  1. @Srikumar@Chaitanya D@Rahimdad@Zed Thanks a lot for your input, really helped me a lot with my decision.

    I settled with this:

    - JZX 2T Low-Profile jack

    - 2in thick wooden jack board (probably will eliminate the need for an extension)

    - Incase an extension is required, I plan to use that wooden cube, placed between the jack and the car body. (It was suggested by the jack retailer, what would you say about this?)

  2. It was amazing how the new area of Al-Aweer welcomed us with such cool breezes, which accompanied us all the way to the end. Al-Aweer was full of wildlife, and vegetation, which enhanced the view of the natural landscapes, making the drive more visually pleasing. The spirits of Al-Aweer made sure that our experience driving in the area, would want us to come back for more 😂.
When I look back to when I was a Fewbie, I used to find Ridge Riding really challenging, but I bet after this drive, for our fellow Fewbies, Ridge Riding would be a piece of cake, @Ale Vallecchi made sure of that. Everyone drove really well, considering the fact that we only had to shovel twice and no tugs required.

@Ale Vallecchi Thanks for trusting me with the role of Center-Forward, I love helping fellow drivers out. You were an amazing lead as always, throwing different challenges at us and making sure we have a fun and safe drive. Will always look forward for more drives with you.

@Nabil Bishara You were a flawless sweep, actively helping out the drivers in need and keeping the tail of the convoy in order.

Oh and here’s a picture of two off-road convoys side by side.

  3. This drive was a perfect ending to a busy week. The drive started off with some really congested, technical dunes which got all of our arm muscles warmed up for what was to come ahead. The drive was initially slow paced but we gradually stepped it up as everyone was driving really well and was able to keep up with the challenges. There were minimal stucks or refusals, providing us with more time to drive and make the most out of the drive. Driving at night was something new for most drivers, but they managed it well, and we all enjoyed the drive to the max.

@Chaitanya D Thanks a lot for hosting and leading this wonderful drive, had a lot of fun, looking forward for more.

@Foxtrot Oscar You flawlessly handled the sweep position (definitely not a surprise 😂), by actively helping fellow drivers in trouble and keeping the convoy in order.

  4. Hey everyone, I am looking forward towards purchasing a floor jack for my vehicle as a bottle jack is really not recommended in sand. I read some previous threads and concluded that a Low-Profile Jack from JZX or YATO is the best option, as they are reliable and can easily be tucked under a vehicle without any digging required. After doing some research on the product, I found out that the Max height of a Low-Profile Jack is 14 inches (JZX)(Extenders are Not in Stock) (A standard jack has Max height of 19").

Now my question is that, is it suitable for a lifted car?. I drive a Jeep Wrangler that has a 2.5" Lift Kit with 33" tires, so it's a bit higher than a stock wrangler. So, as per my measurements, the center of my vehicle is 16.5" above a flat surface, and another contact point for the jack would be my front axle's truss reinforcement, as it is flat and sturdy, which is 12" above a flat surface. Meaning that I would only get a 2" lift if I were to lift the front. The jack board may add a inch or two but would it be enough(especially when lifting the back side)?.

As per my knowledge, I have concluded that a standard jack is more practical for lifted cars compared to a Low-Profile one. Now, @Frederic, @Gaurav, @Rahimdad, @Srikumar, what would be your take on this?

  5. Thanks a lot @Ale Vallecchi for saturating this drive with Thrill, Adventure and New learning experiences. It was good to see that everyone handled the challenges thrown at them very well.
Thanks for giving me an opportunity to be the Center Forward, its always fun helping others out and rerouting the convoy, furthermore it really enhanced the overall drive experience.

@varunmehndiratta, Your skills have progressed a lot since we last met, seeing you were able to tail me throughout the drive 😂, Well done.

@Niki Patel, It was nice seeing you again, been a long time since the RAK drive. I will be visiting Fewbie drives more often to meet up 😂

@Mehmet Volga, It was nice meeting you in person, amazing personality, and skills offroad. I was truly amazed by your skills with handling all those recoveries.

  6. @Pacific, there are 3 different ways for disabling ESP.

