  1. Looking forward to the drive tomorrow morning...

I've just fitted Yoko Geolandar G015's and tomorrow will be my first drive using these tyres. Am keen to see how they perform especially after hearing majority positive reviews... Does anyone in this drive ride on these (or similar all terrain) tyres, and can suggest an optimum pressure? Of course there'll be trial and error. Previously, 13PSI worked well for me - that was on regular (road) tyres. So looking for input and opinions... thanks

  2. @samamara I've recently fitted both front (which extends to cover the area just under the number plate) and rear plates, and happy to have done so especially during my fewbie drives. I had to look at the cost of the plates, versus potentially damaging expensive engine parts during the drives - and in hindsight was a good decision. Great comments above, especially the explanations from @Gaurav and @Frederic, as usual. The rear bumper in particular is vulnerable, basically acting as a scoop at the wrong angle, so this needs attention. For me personally, a kill switch is not a priority at the moment.

I have the same car as you. We don't share workshop names/details on the portal, but if you'd like to discuss further/including workshop contact,  feel free to contact me - 050 734 5801.

  3. So much great input as usual ! Personally I've found 4H works better for me, especially when needing power to go/push up dunes... I have a LWB 3.8.  Agree with the others that that personal driving style and feel is important.  @Paolo Pellegrini I found a big difference when driving using tiptronic - I now only use the tiptronic (mostly 2nd gear), as feel the automatic (D) is too slow to respond. There may also be a subtle difference between the 3.5 and 3.8. My car uses stock shocks, and there's no lift.

Summary: Tiptronic all the time, mostly 2nd gear (except when more power needed), and 90% 4H

Hopefully my comments add some perspective - most of the comments above are from guys much more experienced than me.

  4. I have the same (camel) twin compressor as @Tareck I bought it at DM for around AED 240 if I remember correctly. Inflates my tires from 13PSI to 34PSI in around a minute - but it does get very hot, especially if I'm on a day drive and the compressor is in the sun. As I paid only AED 240, I won't feel very sad when it stops one day.. melts or blows up - and then would like to upgrade to something like @Anish S has.

Wow Lakshmi! Looking good. I'm following you tonight so this might mean I won't even have to use any lights 😂😂
