Frederic
According to the Moon Cycles we found out that the evening of 30 May 2021 is going to be excellent for night photography! We will have a new moon which will hide below the horizon right after the sunset. The plan is to have a meetup with max. 10 members to practice and enjoy the art of night photography and learn from each other. Bring whatever camera you have and have a look at the advisable settings in your camera manual or ask in the forum. After the event you can publish your photos in our gallery ! Location: Faqa: https://goo.gl/maps/CRwuFW8i6ZLnSoKn7 We will be deflating at the meeting point, and then head out to a nearby quiet Sabkha. Please bring your offroad tools as you would do for a regular offroad drive. (pressure gauge, deflator, compressor). What to bring: headlamp and/or flashlight, camping chair, Camera or Smartphone, tripod, film/memory cards, extra battery, Recommended Lens(es). A tripod is recommended for night photography. Frederic
Good morning All ! Ranjan Das @Ranjan Das Hisham Masaad @Hisham Masaad Shaker @Shaker Quresh Pajero @Quresh Pajero Mario Cornejo @Mario Cornejo varunmehndiratta @varunmehndiratta Gaurav @Gaurav Mohamad Anwer @Mohamad Anwer Anoop Nair @Anoop Nair sri ganesh @sri ganesh Stan Hassett @Stan Hassett munkybizness @munkybizness Thank for signing up for this session ! Some of you have joined us before on these evenings and you probably know already what to expect from it. A few points: 1) We will meet up at the meeting point at 7PM Sharp, and deflate a bit (20-25psi is fine) and engage 4x4. Meeting point: https://goo.gl/maps/CRwuFW8i6ZLnSoKn7 2) By 7.15PM we will head a bit into the Faqa dunes area. There is a nice group of trees with a small abandoned farm house that we will use as our subject. It's about 10mins of offroading. 3) From there you can park the car, set up your tripods and start shooting away. 4) Most people will be leaving by 10 or 10.30 latest i assume, whoever wants to leave earlier can be escorted back to the road. Please don't wander off alone as this area is surrounded by very technical dunes. Whoever wants to camp please go ahead as well. In daylight its very easy to find your way back to the road. 5) This is NOT an Offroad drive event, but a gathering of photography enthusiasts/hobbyists/pro's/newbies to practice astrophotography. So please stick with the group and don't go off-roading alone at night in this area. Bring at least the following equipment: headlamp and/or flashlight, camping chair, DSLR Camera or Smartphone, tripod, film/memory cards, extra battery, Recommended Lens(es). A tripod is recommended for night photography with your DSLR. In the meantime, it would be good to hear from you if your are completely new to this and might need some help with the settings. Let us know which camera and lens you will bring. There will be definitely people around that have experience with the same type/brand of cameras so we can help each other out. I will be bringing Canon 5D Mk2 with: -Samyang 14mm f2.8 - Canon 35mm f2.0 See you all soon ! 4 "Go as far as you can see; once you get there, you'll be able to see further."