    1) Single press the ESP Off button (30% of ESP will be disabled) (ABS stays on)

    2) Switch to 4H, then hold the ESP Off button for 7-10 seconds (70% of ESP will be disabled) (ABS stays on) (You will hear a chime and see “ESP Off” on your dash)

    3) Pulling out the J6 Fuse (100% of ESP and ABS will be disabled)

I own a JK and I use the fuse pulling method to disable ESP and ABS. And after placing back the fuse, all the light go off within 10 seconds of movement. Hence there hasn't been a need of a Kill Switch.

Quick Question: Do you Switch Off the car before removing and placing back the fuse? If not, that MAY just be the cause for your lights to stay on for long.

  7. First of all, thanks to @Frederic and @Luca Palanca Falsini for accommodating such a massive convoy and making sure everyone gets to enjoy their weekend.

This drive was a bit longer (82 km) than usual (60km) and we drove mostly under the shade of the clouds with cool breezes flowing in through the windows.

Every one drove extremely well and we only had around 4 stucks through 4.5 hr hours of driving, hence we were moving for most part of the drive.

Thanks again @Frederic for leading such a fantastic drive, We enjoyed a lot and looking forward for more.

  8. Drive Report

Words cant describe how amazing this drive was! Today's drive packed with high speed maneuvering, tall dune climbs and technical dunes, easily makes its way to the top my Best Drives list.

Everyone was on time and deflated, allowing to enter the sand as early as possible and make the most out of the drive. I was given the position of 2nd Lead, and I enjoyed every bit of it, especially rerouting and scouting. We had a small number of stucks, which was expected due to the difficulty level of the terrain, but we all managed to helped each other out of them.

My car managed to climb Super Bowl all the way to the TOP, 3 times. It really managed to surprise me with such an amazing performance. Also this was the BEST part of the drive and everyone just loved roaring their engine up the bowl.

Unfortunately, @Yasas Dharmadasa & @Athula Dharmadada both had their cars rendered unmovable due to some major issues, hope you guys will be able to retrieve your cars without much trouble.

While we were dealing with the car problem, Time decided not to stop, and it wasn't long until it was pitch black, turning an afternoon drive into a night drive. Which was an AMAZING new experience, adding a lot more thrill to the drive. Plus it allowed me to use my extra lights that were just sitting and rusting tbh 😂.

@Srikumar You were such an amazing lead today, throwing challenges at us one after another, it was really awesome. Loved every bit of it. Thank you!

@Ahab Shamaa It had been a while since we last met, It was a nice little reunion 😂. I hope I managed to impress you with my driving skills today 😂 Definitely looking forward for more drives together.

  9. Drive Report

This drive was a perfect opportunity to leave all the metropolitan stress behind and fully immerse into the beautiful landscapes that nature has to offer. We went across several photogenic locations as we wandered towards the mountains way at the back. After a long relaxing drive we eventually caught up to the receding mirage of RAK's mighty mountains and continued to make our way through them.

Everyone drove extremely well, with us having no major stucks and only minor refusals, hence allowing us to make the most of the drive.

Unluckily @Abu Muhammad's Mighty Sequndra was not in a mood for a relaxing drive, probably it was hungry for a tougher challenge 😂. Either ways we had to escort his out onto tarmac.

@Frederic Thanks a ton for leading such an amazing drive. You were really active and interactive, making the drive feel more 'alive'.

@Melenany @Jeepie I can tell you guys did a great job all the way at the back considering the fact that everyone made it out safely without any trouble 😂, Well done guys.

  10. The role of a Lead probably caught @Lorenzo Candelpergher off guard, but @Lorenzo Candelpergher being himself, handled it with perfection and led our convoy to a beautiful and rather scenic drive towards the setting sun.
@Chaitanya D kept a watch over the convoy from the back, making sure everything stays on track. Thanks for giving me a chance to Tug yet again😄
@Ashok chaturvedi and @Veedooshee were extremely active towards their roles, nicely done.

@Thomas Varghese, Thanks for the amazing pictures buddy 😃

@Foxtrot Oscar Hope the issue with your car was sorted out, looking forward for the drive on Saturday.
