hello Ali,

    2pm on sunday works for me, see you then.

    @Gurcharan Mehta was at most pleasure observing how nice and in control you were guys driving that I rarely needed to correct anything for the guys behind whom as I sow from my rear mirror they were following each other in synchrony the two

    No shovels no ropes , just couple refusals  cleared with amazing self recoveries. The only “ event “ of the day is that we had to exit @Gurcharan Mehta as his passenger didn’t feel well I hope all ok by now 🙏

    Thank you for the kind words @M.Seidam, likewise it was a delight to meet you. Yes, the family is doing better now, thank you for asking.

    @Rizwanm2, it was a fun route as always, unfortunately we had to exit early, but looking forward to your future drives.

    I would like to once again apologize to everyone in the convoy for the inconvenience due to the early exit as we weren't feeling well.  @Rizwanm2 , @M.Seidam and everyone else, thank you for taking us to an exit even though we were in the middle of Badayer.

    It was a pleasure meeting everyone, see yall again soon!

  6. @Rizwanm2 Congratulations on your first lead! It was a very enjoyable route and we all had a lot of fun and we really liked the mix of dunes. From climbing the big dune to ridge riding the smaller ones. Also, thanks for letting me in at such short notice. It was a great drive and l look forward to future drives.

    @Gurcharan Mehta glad to see you again with your sun, who’s performing amazing copilot and secretary jobs 😅.

    Likewise @Hisham Masaad, it was great to meeting you again. Haha yes, my son does a great job being a copilot. He compares it to the job of a copilot during rally races.
