Popular Post Chaitanya D
Dear friends, @Foxtrot Oscar, @Nabil Bishara, @Nizam Deen, @Jorge Stepniak Felippe, @Craig Finlayson, @Gregory Perkin, @Nivin, @Mehmet Volga , @marks, @Islam Soliman, @jodha singh shekhawat Thank you for joining this drive, many of you who have driven with me before . As you are aware this is a fewbie plus drive and hence we will be off roading at a faster pace than regular without any compromise on safety of everyone. What you can expect and what we will do is described in brief below , but however as you are aware by now uncertain and unknown issues can happen ,nevertheless we will try to keep then to bare minimum. Terrain- I personally love this part of the desert for some reasons like - perfect mix of technical terrains and medium- tall long range dunes where you can stretch as you like. Practice and improvise on side sloping, ridge riding and cross crossing . As you all get better at this we can do this more often . - beautiful scenery with some trees , sabkhas , massive solar panels and of course the Lisaili camel track at the start. We will be driving along this track for some distance and hopefully can see some camel racing considering it's a weekend. - very little crowd and interference from other convoys considering the off road season has started. (I really hope this is true this weekend). Climate - expect it to be cool early and comfy as it gets sunny( sunrise 6.21AM) Drive plan - we start from Lisaili along the camel track. There is technical terrain at the start which we will try to get across with min refusals or stucks. We will cover as much long range dunes after this and head towards Murqab and possibly exit there .If there is a lot of time left and depending on convoy response we can go further to Faqa. Finally exiting on to Al ain road , from wherever we do exit.( Well we plan , but then there is always some uncertainty when in the desert 😜) Prepare - make sure your vehicles are in good condition with all fluids and coolants topped up properly. Make sure the spare tire is available if needed and in proper condition. Check your recovery points again and come with as full a tank as possible. Please go through the threads on carnity about ridge riding and crossing for you all to be prepared. When you arrive at the starting point there can be a lot of vehicles and camels moving around, please take care and drive safe. See you on friday!
