    Hi guys!

Hope you had a better continuation of the drive than the start. It was very sad to see you all ”vroooming” away, and living me behind, however, it was the right thing to do…From the technical point of view, I didn’t expect this to happen, not that bad. I have never, ever had a pop out, and felt a little bit ”overconfident” thinking “this doesn’t happen to me”, so I guess this was a small lesson in being more humble.

What I have done, is to change the tires from 285/70 to 275/65, keeping the same rims…Tires were brand new 2 days old. Misstake. The tyre guy today said the tires need a while to get a bit softer, and “mold” a bit to the rim.

Many thanks to @Lorenzo Candelpergher for the swift and expert guidance with the 2 pop outs. Also thanks to the rest of you who helped. I know that everyone wants to help, but still when you are the one causing the delay, it’s so stressful knowing you’re keeping everybody still…

Went straight to the tyre shop, and fixed the tires. No damages, besides on of the tyre pressure sensors that broke. The biggest damage is the psychological one, cause my faith in the FJ, which has been rock solid until now, is somewhat weakened 😩. But I guess that happens sooner or later in any relationship 😂.

So I have already found new rims to buy, cause the only way out of this is beadlocks. Anyone has any opinion/knowledge about “Black Rhino Primm” rims??

A final word to @Gaurav: you told me the danger of starting modifying the car, where you get into a never ending spiral of more mods/more time/more money. Well, here I am, living the dream: bought the car like this, w 285/70 tires>no problems>started with extreme drives>front wheels where touching sometime>decided to lift the car just a notch + spacers> hitting got MUCH worse>removed spacers>better but still not perfect>changed to smaller tyres>Today it was perfect and I fell like a king for 10 minutes before getting a double pop-out…I hope the beadlock rims will put an end to this drama…

Hope to get the chance to have more drives like the first 2-3 extreme drives, which were magical, super intense and virtually with no stops/stucks/accidents…

    See you!

    /Chris

Dear @Christian Andras what ever happen your relation with the fj should never be affected😬. Tires are only shoes of the car, and I don't think relations with your friends are affected by .....🤣🤣🤣🤣

  2. What a good news to have this info available. At some stage when I found I need to ask about the record, I thought not to bother any one, I started recording the drives I join on my Samsung note as attached. The list ended up like a track in the desert 🤣🤣. I am sure @Goutam by time every thing can improve, and you might have all your suggestions and more happening. Thanks to @Carnity @Gaurav @Frederic and all others behind this 👏👏👏👏👏

  5. Dear @Frederic,,, many thanks for posting this. It is really useful, since I installed the winch in my car, and the first time i used it, was somehow a mess. When I tried to use it for the second time, the rope was not coming out, till @Brettehelped to pull  it using his car. During this period, was searching on how to use the winch, to learn more about it. I found ( and this need your suggestion as well for others who is planning to fix a winch ), fixing soft rope winch is much easier to handle more than the steel rope winch, specially for spooling the rope back.

    Quick Drive Debrief:

    Thanks   @Frederic @Darren Brooke @Rawad Bahsas @Nithin Vaidir @Hisham Masaad @Chris Wing @JeromeFJ @Mehmet Volga @Adhir Saxena @Sinol @Ranjan Das @Thomas Varghese @Nabil Bishara
for a great drive today.. special thanks to @Frederic @Mehmet Volga and @Nabil Bishara for supporting the drive today and helping with the minor stucks and refusals faced. We were blessed with almost virgin dunes after last week’s strong winds altering the terrain and at the same time boosted the challenge with some unstable dunes and very soft spots..

Warming up from the Nazwa farms till we arrived at big red was flawless with almost no refusals which encouraged me to raise the bar and try to take the convoy up through the big red bowls .. turned out to be a challenge and refusal screams started to come up through the radio one after the other so decided to tune it down and go around big red to the play area after the team dealt with the only pop out of the day on @Chris Wing’s FJ. At BR everyone took turns and enjoyed climbing safely to the top .. I believe this helped boost the convoy’s confidence so on our way to Pink Rock I was encouraged to go through some of the big bowls on our route and everyone did pretty well. Moving to the next challenge through a lite taste of the technical dunes, everyone did well with minor stucks & refusals all of which were quickly sorted out with the great help of @Mehmet Volga@Nabil Bisharaand @Hisham Masaad. Surprisingly by the time we exited to the sabkha the radio was overwhelming screaming for more technical dunes 😂 but it was already past 9:00am!. As the convoy OKed to extend the drive by another 30mins, we made our way as planned to Pink Rock where everyone played to their satisfaction and was happy that some drivers kept trying more than once until they managed to learn more about their cars and get the right technique to make it to the top coming down with a big smile on their face.

Finally we made our way to 2nd of Dec Caf to inflate at 10:00am.

Hats off to all drivers today, I hope you enjoyed the drive as much as I did.. till we meet 🌿

P.S. don’t keep the drive pictures for yourselves and share 😂😂 specially the beautiful one Abdulghani took for the convoy @Hisham Masaad

Thank you @Islam Soliman for leading the drive, was really good. Many thank for @Frederic @Mehmet Volgaand @Nabil Bishara for the support, and thank every one joined the drive. Yes, @Islam Soliman requested Abdelghani to release the pictures, accepted and posted few hours after the drive 😀😀

I moved to the drive in the afternoon, I realized I couldn’t attend the one in the morning. By the way, as you both have BFGoodrich, also advise from other members is most than welcome, at which pressure do you drive in the desert? So far I used to drive at 10psi and I hadn’t had any problem until last week, and I am sure it was due to the valve was damaged ( both pop-ups were in the same wheel and @Bretterealized the valve has a small cut ). Do you drive at 10, 11 or 12? Mines are 285/70 R17.
    Thanks a lot !!

I usually put them 11psi @luis mantecon and no issues so far
