Hi @Tero Vallas. Thanks for informing me. Since we have divided the convoy, making one only with Newbies, and the other Fewbie and above, I'd rather not change it around. Nonetheless, I understand your request, so I have thought of placing you in an easy and relaxing convoy position. You'll but quite upfront (cleaner tracks) and you will not have recovery or other responsibilities, so you can just enjoy the drive. Kalahari and @Vanessa8580, will be supporting the convoy, so it should be a smooth and enjoyable one. Let me know if this satisfies you. Thanks a lot.

    This is good !

    LAST UPDATE

@shu yang, @Jamil Abou Assali, @Tero Vallas and @Ahab Shamaa, you are all IN the drive. Please re-confirm that you wish to join.

At this point, given the great response to the drive, we will split the convoy in 2, with myself leading the Newbies, and @Yousef Alimadadi leading the Fewbies and above.

I will soon get back to all with the final convoy split, and the responsibilities given to the Seniors in both convoys.

We will all meet at the original meeting point, at Murqaab Mosque, and will leave together. We also plan to reach the same exit point, with both convoys. This will be at the so called "Three trees", at the junction between the dirt road from Lisaili, along the pylons, and the tarmac road from Qudra to Solar Park.

From this point on, if time permits and both convoys reach around the same time (approx. 9:30am), I would like to offer a drive extension to all Fewbies and above, from this exit point onward to Bab al Shams via Qudra (for those who wish to continue).

The latest details, and convoy order, by this evening. Have a great day!!

Hi @Ale Vallecchi, yes I confirm. Prefer newbie if possible, I have some guests coming in with me. If that is suitable.

Hey @Tero Vallas, I had done the PCR for the Extreme drive and I was wondering if you did too 😀 Yes, Ale’s drive is in Dubai and doesn’t need a PCR.

Oh yes, I have valid PCR, I have to keep it up due to business in Abu Dhabi.  I have counted roughly 70 - 80 PCR test completed within a year. Not enjoyable ... at all. ;-)

  4. HI

What a drive, it was really more technical as ever ! Surprising soft sands required us to keep really focused to driving and route selection all the time.

We had few stucks there in the back, actually really challenging ones in tight pocket. We used @Abu Muhammads monsters winch and it looked a while that even with that we wouldn't get @Gaurav Soni out from pocket. But slowly Mitsubishi got up which required quite a lot of power from Gaurav, resulting overheating of gearbox & engine. @Gaurav Soni, I think you car was missing some power after that  in last stages of the drive. Please have it checked so that there is no further damages.👍

As @Lorenzo Candelpergher explained in advance, technical dunes took some toll, but drive was definitely different with slower pace needed and wonderful terrain. Thank you @Lorenzo Candelpergher for challenging and educative drive. And yes, I really enjoyed a lot to be sweeping !😃

Will add few photos to the gallery. See you on the sand again !!

CONGRATULAZIONI, COMPLIMENTI, BRAVI, to the new Extreme Team,  @Ahab Shamaa @Francois Germishuys @Ilya @Christian Andras @Craig Finlayson @Jorge Stepniak Felippe @Kalahari @Shaaz Sha and @Tero Vallas. I have had the pleasure of driving with all of you, at one time or another, and it's been great seeing you constantly improving, rising to the challenges along the way, and going beyond what your minds and cars may have been telling you were your limits, always overcoming, to become the cool and collected drivers you all are. Well done.

Thank  you @Ale Vallecchi , I have always enjoyed your drives with good briefings, convoy management and advice during the drives. Hats off !

  6. Hi

Great drive today for  a while, I have not been able  to join for 2 weeks due to business travel.

For me drive started nicely in different terrain. I got too confident though and over speeded in one longer dunes which ended to very hard terrain in the bottom of the slope. I knew I will pop out tyre already before I hit the hard ground, but couldn’t fix the approach angle anymore 😡👎😁.

Well... result was double pop out from left side of the car 😂.

Thank you so much friends to help me out !!

Lessons learnt, I need to stay more focused and see & think exit in advance while entering to slopes. Do not overspeed ! My bad.

thank you @Kailas for nice drive !

    Few photos in gallery.

    See u again on sand!

  7. Hi all !

It was really thick fog in early morning, one couldn’t see longer than 10 meters ! After small waiting we started the journey  anyway and soon discovered visibility to improve.

This was my first extreme drive and yes... we were speeding through amazing areas and dunes.

@Emmanuel, thank you for confident leading, you are a pro. I am amazed how well you  are navigating in the front and same time finding suitable drivable routing. Especially with pace we used, you really need to do split of a second decisions and observe same time what we are messing up behind 😁. I wish I could do same. Simply hats off !

@Christian Andras you did great sweeping and assist of recoveries. I was glad to hear your pilot background also. Perhaps we may have a flight sometime..

@Shaaz Sha, @Jorge Stepniak Felippe and @Rizwanm2, it was pleasure to drive with you guys !!

    Few shots in gallery...

See you soon on sand !

  9. Thank you @Emmanuel for good and well organised drive (!), unfortunate technical hick-up affected, but those are part of the business 👍.

It was really interesting and fun to join as pace in this drive was much faster than in "normal" drives.  If there ever is such drive than "normal".... Your were absolutely right on that Emmanuel 😃

Looking forward to "take 2", see you fellows soon again on the sand !

    Few photos added to gallery.
