  1. Check engine mounts as first culprit to doubt that why it happen.

    For emergency repair

Go down, remove that neck with screw driver and put cloth inside the suction tube that goes inside the manifold.

Use super glue generously on inside the crack surface.

Use araldite (two paste to mix) easily available in groceries too. Use that on top of cracked surface and let it dry for 2 hours.

Then use a breathable strong clothe, like the crepe bandage and wrap on whole neck.

Then cover whole neck with strong masking/duct/aluminium tape.

Then put several cable ties on each ring.

Install back and it would be good for long time even with 6k rpm but still get this neck change as soon as market open after eid holidays.

  2. 2003 Pathfinder is a very good choice. Go for 3.5 that is more capable than 3.3 as you intend to use it in sand, so the more power is highly recommended.

@Fuad I think has 3.5, please comment on pricing if you think this 9K for 140k driven seems fine.

As per 17 years old age 140k is quiet a low mileage (if its real and not reversed). Check it properly.

Hi Gurav it's 8.15 on Thurs. Is it possible to confirm RSVP or too late. Hoping joining the drive is possible. Have all required kit. Thanking in advance, Andy

Hi Andy, all 4 drives were full in first 3 hours of posting on Sunday. From there we were just doing + - of people coming in and drop out, which was not much tbh.

I'm afraid all drives are full at the moment, please try to sign in faster next time.

However, leave a note in any drive you wish to join, in case we have last minute drop out before 6 pm today, then trip lead will add you and notify you.

    Hi @Gaurav,

I am a Newbie according to Carnity criteria, as I joined the Club in March, even though I have accumulated 11 rides with other groups and friends. Would it be possible to be placed in a waiting list for this ride, in case anyone drops out?

    Thanks,
    Lorenzo

I'm sorry @Lorenzo Candelpergher we can't do that for your and your vehicle safety primarily.

Whenever you join the next newbie drive, do make sure to inform the trip lead about your 11 drive self declaration, so that he can gauge your driving skills and promote you to the fewbie level after that drive.

Hi @Gaurav. One question, i see on the description of the trip that maximum number of cars on the drive is 12 and currently is 11 but it says that the RVSP is complete and doesn't allow me to sign in. Is there an extra space for me for this trip?

    Thanks in advance!

Good observation @Nacho, we kept 9+3 (manage), I just added your name to the RSVP list.

Hope you have radio and flag and have gone through the whole list of drive precautions and mandatory PPE above.

  10. Jeep's are jeep and there is no second doubt that they will eventually break and have their own set of reliability issues whichever year you go to.

With my little knowledge of Jeep, as i'm not a jeeper JK make more sense because of immense power gain and marginal better approach and departure angle plus newer engineering is always efficient.

These all three are super important aspect for offroading.

    TJ - 190 hp vs JK - 285 hp.

Btw, just to be clear what type offroading you are into or planning to get into?

    • Sand (desert driving)
    • Rocks (mountain climbing or rock crawling)
    • Both of the above
    • Just tarmac

  11. I'm sorry @Zed with such a looooooooong travel suspension even Toyota Corolla can do this.

There is nothing to do with Jeep, Patrol, LC band wagon dance here. They are often used as a shell. Period.

Last week we spotted wrangler climbing insane behind fossil rock and when same climb @Colin Jordan tried he could make 20-25% hardly. Because previous wrangler must be running LS engine (corvette) with twin turbos to defy gravity and physics so effortlessly.

And he must have spend twice the cost of the shell wrangler to build such extreme modified climber.

What you is NOT what you get here (WYSIWYG).

An off road toy is if it's explodes tomorrow and burns down to it's chassis, you can still walk away from it without a very big hole in your wallet.

But if you can afford to bash around in a 200k car without much of us poor folk type of concerns like expensive repairs, depreciation, screwing up your only pride and joy then go for it by all means..

I know our marshals will say i am making people afraid but thats my experience.

Then either you still don't know the Marshals fully or the Carnity.

Rahimdad (founder) was the one to make what went wrong thread 2 years back to educate offroaders and not to scare them.

Think like this how would you feel if someone T boned your Patrol while off roading or how would you feel if you fly over a dune a smash the from end.

You have comprehensive insurance with off-road cover for such accidents.

There is good chance while dune bashing you may flip your car, you may hit another car, you may fly over the dune with your car. I even saw while trying to tow other car you may brake your car`s chassis. All of these things are what i experienced over last few years. I personally flied over a dune and smashed the front of my Jeep.

That's how you learn, isn't. And now you've sober down with Grand Cherokee + Mercedes.
