  2. @Marketa Dobesova @Arvind Uchil @Gautam Banka @Mohit Gurnani @Imteeaz @Ron.P @Patrick @Juan R @Ignacio Quindós thank you all for joining the drive last evening, I hope you all had as much fun as I did covering a grand total of 58kms. we had everything that we had planned for except of course a mini popout, but we did plan for a beautiful sunset, to a taste of night driving and of course some lovely flowing dunes to play on. We also encountered some unexpected traffic, I have never seen traffic like that since I have been driving in the desert in truly was a sheik Zaid experience. you guys all drove extremely well and that was evident from the very few refusals and stucks that we encountered so well done to you all.

@Marketa Dobesova thank you for an absolutely brilliant second lead, you followed my instructions well and gave clear and concise inputs to the rest of the convoy, was a pleasure to have you follow me, correct the lines and keep the convoy on the right track.

@Ignacio Quindós thank you for accepting the late change and stepping up to sweep the convoy, excellent job at the back giving me regular updates makes leading with confidence so much easier when you know what is happening at the back.

@Imteeaz fantastic support as always in the CF position your calm nature and clear head in dealing with the couple of issues we had made the drive much smoother for sure.

@Arvind Uchil I hope your passenger is feeling better and really glad you were able to complete the drive with us.

Have a great week ahead see you all again soon

    Hi there

I had joined in time and found my self out of 8. But now I am not on list. Please add me.

I have added myself now to waitlist

@Arvind Uchil I did post earlier that unfortunately you are still a Newbie, this means that you cannot join a Fewbie or above drive. You can only join drives at or below your current rank. So at the moment you can only join Newbie drives. Therefore, I am unable to add you to this drive as it is Fewbie and above. Thanks in advance for your understanding.

  6. DRIVE DESCRIPTION

Meeting at Tawi Nizwa we will meander our way around the dunes taking in the delightful scenery as we go. This drives latter portion will be after Sunset, so it is an ideal drive for those that have not driven at night before and want to sample the experience without starting in darkness. We will also hopefully have a beautiful sunset to savor as we move from daylight to twilight to dark.

  7. Thanks @Looper for splitting the convoy and allowing me to lead the second convoy today, it was a great route we picked with a lot of different terrain. The Faqa Express passed by with ease as we were shoveling a crested team member. Well @Simon D and @Pacific were actually doing the shoveling :):) i was supervising from the comfort of my leather arm chair with AC on full blast :)

the terrain that the convoy went through today was some of the trickiest I have seen for a while and powdery soft in places making it more difficult, @Pacific @Ignacio Quindós @Stumpy Paj @Yaseen87 @Simon D @Mark B &@Tareq Al Turq each and every one of you managed it with style and Panish, a very well done to all.

@Ignacio Quindós what can I say, just wow and thank you, fantastic second lead, great distance enabling you to maneuver left or right as soon as I told you to, fit made the drive a lot smoother and safer fantastic support thank you.

@Simon D excellent as always in the CF Role your calm instructions assisted to get the few refusals and stucks we had turned around safely and quickly well done and thankyou.

@Pacific superb support in the SW position helping out Simon where needed in your usual calm and patient manner.

Well done to all and thanks you for making my Sunday one to remember.

some stats for those that enjoy knowing where we went

  8. Fellow desert wanders @Felix Obst @Andrei S @Frans M @Joseph Sebastian @Glenn W @Ishak @Mohit Gurnani @Zubair @Nadeem Ansari @Gertjan @Jaro Tuzinsky @Marketa Dobesova @Stan  @Senthil Kumar  @DP1011 @Looper @GauravSoni firstly thank you all for showing up on time it was great to see you all bright and early this morning.

@Looper really appreciate you volunteering to take half the convoy thus allowing us to accommodate all the waitlisted folks this week. Secondly a big congratulations on your first independent lead and I look forward to more adventures tomorrow my friend.

A big thank you to @GauravSoni for attending and supporting the second convoy as always, a pleasure to have you along for the ride.

Our drive today (Convoy 1) had a little bit of everything, from Vegetation to Virgin sand, soft sand, hard sand, Camels, donkeys and Cows, a couple of refusals that were brilliantly self-recovered, as well as a couple of Stucks and of course a pop out.

A big thank you to my second lead @Ishak you did an amazing job holding where necessary and then following instruction to move the convoy out of harms way left or right, and even re-routing at one point. Well done and appreciated the support.

Thanks to @DP1011 as always a pleasure to have you along in support buddy. you were just simply amazing, you handle the refusals with calm tone and a knowledgeable approach that allowed most to be self-recovered. well done!

@Felix Obst great job at sweep my friend you kept me well informed and more importantly kept the convoy together at the back. Also assisting with the recoveries, great job on the tug for @Ishak it was perfect.

@Felix Obst @Frans M @Joseph Sebastian  @Ishak @Marketa Dobesova    @DP1011 @Stan without exception drove fantastically. you guys are amazing, I enjoyed the banter on the subkha, the teamwork with the shovels, and the patience as we worked through the last stuck and pop off.

I hope you all enjoyed the drive today as much as I did.

    Thank you all.

Have a great rest of your weekend

  9. Just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone for the warm wishes of congratulations and support on my promotion to trip lead. It is very humbling to get so many, but this just goes to show the strength of the community of this great club.  This is the start of a new journey for me. That I cannot wait to get my teeth into and continue learning and sharing my experiences with others.

The journey and learnings to this point with Carnity have been amazing. The fantastic support and encouragement from all of the trip leads and the support team members (all too many to mention) is second to none and has definitely made this a most pleasant journey. Couple that with meeting so many like minded, fun, enthusiastic and genuinely nice people we call members makes it all the more special.

My first independent lead is just on the horizon and I am as enthused and excited as I was when I joined my first master class with @Frederic here’s hoping it goes as well as that did 🤞😀

Thank you all again for the messages of support, and hope to see you all in the sand again very soon.
