@Vanessa8580 - that was a spectacular drive, and great fun. Many thanks indeed. Duct tape included.
@Zed @ASAD. @Sunil Mathew @Waqas Parvez @AlexM @Pierre de Maigret - thanks for your support and general amusement at my latest disgraceful episode.
I am posting photos to the gallery, mostly taken by my co-pilot Nigel. Some of them very good. I include the latest pictures in his collection 'How not to drive in the desert the Andrew way'. Enjoy

Well, that was fun! Many thanks to @Gaurav Soni for the lead and @Brette for the support. I am loading quite a few photos to the gallery - I can't claim credit for any of them as they were taken by Nigel. Please take a look as some of them are very good indeed.

@Ashok chaturvedi @Murtaza Bhuria @TT_Dubai @Gaurav Soni @Brette - I loaded some of Nigel's photos to the gallery quite late so you might not have seen them but they are worth a look Fewbie - Murquab - Dubai - 30 July 2022 - Carnity.com

Great morning out in the sand with this SUPER convoy ! Thanks @Anoop Nair for the very reliable second lead, and @Zed for brushing at the back
@Imran Kashif it shows you’ve been driving all summer. Good control ! @Pascal you’re like a Swiss watch: we can always count on you whenever there’s a party in Abu Dhabi Terrain !
@Andrew McCarthy and Nigel: Nigel looked happy today and was in awe of what Andrew is doing with that poor Pajero 😂.
And now that we’ve found our new ADNOC, we’ll be going back there very soon !
Thanks @Frederic for a really fun drive, very enjoyably paced, in a beautiful area. Extra marks for finishing next to an ADNOC oasis with a functional air pump. @Anoop Nair @Pascal @Zed @Imran Kashif- thanks for the support, patience and good humour when I provided this week's 'learning opportunity'. Imran and I have posted a few photos of it to the gallery for amusement and education. I will let you know when I post some more photos from my co-pilot Nigel later.

Now m looking at gallery to see if there any pics! 😳
@Gaurav Soni @Frederic @Zed - check out the gallery now. I think the incident is somewhat exaggerated. Just a bit of an amusing stuck in some very soft sand. Dealt with quite easily and in good humour.

Excellent summaries from @Sunil Mathew, @Joseph Sebastian, and @Paolo Pellegrini.
Grazie mille @Ale Vallecchi for leading, the excellent communication, guidance and tuition, and (mostly🤣) patience. It was a pleasure and education to be second lead.
Many many ridge crossings, soft sand and unusually difficult light (which made it hard for Alessandro to plot a route, and for me to even see his tracks at times) made for a very testing but enjoyable outing, from which I learnt a lot.
Many thanks to @Sunil Mathewand @TT_Dubai for the support and everybody else who helped with my popout.
Onwards!

Sorry - dropping out of this. Sounds fun but Saturday morning is much better for me and I got added from a waitlist. Have fun everybody and see you next time.

Thanks @Kailas - that was another fun evening drive with an unpredicted ending. Lots of excellent cooperation and ingenuity to rescue the cars from the bowl at the end (at least I am assuming they aren't still there), and to reroute the rest of us through a very tricky exit.
@Rajiv Sam - I can't believe I didn't give you anything to do. There is always next time

Many thanks @JeromeFJ for a very technical and very enjoyable (if slightly early) Saturday morning. I very much enjoyed the second lead position, so pleased not to have screwed it up too badly. Big thanks to @Beide Worku not only for the excellent sweeping but also the duct tape proficiency which kept my flag in place for the whole drive.
A lot of fun, and with great spirit in the group. A few pics to be posted.

@Kailas many thanks for my first night drive. It was different, beautiful, a lot of fun, and occasionally slightly terrifying. I loved the fast pace. Great job @Gaurav Soni for the lead on part II even if it did last rather longer than the advertised '30-40 minutes'.
Thanks also to @Rajiv Sam for putting down some good fresh tracks when the sand was carved up towards the back of the convoy in part I and @Looper for leading me around in part II. Finally to everybody for looking out for each other on the recoveries and to all who helped the impressively quick repair of my pop-out.
Onwards!

