  1. @PaoloMarazitiglad to hear that you got home safely and feeling a bit better. Everyone helps everyone else, as you will remember from our last drive together 🤣 (Thank you again for the help you gave me). This is what makes @Carnity such a great club.

Thanks @Lorenzo Candelpergherfor a brilliant drive, loved the trip back through all the bowls. In the dark I had not quite realised just how high we must have climbed. Thoroughly enjoyed it and looking forward to joining the next drive you lead.

Thanks as always to the support team @Shaz Shah,@Chaitanya D, @Thomas Varghesewithout you all these drives would not run as smoothly or be anywhere near as much fun.

See you all on the next drive

  2. @Foxtrot OscarHave to say, absolutely loved the drive, great fun, great banter and the dunes were pretty good also 🤣🤣

Makes a change for you not to have to recover me at some point on the drive, so i guess i must be getting better (at least at the self recovery) 🤦‍♂️

@Arman you smashed the 2nd lead, was a joy to watch

@Jack Thomasthanks for the extra guidance on dealing with a couple of refusals

@Islam Solimanas always great having you on the drive and reassuring knowing that you are sweeping every body along, not that you needed to do too much (other than a few pop outs) as everyone was driving so well.

@Alexander Alcalafirst drive with you and hope it wont be the last, thanks for holding the centre together.

Thanks to everyone else for a great drive

Finally @Foxtrot Oscarcant wait for the next Fewbie ++ (can see @Gauravmaking this a new level 😀)

Till the next time stay safe

  3. Really enjoying these mid week drives, makes the whole week seem so much shorter 😀

@Tamas Hoffmannbrilliant route selection - well that is until until the very end 🤦‍♂️ - will say no more other than thanks to @Hisham Masaadfor rescuing us all 🙏

Loved the pace and the dunes were just fantastic, with some great ridge riding

I feel so lucky as the car showed no signs of a problem till we were filling up with air at the very end and then suddenly she died!!!!!

Thanks to @Srikumar for diagnosing that it was the alternator, anyway a few hours later it was being recovered and all being well will be ready for Friday 😃

Thanks also to @darren thompson, @Vanessa8580, @Tamas Hoffmann, @PaoloMaraziti, @Hisham Masaadfor your assistance, with jump starts, diagnostics and the refuge of an air conditioned car.

Last but not least @Chinthaka Ruwan great driving with you again.

    Until the next one

@Tamas Hoffmannthanks for picking up the lead role while @Shaz Shahcar was "escorted" from the dunes

@Thomas Vargheseglad to hear the car all sorted, interesting to watch how a pop out is "nearly" 😆 repaired for the first time. Loving the photos!!

  5. Thanks @Chaitanya Dfor a really fun, fast paced drive over the long dunes. Doing it at night definitely adds another dimension. My 2nd night drive and definitely felt more confident this time.

Thanks for the opportunity to be 2nd lead,

    @Ehabtruly excellent videos

Thanks @Hisham Masaad, @Craig Finlayson and @M.Seidam for all the support

    Until next time

  6. Thanks  @Foxtrot Oscarfor stepping in to lead at the last minute as that was an absolutely fantastic not to be missed drive. Thanks @Nabil Bishara, @Dodi Syahdar and @M.Seidamfor your support and advice.

Following the tracks in front is one thing, going off piste when there is a refusal in front and creating your own tracks is very different and as a result ended up getting myself into trouble 🤦‍♂️ - Still lots to learn

Having driven with @Foxtrot Oscartwice she has now had to rescue me twice 😆 - Thank you so much again.

Cant wait till the next drive

  7. Convoy 2:

Thanks @Anish S @Islam Solimanand @Ranjan Das for a brilliant drive. Thanks also @Rawad Bahsas(and your wife) for recovering my flag on more than 1 occasion. oh and @Islam Solimanfor the loan of his flag ( as he was at rear of convoy) when i eventually realised there was a crack in the suction cup.

Now to the driving - It was AMAZING. I was a bit sceptical when signing up as had only been to Fossil Rock / Faya area ( as a Newbie) a couple of weeks before. But as a Fewbie it was a totally different experience. Some fantastic slide sloping and then progressively climbing through the bowls at the rear of Faya was truly an experience i will not forget for a long time.

Thanks again @Anish S, until the next time.

    Drive Brief
This drive is an evergreen classic at Carnity. Starting from Tawi at 5.15m, we will start in the twilight and then head east straight into the raising sun, which will soon unveil itself from behind the skyline of Fossil Rock. We will enter the desert from a bushy area, riding on large and fat ridges as we make our way to the rock. If not too crowded, we will indulge for some play time at the Long Dune, a fantastic, super-long dune offering great opportunities to practice side sloping.

We will then head to Fossil Rock, with the plan to performing a breath-taking climb to the top and, if the terrain will allow for it, a descent on the opposite side. We will then head south, moving across a fascinating area populated by dunes with evocative names such as Camel Rock and The Sphinx, with the aim of reaching Faya area (see photo below), where very large and mighty dunes will be waiting for us to leave our tire marks one the sand and undeletable memories in our minds.
