I am so hoping you are not ..was just behind you at almost the same speed, at least till the limit rose above 120 which i usually in any case don't exceed....keeping fingers crossed..i realized we are in AD however totally forgot about the no cushion thing
Yes I saw you.. as we neared the cut to emirates road, you went straight ahead and I turned right. The speed dropped to 80 near the short overpass and I saw a policeman crouching behind the short wall. I was doing near to 100 at that time. Yet every speed camera i was slowing down. Let us cross our fingers.

Great to have dear Richard back, I once recall he was behind me on a drive ( as a convoy driver) and I was superlative nervous to have a Marshal behind me. Near-half way of the drive he had to exit as his car was having some engine problem and I then could totally relax.

The gentle breeze this morning invited us into the Murquab dunes, and we happily obliged. With a small yet very capable convoy we easily digested the multiple technical areas we came across, with only a handful of refusals and stucks. I had my eyes set on some large long range dunes nearby Lisaili towards the end, but at one point my car started overheating very quickly and when I stopped and @Dodi Syahdar came to the rescue we noticed the coolant was all gone. Quickly Dodi his friend found the culprit which was a loose heater core hose. Took us some time to bypass the heater core and refill the radiator but after that time was running out and we had to head to the exit.
@Adam James you did great as SL today ! @Anirudh Dayma and @Yogesh Chaudhary rocking their Pajeros brilliantly, @Zubair with his new FJ toy driving effortlessly, @Jonny90 gliding the Super Safari through its natural habitat, all the while @Dodi Syahdar was everywhere to help out where needed.@Alex Hollands and his roaring Wrangler, and @Ashok chaturvedi surfing in the back of the convoy. A coherent team !
Thank you all for joining today, I promise next time we’ll be spending extra time on the long range dunes !
Thank you and great to drive under your command.. I hope your car gets a look over. Sometimes are are simple solutions and this was proved by Dodi and his friend..

Not sure if it was that we had a slightly shorter convoy than usual but I thought we all kept up a great pace and as a team had a very minor amount of stucks or refusals. Certainly keeps the adrenaline going when the dunes are receptive!
@Dodi Syahdar & @Ashok chaturvedi thank you as ever for the guidance and advise it’s gratefully received.
Great to meet you all.
Lookin forward to the next one already@Frederic
Thanks dear the entire convey did great there was only a couple of stucks and rest were mere refusals.

Dear Desertnauts.
I thank you all for the enthusiastic participation to Rush Hour 4. While looking at the waiting list I have had an idea that I would like to present to all drivers, the conformed signed up ones, and the waitlisted. If all, or most, agree, I will proceed as below:
I will extend the drive to 10 cars, hence confirming the following CONVOY 1:
@Zixuan Huang - Charlie, @Vaibhav, @Daniel Rodas, @varunmehndiratta, @Prakash Anoop, @topgear, @Rob S, @Alexanderrr PLUS @KAMALIO and @Chinthaka Ruwan
I will open up the drive to the next 10 waitlisted drivers, hence creating a new CONVOY 2:
@Naim Aoun, @Ashok chaturvedi, @munkybizness, @Simon Dawood, @Shaker, @ASAD., @Waqas Parvez, @Pacific, @Anoop Nair and @Ranjan Das
Convoy 1 will:
- meet up at Qudra's Last Exit at 2:00 PM, and will "rush" to reach Ghantoot's exit point
- start the drive exactly at 2:30 PM
- plan to end the drive at 4:30 PM sharp
- in case the full distance between Qudra and Ghantoot has not been covered, there is a track on a sabkha available for a quick exit to Ghantoot
Convoy 2 will:
- meet up at Ghantoot starting point at 4:30 PM, corresponding the Convoy 1's exit, and will "rush back" to Qudra's Last Exit
- start the drive exactly at 5:00 PM
- plan to end the drive at 7:00 PM
- also, if the drive will not have reached Qudra's Last Exit, we'll take the closest exit on Bab al Shams Road
This will allow 2 convoys to drive within the "Rush Hour" format, on the Qudra to Ghantoot route and vice versa, with only me commuting back and forth. It will be a relay of sorts, with the goal of accommodating all drivers into this exciting format.
I would like to ask each of you, both confirmed and waitlisted drivers, to please acknowledge the above idea, and confirm your presence in the allocated convoy. I will proceed to open up the drive to all those who agree with the above format, hence confirming the convoys above (or part of them, if not all agree).
Thanks a lot for your prompt consideration and reply. Have a great Sunday.
@Ale Vallecchi Thanks and appreciate very much.. I am so sorry that you have to run back to back convoy for us. I am most certainly in.

USA is a crazy country when they invite exclusive features before allowing imports. There was silly car before FJ called PT cruiser just a smaller car than FJ and quite celebrity low cost car with fuel saving. I am sure the FJ you mention here could have been a model USA car and not the regular one we drive in this part of the world. But not having 4H and 4Low is unbelievable. Glad to hear someone bought it off you. Speaking about 4X4 the 80-90s the popular one to have was Land Rover Discovery with the high back. Driving in the sand wasnt in demand then but what we called 'wadi bashing' and the Land Rover was on the king of rocky paths.

Dear All
please recommend where to buy remote tyre pressure monitoring system for my FJ. where we can monitor live the pressure.
thanks ashok

Dear all
Need advice about installing a cold air intake system on my FJ. Some believe that it adds HP, smoother engine better sound while say others it can damage engine. Is it really worth the cost of AED 2500/-?
