Congratulations @DP1011 and @Simon D for successfully completing the second session of leaders lead with flying colors.
As you all have learned the art of leading while navigating your way with GPS, now it's your chance to get ready for the ultimate test of skills.
You will be learning the basics of leading in the desert in three different sessions:
- Advance sand reading, plan your lead, plan your exits.
- Use navigational software for selecting the right course of the path.
- How to plan and scale the lead and recoveries in the most grueling terrain.
In this third session of leaders lead you will be leading through technical dunes with the help of off-road navigation app or device. And also learn to scale up or down the drive level difficulties as per convoy response.
Prepare and mark these basic points and you will be required to reach any one or few of them:
-
Entry and Exit
- Lisali camel track
- Lisali Fort
- Lisali technical dunes
- Murquab technical dunes
- Faqa long range dunes
- Faqa technical dunes
- Mark few play area in and around Lisali, Murquab and Faqa area.
- Mark as many sabka, flat track or easy exits in case of emergency.
- Mark fencing or restricted area.

Dear @Gaurav is there also a possibility to pay for the camp meeting only, to be there like a visitor to witness the winner of the trophy and enjoy the night with Carnity members?
Thanks @Dan S we will surely consider this for next event and plan it in advance. For this time it was a tight spot to get 50 pax availability with Emirates Tour campsite.

Thanks @Rizwanm2 for raising the question to drive along blue line:
- Do not drive parallel to the blue border within 1 km buffer zone at any time.
We have updated same on the announcement post, to stay away from blue line with a minimum gap of 1 km buffer, as many places have buried old fencing, debris or irregular farm fences that can damage cars severely.

Please find the much-awaited Desert Champions Trophy 2023 area with all the waypoints and timetables.
- Do not cross the blue border, that will result in disqualifying the whole team.
- Do not cross the no-go area, that will result in disqualifying the whole team.
- Do not drive parallel to the blue border within 1 km buffer zone at any time.
- All waypoints will be counted once.
- Any team that returns to the starting point within 6 hours with maximum points (as per waypoint weightage) covered through their whole team GPS track will have the honor to lift the Trophy with the most distinguished title of The Desert Champions for the next full year.
-
In case of a tie on points, the team with the least kilometer clocked will win.

Is there media coverage of the event.
Do I get to wear my broadway suit? 😆There will be Carnity media coverage for the event, so get the Broadway or even Tuxedos ready.
Perfect time to spice up the after-event party at the campsite.