That was a lovely drive - one of my favourites so far. I hadn’t realised there were such dunes in Dubai.
Many thanks to @Chaitanya D for organising. Great stuff from @varunmehndirattaas the alternate lead - really good lines, excellent communication, and the right pace to keep it enjoyable while keeping the convoy together. I look forward to driving with you again. Particular admiration also for @Jessica Lambert for miraculous powers of seemingly effortless recovery, self-deprecation and carrying a spare radio.
Have a good week all.

Ciao @Ale Vallecchi, unfortunately I am only slowly recovering from an illness which might still make it a bad idea to drive tomorrow, so I am dropping out now to let somebody take my place from the waiting list.
Have a great drive all of you,
Andrew

Sorry @Kailas but I have had to withdraw. I have been sick the last few days with vertigo. While I am somewhat better it may still not be safe for me to drive tomorrow, and it makes sense to give time for somebody else to join.
A shame as I was really looking forward to my first night drive. I hope you all enjoy it.

You guys Rocked today ! What a wonderful morning with fantastic weather and dunes galore !
Fantastic teamwork from all of you to overcome our minor issues (pop out, tyre replacement, and fixing my punctured radiator hose). We all came out unscathed and will be back in Sweihan very soon !
Perfect second lead @Amr Aydin , Louuuud sweep @Daniel Rodas😅, and @Shaaz Sha always nearby to help out.
See you guys soon in the sand again !

It was so satisfying to be back in Sweihan. The vastness of sand, the majestic dunes, zero cross tracks and just about 75 mins drive from Dubai makes Sweihan my favorite playground.
Towards the end of last year, this beautiful place was ravaged by bulldozers making it virtually impossible to drive anymore. But the desert is the prime example, that time is the biggest healer. The winds of change covered all the bruises and we were back to having fun just like old times.
@Zulfikhar Naiyar was my second lead and did a very good job of following my tracks and rerouting when needed. Nicely done buddy.
@Anthony Tan you have certainly grown in lot of confidence from the last time I saw you in Tilal Sweihan. Overall well managed.
@Ivan Pironi your F150 must have felt at home in this terrain where you could rev it up as much as your heart desired. One piece of advise - there were places where you were keeping a bit too much gap from the car in front. We can learn a lot from seeing how the car in front is tackling the terrain and accordingly adjust ourselves on the fly, so try driving a bit more closer. But overall well done.
@Paolo Pellegrini seeing you after the AN which has been a while back. There were only a couple of places where you did struggle just a bit, but I think that had more to do with your tire pressure. As we get into the summers, the tyre pressures will keep increasing during the drive so we will have to keep a constant look out for it. Other than, you drove very well.
@Andrew McCarthy was flying with his Pajero and handled the entire route with aplomb.
Driving at the back end of the convoy is never easy with all the churned tracks, but it can add to the challenge, so my hat goes off to @Amr Aydin @Haitham Khattab @Deepak 11 for managing things so well.
@Awais Zuberi appreciate you handling the sweep position yesterday. Driving in sweep, can be difficult at times, especially if you have some heavy cars that have gone through but that's where your skills start improving a lot. Also, play a bit with the tyre pressures as you are driving on AT and you will find a whole new level.
Finally, a big thanks to @Looper for supporting this drive and helping out the entire convoy and also non Carnity members when in need.
Till we meet next time again on the sand, see you and take care.
Thanks @Srikumar that was a lovely drive. Many thanks to you, @Looperand @Awais Zuberi for the support. See you next time. Andrew

Hi @Hisham Masaad, and thanks for a really fun drive. That was my most enjoyable drive yet. Loved the fast pace and being SL. Apologies if you were a little alarmed by my Pajero taking to the air occasionally, but seemingly no harm done to driver or car. Thanks also to @Gaurav Soni and @Zixuan Huang - Charlie for the support and advice. Onwards!

@Shaaz Sha Many thanks to you and the rest of the group for a great fun drive on my first Fewbie gig. Hope I didn’t screw up the tracks too badly for those behind me. I am still looking for that lost track though…
@Looperthanks for your help. @Vinod Damodaran no need to apologise for your pneumatic misfortune. I am sure it will happen to us all at some point, if it hasn’t already. @Tom B thanks for the cool pics.
Onwards.

I have somehow managed to make myself a 'manager' for this drive. And I don't know how to remove myself. Frederic, please remove me! 😆
Although I would like to join if I get my promotion this week
