Sun is shining.... the weather is sweet Yeah!

With the temps finally settling down a bit, i was looking forward for a morning on the sand with the fellow Carniteers :)

We started from the Nahel side, as i was adamant on avoiding other clubs and crosstracks and tried finding some cleaner areas. To all our surprise, this area was virgin and had some nice play areas in store for us ! We made our way down south and had our fill in all sorts of ways. All of you drove amazing today, and we covered good ground.

I wanted to top it off with a visit to the old lady dune, which we approached from the back and where @Rizwanm2 did a nice strike 😁

Jeeper Boys @Haitham Khattab @Ignacio Quindós@Kailas@Gok Krishand of course @Srikumar breathing in my neck you all were amazing today.

Xterra mafioso @Lawrence_Chehimi and @Rizwanm2 you guys rocked !

Keeping the Pajero team alive @Daniel Rodas brought his new colleague and showed what a Pajero can do ! Amazing !

LC10000000000 driver @Zed driving the snot out of his LC as usual 😁

And FJ power in the name of @Imran Kashif - always with a big smile behind the wheel 😁

All in all a pretty systematic  drive, as you can expect from a guy like me 🤣

Get ready for more adventures along the E95 the coming months ! Yalla !!

  2. What an awesome drive today @Ale Vallecchi, feeding our midweek hunger with an extra dose of adrenaline and Speed. Thank you so much for arranging such an amazing speedy drive, sponsored by the beating melodies  of deep purple and executed by very capable drivers. @Jessica Lambert, looks like u ve been practicing FB+ at home :) , you drove it like a pro FB+ and didn’t seem that’s your second drive in the level. @KAMALIO, pleasure to see you for the first time, looking forward to see you again. @JeromeFJ, always a pleasure to drive with you, you set an example of timely clear communication  and support to the convoy.

Looking forward to the second installment of Deep Purple, with the target to beat the record of the 1st drive.

@varunmehndiratta  i would suggest first you check what size tire will fit in your jeep without any rubbing,  even though you can go upto 34 inch tyres the width will have some rubbing issues. (unless you lift or install spacers).

im all in for geolanders due to excellent performance, good road comfort and reasonable price.

as per my understanding 35" is diameter of the tire. usually wrangler have skinny tires, so if you install fat tires it will rub on full turn or articulations.

@varunmehndiratta, I second  @Rizwanm2  i have Geolander 285/70/17 (33 inch) and they are great on-road and offroad. i dont hear much noise from tires on road and still maintain a smooth ride ( i put air at 32/32.5 bars on road). Off-road pretty good grip. Done 15k KM on them so far. Also, they are less expensive than BF & Cooper.

The only difference  i would say vs. BF or Cooper is it lacks the aggressive  look, mainly due to thinner sidewalls and normal tread design,

I installed 2.5 inch lift case for the same reason of avoiding rubbing. If you your considering 35 inch, with the stock suspension (softer than adjustable ones, where you can control compression & Rebound) probably consider 2.5” instead of 2” inch lift kit  and wheel spacers to avoid rubbing against bottom of the fender, specially on bumpy high climbs.

Best of luck with your search

  4. Thank you so much @Rizwanm2 for the great drive today. Faqa is such a beautiful area with a magnificent scenery. I really enjoyed it and thanks for the second lead opportunity. The drive was unique with  a unexpected  damp sand on the start, followed by exciting side sloping & ridge riding, ending with Technical dunes & speed run on Sabkhas.
Thanks @Gregory for the great support in the center and all the tugs, @Senthil Kumar for sweeping and clear communication and @GauravSoniwho Orchestrated  Stucks/Refusals for the convoy (aka Angel of the Trip😉).
Shout out to all convoy Friends, you all drove very well today, happy to see you  and looking forward to drive again with you soon.

@Hisham Masaad thank you for a very thrilling drive and thank you for giving me the opportunity to be SL. I was so excited that I made the rookie mistake of driving off in 2H! Causing me to immediately get stuck. Luckily we had @Ranjan Das on hand to give me a quick tug. Thank you! And while the able support of @JeromeFJ was right at the other end of the convoy, it is always a pleasure to share a drive with you. And thanks to @Brette for the advise when I had some refusals. Always good to have a marshal present.
